INDIAN ACTRESS THUKRAL BANNED FROM FILMS FOR ALLEGED AFFAIR

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:27 pm

Indian actress NIKHITA THUKRAL has been banned from making films for three years over an alleged affair with a co-star.
Bosses at the Kannada Film Producers’ Association placed the ban on the Saroja star after reports emerged alleging she has ruined the "domestic harmony of a fellow actor" by becoming romantically involved with married star Darshan.
The move came after Darshan was arrested in southern India on suspicion of domestic violence following a complaint from his wife Vijaylakshmi.
She later withdrew her complaint, but the dispute was reportedly about his relationship with Thukral.
The actress has vehemently denied the allegations and has labelled the movie ban "ridiculous", complaining she has never been consulted about her version of events.
Kannada Film Producers’ Association president Munirathnam Naidu tells the BBC, "If Nikhita (Thukral) apologises for her behaviour and says she will just work in films and not get involved in domestic affairs of fellow actors, we will withdraw the ban." But Thukral argues, "There’s nothing between us beyond a professional relationship. If Darshan has a problem with his wife, how am I responsible?" Heads at the association say the star is free to challenge the ban.

COPS CALLED TO ROWLAND’S HOME

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:33 pm

Cops were called to KELLY ROWLAND’s home in Miami, Florida over the weekend (10-11Sep11) to help the singer film scenes for a British talent contest.
The former Destiny’s Child star currently sits on the judging panel on the U.K. version of The X Factor and she flew eight potential contestants to her beachside house for the latest round of the show.
Singer/actress Jennifer Hudson joined Rowland to help choose four wannabe stars to go through to the live finals - but the shoot was brought to a standstill over unbearable noise from nearby jet skiers.
The X Factor host Dermot O’Leary tells Britain’s The Sun, "This guy was doing it on purpose. He kept waving and we had to call the police and eventually he left. The cops are like Miami Vice, and they sorted it out. We did have to stop filming for a while though."

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:33 pm

A remake of 1991 hit movie POINT BREAK is surfing back into action after an initial reboot was shelved following PATRICK SWAYZE’s death in 2009.
The late Ghost actor and Keanu Reeves starred in the original cult film, about a gang of surfers who rob banks.
Swayze was due to reprise his role as group leader Bodhi in a revamp, but the movie was abandoned after the star lost his battle with pancreatic cancer.
Now studio bosses at Alcon Entertainment have started work on the film, which will centre around extreme sports.
A representative tells Daily Variety, "The new version is set in the world of international extreme sports, and like the original involves an undercover FBI agent infiltrating a criminal ring."

WHITNEY HOUSTON is in talks to make her big screen comeback in a reboot of 1976 musical movie SPARKLE.

EQUALITY LEADERS HIT BACK AT KELIS’ RACISM RANT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:27 pm

Race equality leaders in the U.K. have hit back at R&B star KELIS’ rant about racism in Britain, insisting America has the same problems with prejudice.
The Milkshake hitmaker launched a furious broadside on Twitter.com on Monday (12Sep11) after she was insulted at an airport in London, claiming she was branded a "slave" by a fellow traveller.
She blasted race issues in the U.K. as "disgusting" and accused Brits of being "racially decades behind progression" - but officials at a leading race equality think-tank are adamant the problem is just as bad in the U.S.
A spokesman for the Runnymede Trust, the U.K.’s leading independent race equality group, tells WENN, "It’s worth noting that we’re not a multi-racial paradise in the U.K. but there is a fight back here, and there are lots of ways in which musicians like Kelis can contribute to that. Things like the UpRise music festival in London - 10,000 people making it clear they are against racism.
"But I don’t think we have got a huge amount to learn from America in terms of the racism that operates over there. We are struggling against racism in the same way as people are in the States. What’s interesting about it is you can be a star and be really famous and still not escape some of the racism that exists in both the U.K. and the States."

BACH EJECTS UNRULY FAN FROM GIG

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:27 pm

Rocker SEBASTIAN BACH became so infuriated with an unruly fan at a gig over the weekend (10-11Sep11), he ordered security guards to throw him out of the venue.
The former Skid Row star was performing in Raleigh, North Carolina when he spotted an apparently abusive male in the audience.
Midway through a track, Bach pointed at the man and shouted at him to leave immediately - before urging security staff to remove the fan from the premises.
In a film clip posted online, Bach can be seen telling the mystery man, "Hey, come here. Come here mother f**ker… get the f**k out of here. I want this guy to get the f**k out of here. F**k you. F**k you. Goodbye… get him out. You’re a f**king a**hole, f**k you.
"Get him the f**k out of here, otherwise I’ll get him the f**k out of here." The rocker continued his set after the man was removed from the venue.

