Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:07 pm

Embattled moviemaker LARS VON TRIER was battling ill health while making controversial film ANTI-CHRIST, leaving friends worried about his welfare.
The Danish director even confided in pal Charlotte Rampling that he didn’t think he’d be able to complete the film.
She tells WENN, "He was not well when he shot Anti-Christ. He came up and said he didn’t know if he would be able to finish the film, and with anxiety and crisis he would leave the set. It was really hard for him.
"We suffered looking at him not being able to cope with everything." But Rampling was delighted to see her friend back on form when she joined the cast of Melancholia: "For this, he was good and saying how happy he felt and that was just nice to see him pick up (his spirits)."

GOTTI MOVIE ‘ON HOLD’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:28 pm

JOHN TRAVOLTA’s upcoming movie about the notorious GOTTI family has been put on hold due to financial issues, according to a U.S. report.
The Hollywood actor is due to star as late Mafia boss John Gotti, who died in prison in 2002, in upcoming movie Gotti: In the Shadow of My Father, alongside his real-life wife Kelly Preston and Al Pacino.
Filming is slated to begin in January (12) ahead of a 2012 release date, but a new report suggests production has been put on hold.
Showbiz411.com reports work on the project has come to a halt and won’t resume until more financing is secured.
A source tells the website, "If (producer) Marc Fiore doesn’t come up with money this week, and doesn’t show that more is coming, and that he’s really secured financing, it could all fall apart." The film’s producers are also facing a legal battle with Goodfellas star Joe Pesci, who is suing bosses at Fiore Films over allegations he was offered a $3 million (£2 million) deal to play Angelo Ruggiero, an associate of Gotti, but was later told he would be given a smaller part.

JACKMAN REGRETS MISSING SOCCER INVESTMENT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:28 pm

HUGH JACKMAN will always regret turning down an opportunity to invest in his beloved British soccer club, because the team went on a winning run after he rejected the deal.
The Australian’s actor’s mother lives in Norwich, England and he has become a fan of Norwich City Football Club over the years, even visiting the team’s home ground, Carrow Road.
He was offered the chance to become a part-owner of the club a year ago, but turned the offer down.
The team subsequently won a promotion which elevated them to playing in England’s top league, and Jackman admits he should have accepted the deal.
He tells BBC Radio Five Live, "Sometimes I make big mistakes. I got a letter about a year ago saying, ‘Being such a huge Norwich City fan would I like to be a celebrity investor?’, like a small part-owner. I said, ‘I think that’s a little stretched, I’ve been to Carrow Road once, my mum took me’, so I decided not to invest. And since then they’re on a run, so what do I know? "People say to me about these underdog stories in Hollywood, ‘It never happens in real life’, but hey, Norwich City are in the Premier League."

SIR PAUL McCARTNEY’s wedding reception on Sunday (09Oct11) was interrupted by council officials who ordered the host to turn down the music following complaints from neighbours.
The Beatles legend married American heiress Nancy Shevell at a registry office in London and the reception took place in a marquee outside the star’s mansion in the city’s St John’s Wood.
McCartney took the microphone during the party and sang a number of songs, including a special track for his new bride, and superproducer Mark Ronson DJ’d for guests including Ronnie Wood and Kate Moss.
However, the noise levels infuriated the musician’s neighbours, who called officials at Westminster City Council to complain, according to Britain’s Evening Standard.
The newspaper reports a noise abatement team arrived at McCartney’s house around 1.30am local time to tell the host to turn down the music. They then monitored the event until its conclusion.

WALSH DENIES COYLE RUMOUR

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:25 pm

GIRLS ALOUD star KIMBERLEY WALSH has blasted rumours NADINE COYLE has left the band, insisting a recent group photograph without her was taken "on the spur of the moment".
The Love Machine hitmakers, who are currently on hiatus, sparked speculation they had shed Coyle and become a four-piece after posting a photo on Twitter.com featuring just Walsh, Cheryl Cole, Nicola Roberts, and Sarah Harding, with the title, ‘Girls night in’.
But Walsh has now spoken out to reveal the snap was an informal photo and insist there is "no mystery" over Coyle’s absence.
She tells Fabulous magazine, "That was taken at my house. We all got together like we do every few months. Sadly, Nadine couldn’t be with us because she was in the States, but we did miss her.
"There was no mystery about the picture, we just did it on the spur of the moment. We all hid our faces because we were all looking a bit spotty and we’d had a couple of bottles of wine. But we were having such a great time being together that we just wanted to share the moment with our fans. We’re all talking about the reunion, maybe for next year."

