HAPPY MONDAYS frontman SHAUN RYDER has landed a new TV job fronting a show which searches for UFOs.
The star is best known for his drug-fuelled wild days in the British band, but has been hiding a secret obsession with extra-terrestrials.
He will now attempt to prove the existence of alien life in his eight-part TV series Shaun Ryder On UFOs, which will air on The History Channel, according to Britain’s The Sun.
The newspaper reports Ryder will travel to Peru, Chile and Australia to investigate UFO sightings.
A source says, "He’ll try to separate fact from fiction and meet odd characters, some of whom make him look sane. It will be revelatory but funny."

KENNY LOGGINS and BLAKE SHELTON will team up at the CMA Awards in Nashville, Tennessee next week (09Nov11) to perform their movie theme FOOTLOOSE.
Shelton re-recorded Loggins’ catchy tune for the 2011 remake of the 1984 pop hit and the rock star was impressed that the country singer didn’t really change his original.
He recently told Access Hollywood, "They (producers) tried 10 different versions of the song and they kept re-cutting it because they wanted to capture that spirit of the original - and Blake came the closest." Shelton, who is nominated in five categories at the CMAs, will perform the song as a duet with Loggins.

British rockers COLDPLAY are branching out into business by ploughing cash into an English electronics company.
The Yellow rockers are backing entrepreneurs Clive Banks and Jason Regler, who run RB Concepts, after being impressed with the pair’s flashing wristband invention, which can be used for audience interaction at gigs.
The band agreed to become partners in the concept, and launched the product at their concert in Madrid, Spain last week (ends30Oct11).
Banks tells Britain’s The Sun, "It is huge to be working with Coldplay. The next move would be to have the wristbands at sporting events and night time events.
"The big thing is audience participation, this means bands can relate more to the audience. We are looking towards using it at the Olympics." Coldplay recently revealed they are also investing in a film about recently reformed British rockers Stone Roses.

A man who accused Irish music manager LOUIS WALSH of indecently assaulting him earlier this year (11) is facing jail after pleading guilty to charges of making false reports to police.
Leonard Watters claimed Walsh, who serves as a judge on Britain’s The X Factor, groped him at Krystle nightclub in Dublin, Ireland following a Westlife concert in April (11).
The TV star vehemently denied the allegations and the investigation was dropped after just four days.
Watters was charged with two counts of making false reports to cops, and in court in Dublin on Wednesday (02Oct11), the father-of-two admitted he had made up the claims.
He then apologised to Walsh from the witness box, saying, "I would like to sincerely apologise to Mr Louis Walsh for all the stuff I put him through. The allegation was false." Watters is set to be sentenced on 5 January (12). The judge warned he is facing a custodial sentence.

Rap group INSANE CLOWN POSSE have been hit with a $2 million (£1.2 million) lawsuit over allegations the band sampled copyrighted Halloween-themed music on various tracks without permission.
The horror rappers are being sued by Entity Productions, which sells and licenses various gothic recordings around the world.
In a lawsuit, filed on Monday (31Oct11) in Ohio, lawyers for the company claim the group illegally sampled portions of works created by the group Midnight Syndicate.
According to the suit, the company believe portions of seven separate songs have been used without prior consent, reports AllHipHop.com.
Entity Productions bosses are seeking $2.1 million (£1.3 million) in damages.

THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. star ROBERT VAUGHN is swapping spying for soap operas after landing a role on beloved British TV show CORONATION STREET.
The U.S. TV legend has signed a deal to star in the show - the U.K.’s longest-running soap - for three weeks.
He will play a rich American who woos character Sylvia Goodwin on a cruise trip, according to Britain’s The Sun.

WHOOPI GOLDBERG celebrated her daughter’s marriage by jetting to Las Vegas to watch her renew her vows last month (Oct11).
The Ghost actress’ daughter Alex Martin walked down the aisle with husband Bernard Dean for a second time on 15 October (11), according to People.com.
The 37 year old and her partner held the renewal ceremony in Las Vegas, and Goldberg, her three grandchildren and the couple’s close friends were there to help celebrate.
Martin is Goldberg’s daughter with her first husband, Alvin Martin.

