RAMPLING: ‘VON TRIER WAS ILL WHILE FILMING ANTI-CHRIST’
Embattled moviemaker LARS VON TRIER was battling ill health while making controversial film ANTI-CHRIST, leaving friends worried about his welfare.
The Danish director even confided in pal Charlotte Rampling that he didn’t think he’d be able to complete the film.
She tells WENN, "He was not well when he shot Anti-Christ. He came up and said he didn’t know if he would be able to finish the film, and with anxiety and crisis he would leave the set. It was really hard for him.
"We suffered looking at him not being able to cope with everything." But Rampling was delighted to see her friend back on form when she joined the cast of Melancholia: "For this, he was good and saying how happy he felt and that was just nice to see him pick up (his spirits)."
