GORDON-LEVITT ASKED OUT BY CANCER SUFFERER

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:17 pm

JOSEPH GORDON-LEVITT’s turn in cancer movie 50/50 made such a lasting impression on one female sufferer, she has recorded a video appealing for a date with the actor.
The Inception star has won over critics with his new film role, and cinema-goer Lindsay Miller, who has been diagnosed with cancer, was equally in awe of the actor’s performance.
In a post on her website, she writes, "I saw the cancer comedy 50/50 recently and was impressed with it, though it was difficult emotionally for me to watch. After seeing Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s performance and seeing/reading some of his subsequent interviews about the film I thought, ‘This guy gets it. And he’s cute. I wonder if I could ever run into him somewhere.’ But even though I live in L.A., it seems impossible to find him." Miller, 26, has now filmed a YouTube.com video appealing for Gordon-Levitt to contact her so they can meet up for a coffee date.
In the clip, she says, "Even though I look healthy, dating has been a little difficult because I’m not sure how to explain what I’ve been going through. But, after years of living with this, I’ve decided to get back on the dating scene and I’d like my first date to be with you.
"Maybe you could call it my make a wish, but let’s not be over-dramatic - just a cup of coffee with you would make me happy."

FOX MAKES BROADWAY DEBUT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:14 pm

MEGAN FOX took to the stage in New York on Monday night (14Nov11) to mark her Broadway debut in THE 24 HOUR PLAYS.
The Transformers star was among a number of famous faces taking part in the charity theatre project, which gives a group of actors, writers and directors 24 hours to come up with a script and prepare it for the stage.
Fox made her New York stage debut as she appeared in a short play called The Maid opposite Paul Bettany, Sarah Silverman and Tracy Morgan, and she told reporters at the event she would never consider signing up for a proper Broadway production.
She says, "I don’t have the stomach for (the stage). It takes a very brave, courageous person, and I’m too neurotic. I wouldn’t survive an entire run of a play.. It’s frightening… Everyone is so completely terrified (in The 24 Hour Plays), even the people who have done it several times. But I was really impressed with how very relaxed Sarah was, and obviously I don’t think Tracy’s ever been nervous in his life." Proceeds from ticket sales benefit the Urban Arts Partnership, an organisation which supports arts education in under-privileged schools.

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:26 pm

Sexy singer RIHANNA is toning down her outrageous outfits as she promotes new album TALK THAT TALK in a bid to ensure the focus is on her music.
The Umbrella hitmaker is known for her raunchy stage costumes and bold hairstyles, but now she’s sporting a more natural look to avoid becoming a "gimmick".

I just wanted to go right back to something simple and something flexible, something a little more natural. It’s more about the music. I don’t want to become a gimmick - ever. Well, I ran out of (hair) colours, so that’s why I decided to go back to my natural color.
"I’m just really having fun with the music and the style is a lot more accessible. It’s more lifestyle, it’s not so much a look or a costume, which I really enjoy."

STEWART TO SAIL TITANIC COURSE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:26 pm

Singer ROD STEWART is setting sail on the route of the doomed Titanic to mark the 100th anniversary of the tragedy next year (12).
The Maggie May hitmaker plans to embark on the special voyage next April (12) as part of a memorial for the 1,500 lives lost when the ship struck an iceberg and sank in the middle of the Atlantic.
He explains, "I would very much like to be on these ships that are going to be doing the Titanic run. Amazing that next April, it’s 100 years. I’m just in the middle of choosing which one I’d like to do.
"One ship is going from Southampton to New York and staying on the exact route going over where the Titanic went down and the other one is going from New York out to Halifax, where the ship sunk, and back again.
"Is it tempting fate? No, things have moved on since 1912. None of the icebergs come down that far south any more, and if they did, they’d blow them up." But Stewart will be sailing solo because his wife Penny gets seasick.
He adds, "I can’t get my wife to go because she suffers from seasickness on the Atlantic - she prefers a nice Caribbean cruise. So, I might just go on my own."

Country stars SUGARLAND are planning a break from the spotlight after experiencing "a tumultuous year" in 2011.
The hitmakers, comprised of Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush, will take a few months off to rest before they begin writing their next album, the follow-up to their chart-topping disc The Incredible Machine.
Nettles says, "We’re in the writing - actually, we’re in the resting process. Let’s be really frank. We just got off tour two weeks ago after two years of being on the Incredible Machine Tour, and obviously after quite a tumultuous year, to say the least, we are taking a few months just to chill and relax and sleep in our own beds and contemplate how we want to approach what’s next." Nettles and Bush were both left devastated in August (11) after seven concertgoers were killed at the Indiana State Fair when a thunderstorm brought their concert stage crashing down. Another 45 were injured in the tragedy.

JAY-Z: ‘DAD’S ABSENCE LEFT ME WITH HUGE SCAR’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:23 pm

Rap mogul JAY-Z is determined to be a better parent than his own absentee father, admitting he was left with a "huge scar" when his dad abandoned him as a boy.
The hip-hop star, who is expecting his first child with Beyonce in February (12), was left deeply traumatised at 11 when his dad Adnes Reeves walked away from the family.
And Jay-Z insists losing his dad at such a young age hurt more than never getting the chance to properly know him.
He tells GQ magazine, "If your dad died before you were born, yeah, it hurts - but it’s not like you had a connection with something that was real. My dad was such a good dad that when he left, he left a huge scar. He was my superhero… I bet (my dad) didn’t believe he’d spaz out and leave either." Jay-Z later discovered that Reeves had left his children following the sudden death of his brother. The father and son reconciled years later before Reeves passed away.

