GIBB ‘DETERMINED’ TO RECOVER FROM ILLNESS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:43 am

BEE GEES legend ROBIN GIBB is "determined" to fight his way back to full health following his recent hospitalisation.
The Staying Alive hitmaker is in a stable condition at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, England, where he was admitted on Thursday (13Oct11) after suffering acute abdominal pains at his home in Oxfordshire.
Gibb’s manager Eaton has now opened up about his pal’s illness, revealing he’s seriously concerned because the star’s twin brother Maurice died of a similar condition in 2003.
But Eaton claims the singer is determined to be fighting fit as soon as possible.
He tells Britain’s The People newspaper, "Obviously it is a worry. This is what did it for his brother Maurice - but what is different is his condition was left for a long time and Robin’s has not been. Our concern is that it keeps recurring but he is determined (to get better) and we just hope things will be OK. Robin just wants to get back to work." Gibb is expected to be discharged following further medical tests.

QUINTO DECIDED TO ‘COME OUT’ AFTER DEATH OF BULLIED GAY TEEN

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:37 am

STAR TREK actor ZACHARY QUINTO was inspired to ‘come out’ as a homosexual after feeling "indescribable despair" by the tragic suicide of a bullied gay teenager.
The star spoke publicly for the first time about his sexuality in an interview with New York Magazine, confirming longrunning speculation about his choice of lifestyle by referring to himself as "a gay man".
Now Quinto has revealed that he was so "deeply troubled" by the death of 14-year-old Jamey Rodemeyer last month (Sep11) that he was prompted to live his life more openly so he can use his voice to campaign for equal rights for all.
In a post on his blog, Quinto refers to an anti-bullying public service announcement he shot in 2010, writing, "when i found out that jamey rodemeyer killed himself - i felt deeply troubled. but when i found out that jamey rodemeyer had made an it gets better video only months before taking his own life - i felt indescribable despair.
"i also made an it gets better video last year - in the wake of the senseless and tragic gay teen suicides that were sweeping the nation at the time. but in light of jamey’s death - it became clear to me in an instant that living a gay life without publicly acknowledging it - is simply not enough to make any significant contribution to the immense work that lies ahead on the road to complete equality. our society needs to recognize the unstoppable momentum toward unequivocal civil equality for every gay lesbian bisexual and transgendered citizen of this country. gay kids need to stop killing themselves because they are made to feel worthless by cruel and relentless bullying. parents need to teach their children principles of respect and acceptance." Quinto admits the timing of his decision coincides well with the Occupy Wall Street protests against inequality and corporate greed, which began in New York and have since spread across the world - but the 34 year old wishes he had ‘come out’ sooner.
He continues, "we are witnessing an enormous shift of collective consciousness throughout the world. we are at the precipice of great transformation within our culture and government. i believe in the power of intention to change the landscape of our society - and it is my intention to live an authentic life of compassion and integrity and action.
"jamey rodemeyer’s life changed mine. and while his death only makes me wish that i had done this sooner - i am eternally grateful to him for being the catalyst for change within me. now i can only hope to serve as the same catalyst for even one other person in this world. that - i believe - is all that we can ask of ourselves and of each other." Pop star and gay rights advocate Lady Gaga was also moved by Rodemeyer’s death, which is believed to have occurred after years of cruel taunts from peers over his sexuality, and she has called on U.S. politicians to make bullying a crime to put a stop to the spate of teen suicides that has gripped America in the past year.

MORRISSEY: ‘I’M RIDICULED FOR MY OPINIONS’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:16 pm

Outspoken rocker MORRISSEY is convinced he is ridiculed for voicing his opinions on current affairs and fears he is now known only as a "bigmouth".
The former The Smiths frontman has strong views on a number of topics, from animal rights to Britain’s royal family, and has never shied away from putting his point across.
However, the star now fears he has become known as "Mad Morrissey" for being so outspoken - and headline writers can’t resist referencing The Smiths track Bigmouth Strikes Again when he makes controversial comments.
He tells Clash magazine, "I think I am officially ‘Mad Morrissey’ now, and everything I say must be ridiculed because that’s one way of not dealing with the contents of the actual comment… We live in very dumbed-down times. Everything - news media, music, music magazines - are presented with the assumption that the people as a whole are utterly thick, so therefore when I say, as I have, that the so-called royals are the most dysfunctional and unpleasant family in British history, no-one asks me why I think this.
"They simply print ‘Bigmouth Strikes Again’. Oh, I could go on. And do, often."

WINSTONE QUITS BOOZE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:13 pm

RAY WINSTONE has quit partying when he shoots movies because his on-set hangovers became unbearable.
The Departed star Winstone loved indulging in late-night drinking sessions during filming when he was a young man, but he struggles to cope with the after-effects as he ages.
And his hangovers have become so bad, the 54 year old has vowed to avoid alcohol whenever he’s working.
He tells TV Times magazine, "There was too much boozing when I was younger. In the old days, I’d work in the day, drink into the small hours and then start all over again the next morning.
"I had to give that up in the end. I didn’t touch a drop for the entire shoot of (2010 movie) Tracker. I needed to keep my head clear. It took me a long time to learn discipline."

RESIDENT EVIL EXTRA WALKING AGAIN AFTER SET COLLAPSE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:10 pm

An actress who damaged her back in an accident on the set of the upcoming fifth RESIDENT EVIL movie has taken her first steps as she recovers from her injuries.
Several actors dressed as zombies and four members of the production team were hurt when a platform used for a chase sequence crashed to the ground at Canada’s Cinespace Film Studios on Tuesday (11Oct11).
The injured were taken to local hospitals for treatment and subsequently released - except one actress, named April, who hurt her back and remained under doctors’ care.
The franchise’s star Milla Jovovich visited April on Tuesday night and has been keeping her Twitter followers updated on her condition - and she’s revealed the actress is responding well to treatment.
In a series of posts on the social networking site, Jovovich writes, "She was out of bed and walking about 2 day (today) which is such great news! What a strong woman, could give me some lessons! "(Her brother) told me that the doctor hadn’t seen her after the preliminary examination, which I hope is a good sign. She is on pain meds and staying in bed at the best fracture/injury hospital in toronto.
"She texted me yesterday to say that she was feeling stronger and wanted to recover quickly for her family and friends! She’s so amazing!"