MCGOVERN GLAD SHE LEFT BEHIND HOLLYWOOD BEAUTY PRESSURES

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:24 pm

American star ELIZABETH MCGOVERN is thankful she decided to settle in England, insisting older actresses find it much easier to land work away from Hollywood.
The Oscar-nominated beauty decided to turn her back on Tinseltown and move to the U.K. 18 years ago after falling in love with British director Simon Curtis.
And the Downton Abbey star is adamant she has no regrets about focusing on working in Europe - because she hasn’t come under pressure to have cosmetic surgery.
She tells Britain’s Daily Mirror, "It’s a mystery to me. As far as I can see women who have facelifts don’t look younger, just weirder. You see them on screen with these tight, little porcelain faces - then the hand goes up to the face and it looks like it belongs to an alien. I find it really freaky.
"Still, I think it’s better in England and in Europe in general where women are allowed to age and still get work - whereas in Hollywood it tends to be a different story.
"There are exceptions, like Meryl Streep. She’s one of few actresses of a certain age that a movie company are prepared to build a film around. But it’s a long way from the days of Bette Davis and Joan Crawford when mature women were celebrated on screen."

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:24 pm

Actor JAMES FRANCO made his number one fan’s day after buying up several of her artworks at the Toronto Film Festival earlier this week (begs12Sep11).
The Milk hunk was at the film event in Canada to discuss his own art installation Memories of Idaho when he spotted 13-year-old Macy Armstrong, the founder of the James Franco Forever page on Tumblr.com.
She had brought three Franco-inspired pieces of her work, including a yarn portrait, a canvas inspired by his 127 Hours movie and a collage of newspaper clippings - and the actor left with them all.
He told the stunned fan, "I saw that one on the Internet, someone sent it to me. I wanna buy those." Armstrong took to her fan page to write, "Ohmygod I don’t know what just happened but I can’t breath! I gave James my art! And he has my email! And he’s seen my 127 Hours painting!! AHHHHH.
"He looked at me, he spoke to me, and I’m pretty sure we mentally got married! Everyone on the street thinks I’m crazy because Im freaking out! Its like a dream!"

FONDA TOO ILL TO ATTEND TORONTO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:24 pm

Illness has forced JANE FONDA to scrap a planned trip to the Toronto International Film Festival in Canada, where she was scheduled to promote new movie PEACE, LOVE & MISUNDERSTANDING.
The actress was supposed to join director Bruce Beresford and co-star Catherine Keener at the festival, but pulled out over the weekend (10-11Sep11).
And in a post on her blog on Monday (12Sep11), she wrote, "Bummer! I was to be at the Toronto Film Festival today and tomorrow to support my newest film… but I have been sick with a persistent and very contagious bug for the last 5 days and had to cancel the trip." Fonda has also pulled an appearance on U.S. TV talk show The View to promote her new book.
But she’s making the most of her sick days: "One thing being sick has afforded me is the down time to watch college football and the U.S. Open (tennis tournament). The University of Michigan versus Notre Dame game - the first night game in Michigan’s stadium - was extraordinary. With three minutes remaining and Notre Dame up by a considerable lead, I emailed my friend Frank Belatti who is a Notre Dame alum and runs a program there, to congratulate him on his team’s win.
"No sooner had i hit send, than Michigan scored 3 touchdowns in a row (in the last 3 minutes!!) The amazing Denard Robinson threw the winning pass with 2 seconds to go. (Boyfriend) Richard (Perry) is a U of M alum so you can imagine the jubilation.
"Yesterday, though, things were glum when Serena Williams lost. We both adore her."

IRONS SIGNED UP FOR DEAD RINGERS AFTER 30 STARS SAID NO

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:21 pm

JEFF GOLDBLUM, AL PACINO and CHRISTOPHER WALKEN were among the big names who turned down the lead in DAVID CRONENBERG’s controversial 1988 movie DEAD RINGERS until JEREMY IRONS signed up.
Irons played identical twin gynaecologists in the dark, twisted David Cronenberg thriller adapted from Bari Wood and Jack Geasland’s book Twins - and even he wasn’t sure he wanted to be attached to the film.
Director Cronenberg flew to Britain to convince Irons to take the role a decade after he started casting.
He tells The Hollywood Reporter, "It was a tough sell. I literally went to 30 of the best American and Canadian actors… and they all said no.
"William Hurt said it would literally drive him over the edge of madness. You’d think playing twins would be a no-brainer, but they were based on real people… and that is hard to play.
"Jeremy Irons was the first slightly positive response. But it still took a year before we could get it together, at which point he was cooling and I went to London to talk him into it."

In a post on her website, Rimes writes, "My life is forever changed from this experience. One thing they all said to me is no one looks them in the eye when they see them on the streets, so there’s a deep loneliness there and a feeling of almost not existing.
"I will now always look anyone who’s homeless in the eye and smile. That smile could make their whole day."
