JAY-Z OFFERS UP SUPPORT FOR OBAMA’S 2012 RE-ELECTION

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:27 pm

Hip-hop superstar JAY-Z has offered up his support to boost U.S. President BARACK OBAMA’s re-election campaign, insisting his politician friend is still "the best man for the job".
The Empire State of Mind hitmaker was one of the big stars who backed Obama when he first joined the presidential race in 2008, and he celebrated with the Democrat at his inauguration ceremony in January, 2009.
Jay-Z admits the election of America’s first black president was "very inspirational" and he hopes Obama’s success at the polls will encourage aspiring politicians of all backgrounds to aim for the top.
He tells WENN, "It was very inspirational. And it made everyone feel like that whole American Dream, like, we were all a part of the American Dream finally. Like it was accessible to everyone… Now we have to get a female president and a Latino president and then we are on our way." Obama has launched his bid for a second term in the White House, and, despite the fact he has come under fire from critics for failing to do more to turn the lacklustre U.S. economy around during his time in office, Jay-Z is confident the leader will deliver if he’s given more time to sort out the country’s most pressing problems.
The rapper says, "I still think he is the best man for the job, so yes (I will campaign for him). I think he got a raw deal and he got a really tough economy. It’s going to test his mettle, which is great. You don’t get anything that you can’t handle. So he must be really special because he got (sic) a lot of work to do."

KUTCHER STILL WEARING HIS WEDDING RING AMID MARRIAGE STORM

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:27 pm

ASHTON KUTCHER is letting his jewellery speak for him amid reports he and his wife DEMI MOORE are facing marriage woes - he stepped out on Thursday (29Sep11) wearing his wedding ring.
The couple has been dogged by infidelity rumours and stories suggesting its union is under threat ever since Kutcher and Moore spent their sixth wedding anniversary apart last weekend (24Sep11).
A series of cryptic tweets sent by Moore, who refused to talk about her husband on the red carpet at a premiere in New York earlier this week (26Sep11), only served the fuel the speculation. She was also a no-show at a film premiere in Hollywood on Tuesday (27Sep11).
But Kutcher fired back with tweets of his own on Thursday (29Sep11), directing fans to Public Enemy’s Don’t Believe The Hype on his Spotify.com playlist and then writing, "When you ASSUME to know that which you know nothing of you make an ASS out of U and ME." And he also gave fans a visual sign his marriage is still intact during a visit to a Los Angeles motorbike shop - he was photographed leaving the store with two new bike helmets and he was wearing his wedding ring.

HAWN STILL PREFERS TO BE RUSSELL’S GIRLFRIEND, NOT WIFE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:24 pm

Actress GOLDIE HAWN refuses to marry her longtime boyfriend KURT RUSSELL, because she still prefers to be referred to as his girlfriend after 28 years.
The Private Benjamin star began dating actor Russell in 1983 after they co-starred in Swing Shift, and they have become one of few Hollywood couples whose romance has stood the test of time - without the need for marriage rings.
Hawn is adamant she has no plans to take the relationship to the next level - because they are "happy" with their lifestyle.
Speaking on U.S. talk show The View on Friday (30Sep11), she said, "We’re not gonna get married. I mean, we’re happy. I still like the idea that I’m his girlfriend. And, in a way, the kids like it. We asked the kids about marriage early on and we said, ‘Shall we get married?’… and they said, ‘No, no!’" But Hawn insists she would never force her own views on to her daughter Kate Hudson, who is preparing to wed for the second time after becoming a new mum.
Hawn explains, "I was married twice. I think that there’s a sense of idealism really about wanting to be married and have a family… My feeling is our journey is our journey, and there isn’t any way we’re gonna put a stop or should (put a stop to it) because it’s all a learning process. How are we gonna learn? How are we gonna know? "We follow our instincts and impulses. If they’re for the good, which is to create a family, to do something good, more power to you. If it works out, that’s awesome. If it doesn’t, well, you know you’re part of a very large statistic. So I think the whole way of looking at it is with an optimistic view." Hudson and British rock star Matt Bellamy announced their engagement in April (11) and welcomed their first child together, baby boy Bingham, in July (11). The Almost Famous actress was previously wed to The Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson.

