TAXI DRIVER screenwriter PAUL SCHRADER is turning his attentions to the deep blue sea and stepping behind the camera for a terrifying new shark movie.
The famous Martin Scorsese collaborator and moviemaker, who also penned cult classic Raging Bull, is sinking his teeth into the killer shark genre in Bait, which was written by American Psycho novelist Bret Easton Ellis.
The revenge movie will tell the tale of a group of rich kids whose yacht veers into dangerous waters.
The project will start shooting in November (11) off the coast of Puerto Rico.

DOMINIC COOPER has threatened to shame HAYLEY ATWELL by releasing saucy joke footage they filmed between takes on the set of CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER.
The British actress and her co-stars made their own version of superhero porn to amuse themselves while waiting for the cameras to roll.
But Atwell, who plays Captain America’s love interest in the blockbuster, is terrified Cooper will embarrass her by uploading the racy footage online.
She tells Nylon magazine, "We got up to a lot of mischief on set. There was a lot of waiting around, so he’d get out his iPhone and make videos of the characters when they think they’re not being watched. Like (my character) Peggy Carter giving Captain America a b**wjob in the cockpit of the plane.
"I spoke to Dominic yesterday and he threatened to put the video on YouTube."

STEVE GUTTENBERG has paid a touching tribute to his late POLICE ACADEMY co-star CHARLES ‘BUBBA’ SMITH, recalling his generous spirit and unforgettable laugh.
The towering former American football star, who played Moses Hightower in the film franchise, was found dead at his home in Baldwin Hills, Los Angeles on Wednesday (03Aug11). He was 66.
And a heartbroken Guttenberg insists Smith will be missed.
In a statement released to TMZ.com, Guttenberg says, "Bubba was my friend. His generosity was far larger than his physical stature.
"Only his gift for caring about his friends and family could compare with his achievements on the football field, film and television. He also laughed like no other."

HERBIE HANCOCK and JENNIFER HUDSON will help U.S. President BARACK OBAMA celebrate his 50th birthday with a concert on Wednesday (03Aug11).
The American leader, who turns 50 on Thursday (04Aug11), will mark his big day with a star-studded gala, which will raise funds for his campaign for re-election next year (12).
Jazz star Hancock and Hudson will take the stage at the Aragon Ballroom in Obama’s hometown of Chicago, Illinois.
Chicago rockers OK Go are also scheduled to perform at the gig.

DEMI MOORE is following in the footsteps of fellow actress KATIE HOLMES after signing up as a spokesmodel for U.S. retailer Ann Taylor.
The Ghost star shows off her youthful good looks in the fall campaign, which sees the 48 year old posing against a series of iconic New York backdrops.
And Moore admits Ann Taylor clothing has been a staple in her wardrobe over the years.
She tells Style.com, "I had actually mentioned to them that when I was a teenager and I moved to L.A., I remember going to the old Century City mall, and there was Ann Taylor. And it was a very prominent and memorable part of my youth and shopping experience." British singer ROBBIE WILLIAMS has blamed his "ego" for keeping him from joining TAKE THAT permanently.
The Angels hitmaker reunited with the group last year (10) and they hit the road for a European trek, their first shows together since Williams walked out on the group in 1995.
Williams relished the reunion tour, which wrapped up in Germany on Friday (29Jul11), but he is already making plans to release another solo album.
And he admits he’s far too self-centred to become a fully-fledged member of Take That again.
He says, "The gigs have been absolutely amazing - the best period of my career so far with those boys.
"Sharing it with somebody is much better than doing it by yourself, but then ego, want, need and a whole heap of other things kick in.
"And you start preparing for your own tour… and the other boys are going away for a bit and I don’t really know what’s on the cards with them. But we have to ride again, we have to - it’s too much fun."

Rapper SNOOP DOGG will be honoured at the BMI URBAN AWARDS later this month (Aug11).
The Gin and Juice hitmaker will be bestowed with the BMI Icon title, previously awarded to James Brown, George Clinton, Willie Nelson and Al Green.
The event honours urban songwriters who have “a unique and indelible influence on generations of music makers" and belong to Broadcast Music, Inc., - a performance rights organisation which represents more than 475,000 songwriters, composers and publishers.
Snoop Dogg will pick up his accolade at a ceremony at the Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles, California on 26 August (11).

MATT DAMON is "disgusted" after American politicians stalled on a deal to raise the U.S. national debt ceiling.
The Bourne Identity star was frustrated after officials came dangerously close to defaulting on bills after Republican and Democratic heads failed to agree on a way for the country to bring down the national deficit.
While a deal was finally cut just days before the Tuesday (02Aug11) deadline, Damon is furious over the tactics employed by the more right-wing members of the Republican party, who refused to compromise on raising taxes for the rich.
He told reporters, "I’m so disgusted… The wealthy are paying less than they paid at any time else, certainly in my lifetime, and probably in the last century. I don’t know what we were paying in the roaring ’20s; it’s criminal that so little is asked of people who are getting so much.
"I don’t mind paying more. I really don’t mind paying more taxes. I’d rather pay for taxes than cut (learning services) Reading is Fundamental or Head Start or some of these programs that are really helping kids."