LOVE RAGES AT FAN OVER COBAIN PHOTO

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:20 pm

COURTNEY LOVE stormed offstage during HOLE’s appearance at Brazil’s SWU festival on Sunday (13Nov11) after an audience member held up a picture of her late husband KURT COBAIN.
The outspoken rocker halted her set at the Sao Paulo event to call out a concert-goer in the crowd brandishing a photo of the Nirvana frontman, who took his own life in 1994.
She shouted, "I don’t need to see a picture of Kurt, a**hole, and I’m going to have you f**king removed if you keep holding that up. I’m not Kurt, I have to live with his f**king s**t and his ghost and his kid every day. Throwing that up is stupid and rude and I’m going to beat the f**k out of you if you do it again." The furious star then removed her guitar and flashed her middle finger as she walked offstage, declaring, "Great, we’ll leave now. F**k you!" Love and her bandmates later re-emerged after a member of her entourage encouraged the crowd to chant, "The Foo Fighters are gay!", taking aim at the rockers’ frontman and former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl.
The singer then took a dig at Grohl herself, ranting, "I don’t care what you listen to at home, but if a guy takes money off my kid’s table, f**k him."

KARDASHIAN SUED OVER HAIR REMOVAL ENDORSEMENT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:20 pm

Reality TV star KIM KARDASHIAN is facing legal action over allegations of false advertising for a hair removal product she endorses.
Lawyers for beauty firm Radiant have accused Kardashian of misleading consumers with claims she’s made as the celebrity spokesperson for home laser hair removal system TRIA.
Bosses have taken exception to the socialite’s claims that she uses the gadget all over her body, since TRIA allegedly states it is unsafe for sensitive areas such as the face and neck.
In Radiant’s lawsuit, Kardashian also comes under fire for allegedly boasting that the product cancels the need for razors or shaving cream, despite its instructions reportedly noting that it should be used in conjunction with shaving.
Radiant executives want Kardashian to stop making the claims and are suing the brunette beauty for unspecified damages.
According to TMZ.com, Kardashian recently signed an 18-month contract to continue her endorsement work for TRIA.

KAT VON D ACCUSES JAMES OF INFIDELITY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:17 pm

Von D began dating the TV mechanic just two months after he divorced actress Sandra Bullock last year (10) amid rumours of infidelity.
Now the tattooist claims James was also unfaithful to her after opening up about their September (11) split for the first time.
In a post on her Facebook.com page, she writes, "Today I encountered the 19th girl to add to the list of people Jesse cheated on me with during this last year.
"I know I deserve a big fat ‘I told you so,’ from everyone, and wish I didn’t have to say, ‘You all were more right than you’ll ever know,’ but you were." Von D insists she’s moving on from the "toxic relationship" and admits she pities James for "seeking validation" with a slew of alleged conquests.
She adds, "I think it just made me sad today to imagine him still in that dark place - where seeking validation through the attention of women takes precedence over being a good father, a sincere friend, a better coworker, and a happy individual."

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:41 pm

The original members of BLACK SABBATH have confirmed they’re heading back into the studio to record an album of new material with top producer RICK RUBIN.
Ozzy Osbourne, Bill Ward, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler reunited for a press conference at the Whiskey A-Go-Go in Los Angeles on Friday morning (11Nov11) - the 41st anniversary of their first concert at the fabled venue - to announce big plans for 2012.
As well as recording their first studio album together since 1978, the group will tour the world and headline Britain’s Download Festival in June (12).
Earlier this month (Nov11), guitarist Iommi revealed the band had secretly regrouped and rehearsed at Osbourne’s home in California.
He told Billboard.com, "It was for a bit of fun, and to see if we could all play. It was good, but it was just purely, ‘Let’s have a go and see what happens.’" The four original members of the group reunited on and off between 1997 and 2006 for live events, but a feud over the band’s name drove a wedge between Iommi and Osbourne and led to a brief legal battle which has since been dropped.

PITT VOICES SUPPORT FOR OCCUPY MOVEMENT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:26 pm

BRAD PITT has come out in support of demonstrators who have set up camp in cities across the world to protest against corporate greed.
The Occupy Movement first hit headlines in New York in September (11), with the demonstration in Wall Street, and it has since spread to cities including San Francisco, California and London.
Stars including Kanye West, Tom Morello, Mark Ruffalo and Russell Brand have already shown their support for the campaigners, and now Pitt has thrown his star power behind the movement.
The actor is convinced the campaigners have a relevant point and urges them not to stop looking for solutions for the financial problems they are protesting against.
He tells reporters in Tokyo, Japan during his press tour there, "I think what you’re seeing in America is questioning a system that has not served us very well. A system that, I mean for example, is defined for corporate lobbyists instead of the best needs for the people and people are feeling screwed a little bit there.
"The most important thing is, really, not just getting swept up in the fervour of a fight. If you’re feeling marginalised and frustrated, sometimes the release of a fight can pacify for the moment. But beyond that, really understanding the details, really understanding the systemic problems - and you can’t stop there - really looking for solutions. And if you’re going to say one guy’s bad, you’ve got to back it up with ‘This is how we fix it.’"
