ROSES REUNION GIGS SELL OUT IN RECORD TIME

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:19 pm

Reformed rockers the STONE ROSES have smashed the record for gig sales in the U.K. after all 240,000 tickets for their comeback concerts sold out in less than an hour on Friday (21Oct11).
The band announced on Tuesday (18Oct11) they are reuniting for two huge shows in their hometown of Manchester, England next June (12) which will be followed by a world tour.
Within seconds of the gigs going on sale on Friday, the three official websites providing tickets crashed due to the overwhelming demand - and 14 minutes later, both shows at the 80,000-capacity open-air venue had sold out.
WENN revealed on Tuesday that the band had provisionally booked the venue for a third night, on 1 July (12), and after the two comeback shows sold out on Friday, tickets for the extra gig were made available - and were also snapped up within 15 minutes.
It means the Stone Roses sold 240,000 tickets in less than an hour - smashing the record held by Oasis, who took a day to sell all 250,000 tickets for their shows at Knebworth in 1996.
Stone Roses frontman Ian Brown says, "We plan on spending the rest of the day jumping up and down with our hands in the air."

KIDNAPPER WANTS HAUER FILM INJUNCTION

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:19 pm

A jailed crime boss has launched legal action to block a new movie starring RUTGER HAUER because he’s furious at the onscreen portrayal of his character.
Willem Holleeder was part of a gang which kidnapped brewery boss Freddy Heineken in Amsterdam, Holland in 1983 for a $35 million (£22 million) ransom.
The notorious crime is the subject of upcoming movie The Heineken Kidnapping - but Holleeder wants it injuncted as he’s unhappy with the way producers have represented him in the film.
A court in Amsterdam has heard Holleeder wants to block the release to "protect his reputation". The movie is due to hit cinemas later this month (Oct11).
