POLICE DROP INVESTIGATION INTO THE GAME CLUB FIGHT, RAPPER WILL NOT BE ARRESTED

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:18 am

Rapper THE GAME has escaped police custody for the second time in two weeks after cops decided not to arrest the star following an investigation into a fight outside a Los Angeles nightclub.
The Let’s Ride hitmaker was caught on camera scrapping with a fellow reveller outside the Colony nightclub on Monday night (22Aug11).
Footage, which allegedly showed members of The Game’s entourage restraining the rapper, and the alleged victim’s complaint prompted police to launch an investigation into the fracas.
But they’ve now announced they have no plans to arrest The Game for an alleged assault after speaking with him about the fight.
Eyewitnesses have told TMZ.com that the rapper, real name Jayceon Taylor, lashed out after his accuser spat on him.
It was the hip-hop star’s second run in with officials at the Los Angeles Police Department in a week - in a tweet posted on his Twitter.com page earlier this month (Aug11) wannabe interns were asked to call a number for a job; the number given was the emergency line to Compton sheriff’s station.
Hundreds of hopefuls called, jamming the phone line for over two hours.
The Game insists he didn’t post the tweet and sheriff’s officials later dropped their investigation into the incident after the rapper repeatedly apologised.
The star was arrested in 2007 for threatening another player in a South L.A. basketball game with a handgun. He pleaded guilty to a weapons charge and was placed on three years’ probation.

JONES’ REPS PLAY DOWN HEART SCARE REPORTS, INSIST SINGER WAS DEHYDRATED

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:15 am

Representatives for TOM JONES are playing down reports suggesting he suffered heart problems prior to a show in Monte Carlo, Monaco on Saturday (27Aug11), insisting the veteran singer was simply dehydrated.
The 71-year-old Welsh crooner was forced to cancel a show at the Sporting Club on his doctor’s advice, but the health scare had nothing to do with his heart.
A statement from the star’s management reads, "This was extremely disappointing for Tom, the band and all connected with the tour. This was the last date of a very successful three-month tour, where many of the shows were in locations that were in the throes of high summer heat. There are NO heart problems, as has been reported in the press.
"He (Jones) thanks everyone for their understanding and support, and hopes to see the fans in Monte Carlo again soon." It appears the alarm over Jones’ health problems may have been sparked by a tweet from theatrical producer David King, who wrote, "Tonight’s concert at the Sporting Club, Monte Carlo, cancelled as Tom Jones admitted to hospital with a heart scare." A representative from the Sporting Club says, "I received a call at 8.10pm informing me that the event had been cancelled because Tom Jones had been taken to hospital." Jones isn’t the only star who has been caught up in a bogus heart scare recently - U2 frontman Bono was forced to play down reports of a serious condition after he was hospitalised while on vacation in Monaco.
According to editors at RollingStone.com, the rocker had been admitted to Princess Grace hospital in Monaco on 17 August (11). He was allegedly checked by a heart specialist and told to rest, before being released.
But the frontman moved to quash the rumours, insisting he did attend the medical facility - but only for a planned routine check-up.
A rep for the star says, "Despite press stories to the contrary, Bono has not suffered a recent health scare. Reports of his being rushed to hospital for emergency treatment are untrue. Bono is in good health and enjoying a family holiday in the south of France."

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:15 am

The movie adaptation of KATHRYN STOCKETT’s bestseller THE HELP has scored a second week at the top of the U.S. box office.
The movie debuted behind blockbuster Rise of the Planet of the Apes when it was released earlier this month (Aug11), but it has become the sleeper hit of the summer (11), grossing more than $96 million (£60 million) in America alone.
Thanks mainly to Hurricane Irene on America’s east coast, it only earned $14.3 million (£8.9 million) over the weekend to take the top spot.
Zoe Saldana’s new film Colombiana is second and the Planet of the Apes prequel comes in third.
Debuts from Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark and Our Idiot Brother round out the new top five.

