WINEHOUSE’S UNHEARD ALBUM TO BE RELEASED

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:16 am

An album of AMY WINEHOUSE’s unheard tracks is set to be released in December (11).
The tragic singer’s father Mitch Winehouse has revealed he was impressed by the songs his daughter recorded before her death in July (11) and wants to share them with her fans.
He tells Britain’s The Sun, "I spent so much time chasing after Amy - telling her off - that I never realised what a true genius she was.
"It wasn’t until I sat down with the rest of the family and listened to this album that I fully appreciated the breadth of her talent. From jazz standards to hip-hop songs, it took my breath away." The record - which will hit stores on 5 December (11) - will feature tracks written at the height of the star’s drug problems, as well as songs examining her relationship with ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil.
A slice of the profits from all sales will go towards the Amy Winehouse Foundation, the charity set up by her family to help other youngsters struggling with addiction issues.
Winehouse’s death was ruled as "misadventure" from drinking too much alcohol.

MCCARTNEY ORGANISES MOTOWN PIANO RESTORATION

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:10 am

SIR PAUL McCARTNEY has organised restoration work on a piano used by several Motown legends after he tried to play the instrument during a trip to the record label’s museum.
The former Beatle wanted to show off his musical skills on the 1877 Steinway grand piano during a visit to the Motown Historical Museum in Michigan over the summer (11) after finding out it had been played by the likes of Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson and Stevie Wonder.
Officials advised him the piano was no longer in working order, so he offered to help get the historical piece restored to its former glory.
The museum’s CEO Audley Smith, Jr. tells The Detroit News, "He was disappointed when we told him it didn’t play." McCartney then got in touch with restorers at Steinway & Sons, who have promised to fix the instrument.
A spokesperson for the company says, "Steinway & Sons is honoured to restore the historic Steinway piano that was used by such legends as Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson and Stevie Wonder - and to do so in the very same New York factory where it was originally built in 1877.
"We’re especially proud, as an American company, to help the Motown Museum in preserving the legacy of the Motown Record Company, whose artists and albums played such a vital role in one of the great eras of American music."

A source tells the publication, "Gaga would one day like to set up a foundation in her name to help children and, now her career has really taken off, she feels as if it’s the right time to do something. She isn’t the type of celebrity who just throws cash at things though.

21 AND OVER MOVIE BOSSES CRITICISED OVER FILMING LOCATION

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:07 am

Movie bosses behind upcoming film 21 AND OVER have come under fire from human rights activists for shooting the picture in a controversial Chinese city.
Famous blind peace activist Chen Guangcheng is reportedly being held under house arrest in Linyi, China despite desperate attempts from supporters to rescue him.
Executives at Relativity Media have since set up camp in Linyi to film the comedy starring Twilight’s Justin Chon and Rabbit Hole’s Miles Teller, and in a recently-issued company press release, they described the city as an "amazing" place.
The news sparked an outcry from campaigners, who have criticised movie bosses for turning a blind eye to Guangcheng’s plight.
Activist He Peirong tells the Associated Press, "I hope Relativity Media will learn more about the real Linyi… Especially at this time, when every day there are people trying to visit Chen Guangcheng, people who have been robbed and beaten, I express deep regret to see such remarks whitewashing the city of Linyi." Some campaigners have vowed to protest the movie’s release and now Human Rights Watch’s senior Asia researcher Nicholas Bequelin insists the studio may be in the wrong.
He says, "They seem to be eager to assume this role of being a prop in Linyi’s propaganda campaign to cast itself as a civilised municipality that promotes culture when the reality is that it is not only holding one of China’s most prominent human rights defenders, but going to extraordinary lengths to persecute him."

MCAVOY BROKE WIND IN FRONT OF JOLIE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:16 am

Scottish actor JAMES MCAVOY was forced to apologise to his WANTED co-star ANGELINA JOLIE after he suffered a bad bout of flatulence on-set.
The Atonement star bulked up for his role in the 2008 action film by eating a lot of meat and drinking protein shakes, but the diet had an unpleasant side effect and he was left red-faced after breaking wind in front of the glamorous actress.
He tells TV host Graham Norton, "There was a lot of eating too much meat and drinking too much protein shake… They (producers) leave you on set shooting a scene in a car for three days… Which is fine… but eventually you have to get this protein shake out of you and it always comes out as flatulence.
"So you’re in this car for three days, and for a large portion of these three days, Angelina Jolie is in the car with you. And eventually after a day and a half or so, you have to turn to her and go, ‘Listen, I’m sorry, it’s not my fault that you just got into this car or that my protein shake just said hello. I’m really, really sorry. How are Brad and the kids by the way?’…
"She was great about it, she’s got a good sense of humour and a terrible sense of smell."

WIRE SLAMS ‘CASH COW’ TV TALENT SHOWS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:13 am

MANIC STREET PREACHERS star NICKY WIRE is unimpressed with the rise in TV talent shows, insisting the "cash cow" programmes are creating "a waste of talent".
The rocker took aim at Simon Cowell’s The X Factor during an interview on Britain’s The Jo Whiley Show, and he’s convinced the series is alienating "genuine bands or artists" who struggle to compete in the charts against high-profile contestants who release albums.
He says, "The real drawback is the record industry is becoming obsessed with it as a vehicle to sell records.
"That’s the real downside because there’s a lot of waste of talent out there - genuine bands or artists who don’t get the chance anymore because it is such a cash cow."

"I didn’t book anything in my diary for the rest of the year and thank God because I haven’t got the energy to do anything else. When I get to Monday morning I’m completely drained. I’ve had lots of sleepless nights and my stubble is going grey."
