BIEBER’S TEAM READY TO FIGHT ‘MALICIOUS’ BABY LAWSUIT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:17 am

JUSTIN BIEBER’s representative has vowed to fight a lawsuit alleging the singer fathered a fan’s child, dismissing the accusation as "malicious, defamatory, and demonstrably false".
According to online reports, a 20-year-old woman from California has filed a paternity suit against the singer, 17, claiming she fell pregnant after the pair had sex backstage at a concert in Los Angeles.
Bieber’s camp is vehemently denying the claims made in the alleged lawsuit, and his reps warn they will use "all available legal remedies" to prove the allegation false.
In a statement to TMZ.com, Bieber’s rep says, "While we haven’t yet seen the lawsuit, it’s sad that someone would fabricate malicious, defamatory, and demonstrably false claims.
"We will vigorously pursue all available legal remedies to defend and protect Justin against these allegations."

FRANCIS SUES CASINO BOSS OVER ‘RUINED REPUTATION’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:16 am

GIRLS GONE WILD founder JOE FRANCIS has launched legal action against Sin City casino boss STEVE WYNN, accusing him of wrecking his reputation during their $2 million (£1.2 million) gambling debt battle.
The soft porn boss faced charges including theft and fraud in February (11) over the alleged debt owed to Wynn. Wynn sued Francis over the debt in 2009, but he reportedly refused to pay the full amount.
A grand jury had ordered Francis to stand trial, but Los Angeles District Court Judge Linda Marie Bell dismissed the case in September (11) after deciding there was a lack of evidence of wrongdoing on the filmmaker’s part.
However, last month (Oct11), a judge in Nevada ordered Francis to hand over the cash - and now he has decided to sue Wynn himself.
In papers filed in Los Angeles Federal Court on Tuesday (01Nov11), Francis claims the casino tycoon ruined his reputation during the case.
He is seeking an unspecified amount in damages.

Allen directed the beauty in Match Point and Scoop, and then again in 2008 film Vicky Cristina Barcelona, and Johannson admits the secret to their long-lasting friendship lies in the fact they’re both hypochondriacs, who constantly check each other for various medical ailments.
She tells Vogue magazine, "He shakes a lot of hands. I’ll squirt some (anti-bacterial gel) in my hand and then squirt in his. The only reason why Woody and I are still friends is because I’ve diagnosed all kinds of his skin tags, lesions, ailments. I’ve prescribed things for Woody that he’s then asked his doctor to prescribe for him."

KEYS SURPRISES STUDENTS AT ALMA MATER WITH INSTRUMENTS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:13 pm

Singer ALICIA KEYS surprised students at her old high school on Tuesday (01Nov11) by donating new musical instruments to their arts department during a special visit.
The No One hitmaker returned to the Professional Performing Arts School (PPAS) in New York City to launch new philanthropic organisation the World of Betters, which urges fans to improve their communities using only $1,000 (GBP625).
But the good-hearted musician didn’t show up to her alma mater empty-handed - she brought along instruments to help budding stars hone their craft like she once did.
Greeting a crowd that had gathered in the auditorium for the World of Betters launch, she said, "I’m excited to be here. This is the school that I went to, you know, so this is a very important place for me. I totally remember this stage. Although it didn’t look like this when I went to school here. It’s bigger, that’s good." She added, "A lot needs to be done in the schools around the city and especially here at PPAS… so I’m very happy to be kind of starting this conversation off, as a person that attended PPAS. I feel like this was totally a foundation for me and started me off on my path to my dreams, so I’d love to help give back to the kids here who have those same dreams." Participants can post their World of Betters ideas online and 100 winners will be announced on 15 December (11).
The contest was launched in North America on Tuesday in partnership with money transfer company Western Union, and similar launch events will be hosted in the coming weeks by singer Sunidhi Chauhan in India and rapper K’Naan in Africa.

FORMER BROWN TRUSTEES WANT SETTLEMENT DECLARED NULL AND VOID

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:13 pm

The former trustees of JAMES BROWN’s estate are asking a South Carolina judge to void a 2009 settlement deal which divided up the late soul legend’s assets.
Adele Pope and Robert Buchanan claim they were ousted from their positions as trustees because they opposed the offer brokered by then-South Carolina Attorney General Henry McMaster.
The agreement ended a long-running dispute over the singer’s finances and split Brown’s funds between his adult children, his widow Tomi Rae Hynie and their young son and his charitable trust.
But Pope and Buchanan, who were previously placed in charge of the estate by a court official, claim McMaster had no authority to step in and sort out the mess. And they want the deal to be declared null and void. Instead, the pair insists Brown would have wanted to leave all his money in a trust fund to provide education for needy kids.
James Richardson, an attorney for Pope and Buchanan, says, "The attorney general has absolutely no authority to step into litigation and purport to sign settlement agreements." But the singer’s daughter, Deanna Brown -Thomas - the president of the James Brown Family Foundation, is adamant the deal was in everybody’s interests.
Brown-Thomas says, "We gave half (of the finances) of what we would get - that would be me, my brothers and sisters and Tomi Rae Hynie. Where had (sic) we not done that (taken the deal), the charitable trust would not have a dime by 2015." Brown died on Christmas Day (25Dec) in 2006.

THE ORDINARY BOYS REUNITING

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:10 pm

British rockers THE ORDINARY BOYS are making a comeback - frontman PRESTON and drummer SIMON GOLDRING are reuniting the band three years after calling it quits.
The Boys Will Be Boys stars parted ways in 2008, but singer Preston - who has since achieved success as a songwriter and producer - admits he misses performing with his pals and he is teaming up with Goldring to play a series of dates across the U.K. in December (11).
Preston says, "It’s been five years since the band played live and despite having forged a career as a songwriter for other artists as well as (working on) some development and production (projects), I desperately miss those early, sweaty Ordinary Boys shows.
"I organised some time off in December to play some of my favourite venues from those days as a little release for myself and to give those songs the decent send off that they deserve." And the star, real name Samuel Preston, reveals he wanted to return to the stage before he gets too old.
He adds, "There is no reason beyond the fun of playing… I just need something loud and fast in my life and I want to do it before I turn 30 next year." Guitarist William J. Brown and bassist James Gregory will not be part of the reunion.

VOODOO EXPERIENCE BOSSES APOLOGISE FOR ODD FUTURE FUSS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:07 pm

The organisers of this past weekend’s (29-30Oct11) Voodoo Experience festival in New Orleans, Louisiana have distanced themselves from violence during ODD FUTURE’s Sunday set, insisting they don’t condone "abusive behaviour".
Photographer Amy Harris claims her camera was knocked out of her hands when she was slapped by rapper Left Brain, aka Vyron Turner, during the group’s performance.
A spokesman for the group has denied the claims, telling Billboard.com, "There simply is no truth to the accusation floating around the internet. It’s no secret that Odd Future has a love/hate relationship with photographers at shows. (It’s) simply because they are given access the group wishes their fans would have instead.
"After telling the photographers to clear out multiple times (as they’ve done before) Vyron (Left Brain) took a swipe at a few cameras, NOT people. To manipulate the situation to insinuate an attack on a woman specifically is careless and manipulative." But festival bosses appear to be siding with the members of the media.
A statement from the organisers reads, "The Voodoo Experience does not in any way condone the behaviour of Odd Future towards the approved media assembled in the photo pit during the band’s set. Festival organisers would like to apologise to their media guests who experienced and/or witnessed this abusive behaviour."