KIM KARDASHIAN has sat down for her first interview since announcing her intention to divorce KRIS HUMPHRIES after 72 days of marriage, revealing she felt obliged to follow her "intuition".
The reality TV star started divorce proceedings against the basketball player on Monday (31Oc11), just weeks after their much-publicised August (11) nuptials.
Kardashian jetted to Australia for a business trip hours after the news broke, but she failed to escape the spotlight and journalists’ probing questions.
In an interview with Aussie morning show Sunrise on Thursday (03Nov11), she was asked why she decided to go ahead and file divorce papers.
She replied, "I think when you know so deep in your heart that you just have to listen to your intuition and follow your heart, there’s no right or wrong thing to do, so I really believe that." The brunette beauty also admitted her private life has become too open to the public after years of starring in fly-on-the-wall reality TV shows, and she now wants to take some time off to get over the split.
When asked about speculation her marriage was a money-spinning sham, she explained, "It’s kind of what you get for living your life so publicly on a reality show. I get that… but I think that also just teaches me I kind of want to step back a little bit.
"Of course I do want that time to be with myself and close friends and family. I don’t think you ever prepare yourself for when that time is. So, I will get that time somewhere in the near future.
"I do want some time really to myself and it’s a really tough thing to go through, but I didn’t want to bail on everyone and kind of skip out on this commitment here (in Australia)."

LINDSAY LOHAN has been sentenced to 30 days in jail after pleading guilty to violating the terms of her probation.
The Mean Girls star appeared before Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner on Wednesday (02Nov11) and confessed to skipping 14 of her 19 court-ordered therapy appointments.
The actress had been ordered to complete 120 hours of community service and undergo counselling following a necklace theft conviction earlier this year (11), while she was already on probation for a 2007 DUI incident.
However, Lohan repeated failed to show up for her community service term at the Downtown Women’s Shelter in L.A., and she was subsequently booted from the programme.
On Wednesday, the star also admitted that she had not fulfilled the terms of her therapy requirements, prompting Judge Sautner to hand down the punishment and order her to report to jail by 9 November (11). Unlike earlier this year (11), she will not be eligible for house arrest.
The judge also demanded Lohan serve out the remainder of her community service at the Los Angeles County Morgue, where she has been putting in time following a probation progress hearing last month (Oct11).
The actress must complete all of her probation requirements by 29 March (12). If Lohan fails to do so, Judge Sautner warned she would issue a warrant for her arrest and throw her behind bars for an additional 270 days.
A relieved Lohan appeared content with the sentence and was heard muttering "Thank God" under her breath as she walked out of court.

A man accused of hacking into the email accounts of stars including SCARLETT JOHANSSON and MILA KUNIS and accessing their nude photos pleaded not guilty in court on Tuesday (01Nov11).
Christopher Chaney, 35, was arrested at his home in Jacksonville, Florida last month (Oct11) and charged with 26 counts of identity theft before being released on bail.
He appeared before Judge Patrick Walsh in a Florida court on Tuesday and denied the charges.
The judge refused to remand Chaney in custody but increased his bail bond to $110,000 (£68,000), ordered him to wear an electronic monitoring device and told him to refrain from using computers.
A trial date has been set for 27 December (11).

NICOLAS CAGE’s son WESTON has filed for divorce from his wife after six months of marriage.
The rocker filed documents on 27 October (11) to start divorce proceedings from Nikki Williams.
The 20 year old took to his Facebook.com page to reveal the news, writing, "WELL ITS OFFICAL (sic). THE DIVORCE IS SETTLED! ………………LADIES, DADDY IS BACK ahahahhahahaahh oh god! its on." The pair wed in New Orleans in April (11).
The short-lived marriage has been a tumultuous union - the pair was arrested in July (11) following domestic disputes. Weston entered rehab for a 30-day treatment program following the bust-ups.

MAMMA MIA! star AMANDA SEYFRIED is in talks to replace KATE HUDSON as adult actress-turned-anti-porn activist LINDA LOVELACE in a new biopic.

BRITNEY SPEARS is planning to make her acting comeback in 2012 - and she wants to turn bad for her big screen return.

British singer GARY BARLOW is giving disappointed fans the chance to bid for tickets to his first full solo shows in more than a decade after the two gigs sold out within minutes.

The TiK ToK singer stars in a new commercial for FCancer, an organisation which aims to put an end to the late diagnosis of the killer disease.
In a specially-filmed video, Ke$ha encourages families to sit down together and discuss the condition, so kids will understand the signs and be able to detect it early.