MINOGUE HAS THYROID TREATMENT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:22 pm

Singer-turned-reality TV show judge DANNII MINOGUE is receiving treatment for an under-active thyroid which caused her to shed weight after giving birth.
The Australian star had her first child, son Ethan, last year (10), but shortly after leaving hospital she fell ill and suffered a bout of appendicitis.
She spent months believing her subsequent tiredness and rundown state was a consequence of her new role as a mum, but she was eventually diagnosed with a thyroid condition.
And she’s confessed her health issues even took their toll on her relationship with former rugby star Kris Smith.
Minogue tells British magazine Stella, "Yes, that was a hard time for me. I was physically unwell and that takes its toll on everything. My thyroid stopped working and I had appendicitis. Leading up to that I was getting thinner and thinner, and stressing because I didn’t know what it was.
"Normally you put on weight if you have an under-active thyroid. But there is a percentage of people that have it reversed. It was very hard to concentrate, you can’t sleep, and I got very weak. They explain it to you as running a car without petrol.
"I was finding it hard to pick up Ethan and I was thinking, ‘I’m a new mum, I know I’m tired but surely it can’t be this hard?’. When you’ve just had a baby you think it must be normal tiredness. But it got to the point where I thought, ‘This cannot be normal’. Poor Kris. He was thinking after getting through the pregnancy and the baby that everything would be just fine and he couldn’t work out why I wasn’t well. It was bloody difficult." Asked if the couple is planning to extend its brood, Minogue replies, "Yes, but honestly until I get my health back on track it’s not a possibility."

She has signed up to write about her experiences for iVillage.com and in her first blog, Richards reveals her struggle to juggle family life with her work.
She writes, "I think one of the questions I’m most often asked is how do I balance it all, how do I balance being a single working mom…. My children come first - they are my first priority…
"I recently started turning my phone off once a week and just spend that day with my kids with no outside distractions. I actually didn’t realize how much I used my phone until I turned it off! CRANSTON DEFENDS TOTAL RECALL REMAKE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:19 pm

Actor BRYAN CRANSTON has defended movie bosses’ decision to remake TOTAL RECALL, insisting the new film will be much "better" than the 1990 original.
Cranston stars alongside Irish actor Colin Farrell, who takes over the role made famous by Arnold Schwarzenegger, in the new adaptation of Philip K. Dick story’s We Can Remember It for You Wholesale.
The Malcolm in the Middle star insists the new script is better than the 1990 film and he is more confident in lead actor Farrell.
He tells New York Magazine, "I don’t think there is much of a challenge at all. I think the script is better. We certainly have a tremendous upgrade in our lead actor. That is less of a comment on Arnold (Schwarzenegger) and more of a comment on Colin (Farrell).
"The special effects over the last 20 years have grown exponentially, so that is going to be a heightened experience. And I just think it is an exciting movie. You know it’s going to entertain - I can guarantee you that." The new Total Recall movie is slated for release in August next year (12).

DOWNEY, JR. ‘DISAPPOINTED’ BY IRON MAN 2

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:19 pm

ROBERT DOWNEY, JR. has hailed IRON MAN as the film that changed his life, but insists he found the superhero sequel "disappointing".
The actor reaffirmed his place in the Hollywood A-list playing inventor-turned-superhero Tony Star in the 2008 film following a career slump due to years lost in drug addiction.
Downey, Jr. is convinced the success of Iron Man turned his fortunes around, but he was less than impressed with its 2010 sequel, which opened to mixed reviews from critics.
He tells the Los Angeles Times, "The first one changed everything for me. And with the second Iron Man there were certain aspects that were dissatisfying and disappointing to me but at least they lit me right.
"(The first one) was a meditation on responsibility and an exploration of how a small group of people can take a two-dimensional idea and, if the winds are right, create something that makes people say, ‘That was my favourite movie of the year’…
"I love a good action movie - a Steve McQueen or Tom Cruise or Clint Eastwood, Bruce Willis or Mel Gibson in the right spot, and you smile and say, ‘That’s what this kind of movie is all about.’" Downey, Jr. also admits he was surprised to land an Oscar nomination for his controversial ‘blacked-up’ role in 2008’s Tropic Thunder, because he feared the part would undo all the hard work he put into Iron Man.
He adds, "I signed up to do it and then I did Iron Man and I thought, ‘You know, I think I just buried myself. I did a movie that is going to re-establish me here in a little way and now I’m going to squander any good will I have’… This movie ended up being the most cathartic thing I had done in ages and one of the happiest times in my life."

SWINTON PLANNED TO KILL HER BABY BROTHER

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:19 pm

Oscar-winning actress TILDA SWINTON has sensationally confessed she tried to kill her own brother when he was a newborn baby.
The Michael Clayton star was around four years old when she became resentful at having three brothers and decided to take the life of the youngest child.
But when she approached his cot, she saw the baby chewing his bonnet and removed it from his mouth - and was hailed a lifesaver by her parents.
Swinton admits she buried the incident deep in her memory and only recalled it in 1993 when the murder of two year old James Bulger by ten year olds Jon Venables and Robert Thompson shocked her native Britain.
She tells the Telegraph Magazine, "Years ago, when James Bulger was murdered, every newspaper front page was talking about evil. At that point, having suppressed it for years, I remembered when I was four or five, I tried to kill my own brother. He was newly born and I was disappointed, because he was the third boy. That was enough as far as I was concerned.
"I went into his room to kill him, saw some ribbons from a bonnet going into his mouth, and began to pull them out. And I was discovered saving his life. So I had this strange reputation - my brother’s saviour - and no one knew I wanted to kill him. It took the Bulger case for me to remember that I’d seriously wanted to."