A member of JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE’s security team was reportedly arrested on Tuesday (02Aug11) after an alleged confrontation with a member of the paparazzi.
A photographer, who had been taking pictures of the star, called the cops following a scuffle with the bodyguard outside London’s Nobu restaurant, as Timberlake and Mila Kunis dined together after promoting their new comedy, Friends With Benefits.
The unnamed guard was said to have left the scene, but he was later detained by police at top hotel The Dorchester, where Timberlake is staying.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police Service’s Scotland Yard confirms, "Police were called to Berkeley Square at approximately 9.45 last night. A man alleged he was assaulted. He suffered minor injuries. He did not require hospital treatment.
"Officers later arrested a 45-year-old man at a central London hotel on suspicion of common assault. He is being held at a central London police station. Enquiries are ongoing."

JULIA ROBERTS is welcome to a cameo role in GLEE - the TV show’s leading lady LEA MICHELE has named the PRETTY WOMAN actress as her dream guest star.

And Michele, who plays talented high school student Rachel Berry, hopes Roberts will be the next famous face to sign up - although she fears she would end up "dumbstruck" if they ever shared a scene.
Michele says, "We may not be able to work together because I would get so dumbstruck. There are a few people that I would get like that with. Even now I am getting tongue-tied just thinking about it. I would be a wreck if she were actually standing in front of me.
"It is just too much to think about. It is weird for me when I find myself talking to people that I have watched on the television or in movies all my life. I do get a little starstruck."

LINDSAY LOHAN’s hopes of making a career comeback in GOTTI: IN THE SHADOW OF MY FATHER have been dented after it emerged the star has not officially signed up for the project.
It was announced in May (11) that the troubled actress would play Kim Gotti, the wife of John Gotti Jr., in the upcoming gangster biopic alongside John Travolta and Al Pacino.
But producers admit they are still in talks with Lohan for the role.
Fiore Films spokesman Steve Honig tells Reuters, "Fiore is still very much in talks with Lindsay Lohan to play the role of Kim Gotti. The producers of the film and Lindsay’s representation have not yet worked out an agreement for her to appear in the movie. At this point, we cannot provide a definitive answer either way."

Rocker TOMMY LEE has turned down an offer to appear in hit U.S. reality show DANCING WITH THE STARS.
The wildman drummer was asked to star in the next season of the show, which pairs celebrities with a professional dancer.
However, he quickly rejected the offer, writing in a post on his Twitter.com page, "I’ve never hit the PASS button so quick." Lee’s ex-wife Pamela Anderson was a contestant on the series last year (10), while his Motley Crue bandmate Vince Neil appeared on Skating With The Stars in December (10).

Singer CEE LO GREEN is set to show off his acting skills by playing the father of rapper RAEKWON in the hip-hop star’s biopic.
The Wu-Tang Clan star recently penned his memoirs, and is planning on turning them into a big screen project, which will detail his early life in New York up to his rise to fame.
Green will play his dad in the movie, entitled C.R.E.A.M., and Raekwon has promised a whole set of stars will make up the film’s cast.
He tells XXL Magazine, "Cee Lo Green is playing my pops in the film. Cee Lo is going to play Raekwon’s old dad! He’s a good friend of mine. When I called him and told him about it he was just overwhelmed. He’s just one of the greats that are going to be on the project."

KISS stars PAUL STANLEY and GENE SIMMONS are teaming up to write a memoir.
Nothin’ To Lose will tell the story of the band’s formation in 1973 and features interviews with KISS members Peter Criss and Ace Frehley.
Editor Denise Oswald of publisher It Books says, "KISS is one of the most beloved and influential hard rock bands of the last 40 years. What is particularly fascinating about this project is about how the band got off the ground, how they came up with the concept of who they were that so defined them and captured the love and imagination of all of their fans.
"It’s also an amazing depiction of New York in the early seventies… you have members of The Ramones, members of Blue Oyster Cult, touring with and playing with Kiss. You really get this incredible portrait of a time." Nothin’ To Lose, which takes its name from the group’s first single, is due to hit shelves next summer (12).

ARETHA FRANKLIN has expressed her disappointment with her longtime songwriting partner after he launched a legal battle over royalty payments.
The singer is "extremely disappointed" over the lawsuit filed last month (Jul11) by Norman West, who has worked with the singer since the 1980s.
West is suing executives at Franklin’s publishing company Springtime Publishing over allegations they failed to sign a royalty agreement for a song called Put It Back Together Again, which appears on the star’s latest album, Aretha: A Woman Falling Out of Love.
The soul legend has now fired back, saying in a statement, "To say the least, I am extremely disappointed that Norman West had the unmitigated gall to file a law suit against Springtime Publishing, Inc. considering how I’ve personally assisted and advised him over the past fifteen years.
"I’ve helped Norman West make a name for himself in the music industry, earn a living and in the past I’ve used several of his songs on my CDs, which resulted in other artists performing and recording his compositions." In the lawsuit, West also accuses Springtime bosses of copyright infringement over an earlier song he wrote called Watch My Back.

A GREEN LANTERN sequel has been greenlit - and movie bosses have promised the follow-up will be "edgier and darker".
The big budget blockbuster, which starred Ryan Reynolds as the title character, took just $114 million (£70 million) at the U.S. box office earlier this year (11), making less than rival superhero movies including Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger.
But studio executives are moving forward with plans for another installment.
Warner Bros. President Jeff Robinov tells the Los Angeles Times, "We had a decent opening so we learned there is an audience. To go forward we need to make it a little edgier and darker with more emphasis on action… And we have to find a way to balance the time the movie spends in space versus on Earth."
