OSBOURNE DEMANDS HELP FOR ADDICTS FOLLOWING HOUSTON’S DEATH

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:13 pm

SHARON OSBOURNE is urging fans to help drug-addicted celebrities while they’re still alive rather than ridiculing them for their problems.
The rock matriarch, whose husband Ozzy, daughter Kelly and son Jack have all battled drug demons, was left stunned by the news of Whitney Houston’s death over the weekend (11-12Feb12).
The I Will Always Love You hitmaker, whose official cause of death is yet to be revealed as the coroner awaits toxicology results, had a lengthy struggle with drug abuse.
And now Osbourne is calling for devotees to support troubled stars and help them through times of crisis rather than using their problems as a source of criticism.
In a series of posts on Twitter.com she writes, "Amy Winehouse, Michael Jackson and now Whitney Houston. We’re all hypocrites bc (because) we’re all guilty of mocking them while they were alive.
"It always takes for them to die before we shower them with praise and adulation. They were addicts and there are many addicts still alive. Don’t mock them, just help them." Osbourne’s son Jack has backed up his mother’s statement by re-posting her message on his own page and writing, "Amen mama. Well said!"

NEWTON SET FOR STAGE RETURN

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:10 pm

Veteran Australian entertainer BERT NEWTON has been released from hospital and is preparing to rejoin the cast of hit musical WICKED on Tuesday (14Feb12).

Newton has now been discharged and he plans to take up his place on stage again on Tuesday.
Wicked spokeswoman Amanda Osborne says, "He is absolutely back on track. Bert Newton has not had a heart attack or emergency heart surgery in Singapore. ATWELL TAKES AIM AT BAFTA BOSSES OVER NOMINATIONS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:10 pm

Actress HAYLEY ATWELL has criticised British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) bosses for failing to include any women on the shortlist for the coveted Rising Star award.
Kidulthood star Adam Deacon scooped the trophy at the glitzy BAFTA prizegiving in London on Sunday (12Feb12), seeing off competition from an all-male list of nominees including Chris Hemsworth, Chris O’Dowd, Eddie Redmayne and Tom Hiddleston.
However, Captain America star Atwell insists she was disappointed to see female stars including The Help’s Jessica Chastain, Like Crazy star Felicity Jones and Jennifer Lawrence dropped from the longlist of eight.
She tells Britain’s Daily Telegraph, "There were girls on the longlist and I think it’s really odd that girls haven’t made it where guys have. We’d hope that gender doesn’t really come into it and it’s about the body of work that they produce that year, but it seems that hasn’t been the case. Felicity Jones should have been nominated." Previous winners of the award, which is voted for by the public, have included Eva Green and Kristen Stewart.
