DEGENERES SUFFERS CHEST PAINS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:42 am

Beloved U.S. TV personality ELLEN DEGENERES was caught up in a health scare on Monday (26Sep11) after suffering chest pains during a production meeting.
The comedienne was planning ahead for her hit daytime talk show on the Warner Brothers lot in Los Angeles when she started complaining of problems.
TMZ.com reports the Burbank Fire Department dispatched a crew to the scene just before noon local time and DeGeneres was checked out by paramedics.
Feeling fine hours after the medical emergency, DeGeneres sent a statement to WENN, revealing the problems started at home on Sunday night.
She writes, "I woke up in the middle of the night. I was feeling a tightness of my chest and all the scary things… like something was heavy on my chest and it was a cat so I moved it. I still felt the tightness and heaviness, so there was another cat under that cat. There were two cats on my chest. Then I got to work and it was still happening. I was still feeling the pains.
"I was like… ‘I should check this out. It’s better to be safe than sorry.’ Who doesn’t want to see a fireman occasionally? "We called the paramedics here on the Warner Bros. lot and about 50 trucks and ambulances, like, one marching band short of a parade showed up outside of my office. Then they come in with an axe. Break the door down. It was open. I don’t know why they did that. They came in, they asked me all the questions - ‘How are you feeling? When did it start? Family history…?’ "But everything is fine. I don’t know what it is but it’s fine…. I want to say thank you to all the paramedics and the nurses who showed up."

CAMPBELL STILL A ‘WORK IN PROGRESS’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:27 pm

NAOMI CAMPBELL is still a "work in progress" as she continues to battle the anger issues which previously landed her in trouble with the law.
The British supermodel underwent anger management classes following a 1998 attack on her former assistant, and she also carried out a 200-hour community service sentence in 2008 for assaulting two police officers at London’s Heathrow Airport.
Campbell is adamant she is now a changed woman, but she is still working on controlling her temper.
In an interview with U.S. TV show CNBC Meets, due to air on Wednesday (28Sep11), she says, "(I am a) work in progress. I’ve apologised, accepted responsibility, I did my community service… It’s more like seeing or understanding a pattern you have to break." The 41-year-old catwalk star also opens up about her crippling battle with drug addiction, revealing she is glad to have put her troubled past behind her, adding, "The challenge was to go back and face things I hadn’t dealt with, (it’s) scary for anyone to go and look at themselves in the mirror and deal with them, leave that baggage there and move forward.
"I didn’t feel good. I didn’t want to work. I lost many friends. I was emotionally and physically drained. I don’t look back on it in a negative way. That was my calling, my path… everyone’s path is different."

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:24 pm

Actress KIRSTEN DUNST is convinced almost everyone suffers depression at some point in their lives and anyone who doesn’t must be "weird".
The Spider-Man star battled the condition in 2008 and checked herself into the Cirque Lodge treatment centre in Utah to receive professional help.
Dunst plays a severely depressed woman in her latest movie Melancholia, and the actress admits she can’t understand people who haven’t been through similar troubles.
She tells Canada’s Flare magazine, "People are embarrassed to talk about it. I would never put anyone down (who) was in that kind of space.
"I think most human beings go through some sort of depression in their life - and if they don’t, I think that’s weird."

SCHWARZENEGGER COMMISSIONS STATUES

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:24 pm

ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER has been immortalised in bronze after commissioning three larger-than-life-size statues of himself.
The Hollywood actor ordered three of the eight-foot (2.4-metre) tall replicas, which show the star posing in his bodybuilding days, based on a 22-inch (56-centimetre) sculpture created by Idaho artist Ralph Crawford in 1980.
The first statue has been completed and Schwarzenegger was photographed inspecting the piece at the TW Bronze gallery in Wallowa County, Oregon earlier this month (Sep11).
TW Bronze owner/artisan Tim Park tells the Wallowa County Chieftain newspaper, "His exact words were, ‘This is fantastic,’ and he said it about four times." The first statue has been shipped to Schwarzenegger’s childhood home in Thal, Austria, where a museum there is dedicated to his life and career.
A second piece, which is expected to be complete by the end of the month (Sep11), is reportedly going to be sent to Columbus, Ohio, where the Arnold Classic professional bodybuilding competition is held every year.
Schwarzenegger will reportedly keep a third statue for himself.

HILL HIT WITH ANOTHER LAWSUIT OVER 2007 TOUR

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:21 pm

LAURYN HILL is facing another lawsuit stemming from her 2007 European tour over her alleged failure to pay her bills.
Last month (Aug11), guitarist Jay Gore sued the former Fugees star for $20,000 (£12,500) over claims she didn’t pay him for work during the trek four years ago (07).
He also used his lawsuit to highlight Hill’s alleged diva antics, claiming she "exhibited the type of behaviour for which she had gained public notoriety which contributed to a hostile work environment." Now bosses at fashion consultant company Via Davia Vintage have also filed suit against Hill.
In documents obtained by TMZ.com, company chiefs claim they provided the star with "an entire wardrobe of high fashion items", which she agreed to pay for in a fixed weekly fee over four weeks.
However, the lawsuit suggests Hill allegedly kept the clothes for three months and only paid a small amount of the agree deal, before only returning 30 per cent of the items.