PUBLICIST PLAYS DOWN REPORTS OF LABEOUF’S PARTY TANTRUM

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:12 am

Actor SHIA LABEOUF’s publicist is playing down reports suggesting the actor became unruly at a party in Los Angeles on Friday night (26Aug11), insisting the TRANSFORMERS star’s exit from the bash has been "misinterpreted".
Guests told Life & Style magazine that the actor spat water over his date and rocker Marilyn Manson, who was also at the event at The Box nightclub, and that he appeared to be having "a public meltdown".
But LaBeouf’s representative Melissa Kates insists there was no incident and the whole thing has been taken out of proportion.
She tells WENN, "Shia actually left early… He went to see one of the bands performing in the showcase and left after they finished.
"Exiting through a crowded room was apparently misinterpreted. No altercation occurred." Onlookers had told Life & Style that LaBeouf "lunged through the very thick seated crowd, and the crowd pleaded with him and encouraged him to sit down".
One audience member told the publication, "Shia had to climb over people and tear himself out of the grasp of various strangers who were trying to keep him from going crazy. His date panicked and ran out after him.
"It was so insane. He just had a total meltdown right in front of everyone. It was completely out of control. He was so angry and physical. He was determined to get out of there."

O’NEAL WARHOL LAWSUIT REFILED

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:12 am

Officials at the University of Texas have refiled a lawsuit against RYAN O’NEAL over an iconic ANDY WARHOL portrait he owns which they claim is rightfully theirs.
O’Neal’s late lover Farrah Fawcett, who died in 2009, reportedly left her entire art collection to the University of Texas, her alma mater.
Producer/filmmaker Craig Nevius suggested a 1979 Warhol painting owned by O’Neal should have been among the items handed over to the school and that prompted lawyers for the university to file papers asking a judge to order O’Neal to return the piece.
The Love Story actor, who was a close friend of Warhol’s, claims the artist produced two copies of the Fawcett portrait, which is worth an estimated $30 million (£18.75 million) - one for the screen beauty and the other for O’Neal.
Federal court judges ruled they didn’t have jurisdiction in the case, and now university officials have refiled their complaint at Los Angeles Superior Court.
In court papers, university representatives state, "Mr. O’Neal has wrongfully converted the missing Warhol portrait that belongs to UT Austin. Mr. O’Neal was not included in Ms. Fawcett’s will, nor in the Fawcett Living Trust, and Ms. Fawcett’s express wishes as stated in the Farrah Fawcett Living Trust have been thwarted by such conversion." The original lawsuit was branded "ridiculous" by O’Neal’s spokesperson, while the actor is also suing Nevius for his "false, malicious and defamatory" comments, insisting he has suffered "humiliation, mental anguish and emotional distress" as a result.

DELANEY DUMBFOUNDED BY BUS DRIVER’S REQUEST AFTER SMASH

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:18 pm

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES star DANA DELANEY was left stunned when a bus driver asked for her autograph just moments after colliding with her car.
The actress was driving through Los Angeles when she grew angry with the behaviour of a fellow motorist, and was about to get out of the car to berate her when she decided to make a last-minute turn.
Delaney reveals her decision was a mistake when a bus ploughed into her vehicle - but she was left even more shocked by the driver’s bizarre request.
She says, "I’d just left yoga classes at 8.30am with a cup of coffee and felt very calm driving my car until a woman behind me started hooting for me to make an immediate left turn even though people were crossing. I was about to get out to tell her to stop when the green light turned amber and I decided to make the turn…
"But at the same moment, I saw a bus coming towards me out of the corner of my eye. I thought, ‘You’ve got to be kidding.’ There was an almighty crash. My glasses had flown off and coffee was all over the place. Then the bus driver came over and when she recognised me from Desperate Housewives, she asked me for my autograph. I said, ‘I don’t think so.’"
