CRONENBERG TELLS THE TRUTH ABOUT FILM SEX MYTH

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:42 am

Filmmaker DAVID CRONENBERG has dispelled the myth he and his wife had sex in front of the cast of A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE to help them perfect a rough love scene, insisting it was a story he and his leading man VIGGO MORTENSEN made up.
Promoting the 2005 film, Mortensen told reporters and TV interviewers that the maverick director had got down and dirty with his wife right in front of him and Maria Bello to show them how he wanted them to sex it up in front of the cameras.
But the controversial auteur has revealed the story was a lie.
Cronenberg tells The Hollywood Reporter, "When you are on the road doing publicity, you get very bored because people ask you the same questions, so Viggo and I spontaneously started to say outrageous things.
"Viggo said, ‘I really didn’t know how to do this sex scene on the stairs, so David said, I’ll show you with my wife, because we do this all the time.’ It was totally not true.
"But I said, ‘Yeah, you have to give your actor whatever help you can give him.’"

HARPER OPENS UP ABOUT CANCER BATTLE, LOSS OF THYROID

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:09 am

Cancer survivor HILL HARPER is having to watch what he eats and exercise religiously after his thyroid was removed in surgery.
The author and actor has been given the all-clear after undergoing surgery to remove his cancerous thyroid - but now he faces a constant battle to stay in shape.
He explains, "They (doctors) say that the cancer was pretty much localised in the thyroid, so when they took out my thyroid, I’m good. The only problem is I don’t have any more metabolism because my thyroid’s gone, so if I blow up like the girl in Willy Wonka, it wouldn’t be too good.
"Exercise is the key, so I’m just trying to exercise as much as I can." The CSI: NY star admits the cancer diagnosis was particularly scary for him because his father, grandfather and uncle had all succumbed to the disease.
He explains, "On the male side of my family, cancer has been very insidious and so I’m just attempting to live a lifestyle that doesn’t follow in their footsteps." Harper tells Access Hollywood Live he was shooting a movie when he realised something was wrong - he woke up one morning and couldn’t swallow: "I went to the doctor… and they stuck 16 needles in my neck to try to figure out what was going on, and it just made me take a step back."