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:24 pm

TONY BENNETT has revealed his latest duet partner AMY WINEHOUSE knew she was near death when they recorded the classic standard BODY & SOUL in London earlier this year (11).
The legendary crooner was thrilled to get the chance to perform with the tragic Brit at London’s Abbey Road studios for his hit new album Duets II, but he admits the collaboration had ominous undertones.
Bennett reveals he didn’t know it at the time, but recalling conversations he had with Winehouse and reviewing film footage of their time together, he realises his young friend was in trouble.
Appearing on Thursday’s (29Sep11) The Daily Show in America, he explained, "She knew that she was in a lot of trouble, that she wasn’t gonna live. It wasn’t drugs, it was alcohol ’til the end." And Bennett is disappointed he’ll never get the chance to perform with her again: "She was the only singer that really sang what I call the right way." Winehouse died in July (11). Her duet with Bennett was released on what would have been her 28th birthday (14Sep11).

Gibson, who has been developing his project for the past decade, came under attack from Jewish officials earlier this year (11) - they felt he was the wrong person to make a movie about the man who inspired Hanukkah following the anti-Semitic comments he made to a traffic cop during a driving under the influence (DUI) arrest in 2006.
And it appears Nash agrees - and he has a completed script for a planned mini-series.

ATKINSON REFUSES TO LET CRASH STOP HIM FROM DRIVING SPORTS CAR

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:24 pm

British actor ROWAN ATKINSON is refusing to let his terrifying road crash in August (11) put him off driving - he can’t wait for his sports car to be mended so he can get back behind the wheel.
The Johnny English star was left in agony when he fractured his shoulder after his McLaren F1 vehicle careered out of control and smashed into a tree as he drove through Cambridgeshire, England.
But the ordeal hasn’t killed Atkinson’s love of fast cars, and he can’t wait to drive the vehicle again.
He tells BBC Newsbeat, "It was a misjudgement and it was not a situation that one would wish to recreate in the future, but I’m fine… I think the car’s going to take a bit longer to mend than me but it will be mended, it will be back on the road again at some point.
"I’ll certainly be driving the car again, it hasn’t put me off the car but you’ve got to learn your and your vehicle’s limitations, so I think it’s definitely a lesson learnt and I would hope to not be in the same situation (again)."

O’CONNOR TEACHES KIDS TO SING

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:18 pm

SINEAD O’CONNOR is to add teacher to her resume - she’s planning to give singing lessons to students at her daughter’s school.
The Nothing Compares 2 U hitmaker, who has four children, is feeling nervous ahead of her first tutoring session at the facility in her native Ireland.
In a blog post on her website, O’Connor writes, "Am going to give my first ever singing lesson. At my daughter’s school. Always wanted to teach singing… Not sure how… But I’ll start with the distraction techniques. Biggest obstacle for singers is our mind. It gets in the way. Telling us ‘you can’t get that note’ etc. The next obstacle is, we listen to ourselves (judging). Next is we don’t sing in our own accents (well… I do… Because I am wonderful, as we already know)." But the singer will draw from the lessons she received as an aspiring star to aid her in her new job, adding: "I think singing for some people is a spiritual journey and or almost a marriage u make with ur self. A commitment to truly being u… ‘Bel Canto’. Beautiful singing. That is the method I learned from my teacher Frank Merriman at The Bel Canto School of Singing when I went to him for lessons around 94/95.
"He said ‘I’m not a singing teacher, I’m a free-er of voices’. He was gifted as a teacher. I’m not at all. But he gave me distraction techniques with which to free the voice."

GALLAGHER FEARS FURTHER LEGAL ACTION FOR TALKING ABOUT LIAM

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:18 pm

British rocker NOEL GALLAGHER is now overly cautious when he speaks publicly about his estranged brother Liam, because he fears he will be sued again.
The former Oasis siblings have been feuding with each other since the band split in 2009, which culminated in Liam issuing a high court writ against Noel earlier this year (11) over comments he made at a press conference.
Noel alleged the Wonderwall hitmakers were forced to pull out of Britain’s V Festival two years ago (09) because singer Liam had a hangover, but his brother was infuriated by the remarks and insisted he had a doctor’s note confirming he was suffering from laryngitis.
Now Noel fears more repercussions if he continues to make remarks about his sibling.
Asked about the legal battle, he tells NME.com, "Well I can’t even mention Liam’s name because I’ll get sued. If he hears your voice mentioning his name he’ll sue you. He’ll sue you behind this camera, he’ll sue the viewers of NME.COM for even thinking, even thinking about him. So bearing that in mind I’d like to say ‘no comment’."
