DOUGLAS’ SON PLEADS GUILTY TO NEW DRUG CHARGE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:22 pm

MICHAEL DOUGLAS’s incarcerated son Cameron has pleaded guilty to a new drug possession charge.
Cameron Douglas is currently serving a five-year prison sentence after being convicted of methamphetamine possession with intent to distribute, and one count of cocaine possession, stemming from an arrest two years ago.
And now he faces an additional 18 months behind bars after authorities found what appeared to be heroin and cocaine in the 32 year old’s cell.
On Thursday (20Oct11) Cameron admitted to smuggling narcotics into prison since May (11), telling the court, "God knows I’m sorry about this situation." The charge carries a maximum 20-year prison term but prosecutors have already offered up a plea deal, which would require Cameron to spend an additional one to one-and-a-half years behind bars.
Cameron’s dad Michael Douglas tells the Associated Press, "Cameron accepts full responsibility for his conduct. While he has made much progress, he is still not cured.
"Most people and their families are able to address this illness privately and outside the spotlight. Unfortunately this has not been possible here - for reasons completely outside of his control. He thanks those that have rooted for his recovery and looks forward to the day when he will not disappoint." He will be sentenced on 21 December (11).

Vegetarian singer KATE BUSH has reassured animal loving fans she’s not wearing real fur in the posters promoting her new album.
The Wuthering Heights singer recently posed for a series of photos to advertise the release of her latest record, 50 Words For Snow, and she felt compelled to defend the artwork on her official website ahead of its release next month (21Nov11) - because she’s afraid her clothing selection may cause unwarranted outrage.
She writes, "We have recently taken some photos and I just want to pre-empt any concerns there might be, as I’m sure most of you will feel the same way as I do about wearing real fur. All the fur in these photos is synthetic."

RODGERS: ‘I’M UP FOR QUEEN REUNION AT THE OLYMPICS’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:16 pm

Rocker PAUL RODGERS has given QUEEN fans hope he’ll reteam with BRIAN MAY and ROGER TAYLOR for a spectacular to open the Summer Olympics in London next year (12) by revealing he’s open to the idea.
The former Free and Bad Company singer, who fronted the Queen + Paul Rodgers tour from 2005 to 2009, insists he hasn’t heard from May and Taylor about a much-publicised and hoped for reunion - but he wouldn’t say no.
He tells Billboard.com, "No one’s actually approached me yet, but I would be open to something like that, I must say.
"I think we did fantastically well. We were up against potential disaster, really, and I think we really pulled it off. Toured the world a couple of times. Made a brand new studio album. I just didn’t want to do it forever… but, for something like this (the Olympics), that would be ideal." Rodgers has been the only singer to tour with Queen since the death of Freddie Mercury in 1991.

BALDWIN’S KIDS TAKEN FROM MOTHER’S CARE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:13 pm

Actor DANIEL BALDWIN’s daughters have been removed from their mother’s care by child welfare officials amid fears for their safety.
The Mulholland Falls star’s estranged wife Joanne received a visit from Department of Human Services representatives in Oregon on Wednesday night (19Oct11), after officials decided to take the couple’s two young daughters away.
They were placed under the care of a family friend until Thursday night (20Oct11) when Baldwin will return home from shooting a movie.
In a statement issued to Eonline.com, Baldwin says, "Sadly I must report that my daughters, Avis and Finley, have been removed from their mother’s home by the Department of Human Services in Oregon last night.
"DHS is sighting multiple potential improprieties and the children’s welfare as reasons for this action. The children were removed from Joanne’s home and given to a family friend and are in this friend’s custody until I return from filming in Texas (on) Thursday night.
"At this time, in accordance with DHS’s directive, the children will return to my care. I am sad for all involved but feel that this measure was in the girls’ best interest. I love my beautiful babies and will continue to be the caring protective parent I have always been." The incident took place on the same day it emerged the Baldwins’ divorce is back on. Joanne filed papers earlier this month (Oct11), weeks after the actor agreed to dismiss his initial petition in August (11).
In the divorce papers, Joanne requested sole custody of their two girls and demanded $4,000 (£2,500)-per-month in child support.
The couple wed in 2007.