PRODUCERS STILL WANT PESCI FOR GOTTI FILM

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:18 pm

Producers behind an upcoming gangster movie are still hopeful JOE PESCI will accept a role in the film, even though the actor has filed suit over claims they reneged on a casting agreement.
The Goodfellas star is suing bosses at Fiori Films, the production company behind Gotti: In the Shadow of My Father, alleging he was offered a $3 million (£2 million) deal to play Angelo Ruggiero, an associate of late Mafia boss John Gotti.
Pesci claims the casting was announced at the Cannes Film Festival in France over the summer (11) and he even piled on weight in preparation for the role, only to be later told he would be playing a smaller part.
Producer Marc Fiori has now reached out to Pesci, insisting he hopes the legal battle won’t prevent the star from appearing in the film.
He tells the Hollywood Reporter, "During the past few days, there have been erroneous reports in the media that I have been making less than favourable comments about Joe Pesci. For the record, I am extremely fond of Joe, think he is a terrific actor and very much want him to be in the Gotti movie.
"It’s unfortunate we have become embroiled in a lawsuit; however, I am hopeful that we will resolve our differences and Joe will accept an offer from us to be in the film." The movie stars John Travolta and is due for release next year (12).

JOHANSSON SHOCKED BY FAMINE CRISIS IN KENYA

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:27 am

SCARLETT JOHANSSON has called for "extreme action" to be taken to tackle the famine crisis sweeping across the Horn of Africa, following a harrowing visit to a refugee camp in Kenya.
The Lost In Translation star serves as an Oxfam Ambassador and recently jetted to the East African republic to witness the plight of millions of Somali refugees who have left their homes in a bid to find food.
Johansson has now vowed to highlight the issues which urgently need to be addressed by world leaders.
She says, "The scale of poverty in Dadaab (refugee camp) is overwhelming. I met countless women like Hawa, a local community leader, who lamented the seemingly endless struggle of the Somali people, as refugees of war and starvation and now left to suffer everyday life with the very barest of essentials.

"This is a longterm and escalating crisis exacerbated by political conflict, famine and drought that can no longer be ignored. Over half the Somalis that have died are children; an entire generation lost.
"This is no longer an issue that can only garner some attention, some of the time. Extreme action must be taken by the global community now."

MARS THRILLED BY TWILIGHT SOUNDTRACK SPOT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:24 am

BRUNO MARS is eager to watch the upcoming TWILIGHT movie after producers picked one of his songs for the soundtrack.

But Mars has no idea how his song will feature in the film, and he’s keen to view the final edit.
He tells Billboard, "I thought that it would be a perfect fit. The Twilight movies for me (are) a love story. But it’s a dark love story. And I think the best way to describe the song is: it’s the darker side of love. I think that pretty much sums it up.
"As long as it’s not after the credits (I’m happy). I hope it’s in a good (scene)!"

FAN PRAISE SPARKS NOVOSELIC’S MEMORIES OF COBAIN

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:24 am

Rocker KRIST NOVOSELIC remembers late NIRVANA bandmate KURT COBAIN whenever he receives a compliment about the group’s material.
Nirvana split following the frontman’s suicide in 1994, but Cobain is never far from his bassist pal’s mind.
Novoselic reveals fans often thank him for the band’s contribution to music, especially their classic 1991 album Nevermind, which was re-released earlier this month (Sep11) to mark the record’s 20th anniversary.
And the musician insists it’s in these moments he likes to think about his tragic pal.
He tells Triple J, "People walk up to me and they tell me how much the music meant to them and I know because I’ve had that same experience when I listen to bands like Black Sabbath, Black Flag, Flipper, The Beatles - so I’ve had that same experience people share with me.
"Second of all, that’s a way for me to chalk one up for Kurt. Because he was such a committed, compelled artist and so driven to express himself.
"So when people say, ‘Hey man, Nirvana changed my life’ I just look up in the sky and say, ‘That one’s for you dude.’"

GAGA’S REP PLAYS DOWN PRIVATE POOL DEMANDS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:24 am

LADY GAGA’s representative has played down reports the singer transferred hotels in Las Vegas because she wanted a private pool, insisting the star "doesn’t care about that stuff".
The Bad Romance hitmaker, who was in Sin City to perform at the star-studded iHeartRadio musical festival over the weekend (23-25Sep11), checked into the posh Cosmopolitan hotel, but according to the New York Post she left because the property didn’t offer a private pool.
A Cosmopolitan spokesperson stated, "Lady Gaga did check out of the property, but she did not hate her room and had nothing but praise for the arrival staff, butlers, etc. She was looking for a private pool, which the resort doesn’t offer." However, her spokesperson has shot down rumours about Gaga’s diva demands, insisting the pop star only relocated so she could take advantage of a private recording studio at The Palms hotel.
Her rep Amanda Silverman adds, "It was not a whole drama. She moved to The Palms to do a recording. She had some meetings. She switched because she had stayed at The Palms before. It wasn’t like she hated her room, she doesn’t care about that stuff."
