BANDERAS WAS ‘AFRAID’ OF MADONNA’S ATTENTIONS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:29 pm

ANTONIO BANDERAS was terrified after finding out MADONNA had him set in her sights, and refused to date the pop superstar because she was too "powerful".
The Material Girl famously flaunted her crush on the Spanish hunk in her outrageous 1991 documentary In Bed With Madonna, which saw her flirt with a shy Banderas at a party in Spain.
The actor admits he was a nervous wreck in Madonna’s presence - because he couldn’t speak English and didn’t know how to fend her off.
He tells Harper’s Bazaar, "I couldn’t speak English at the time. She said a lot of things at the table when we were having dinner - I couldn’t understand s**t. I was just flipping out that I was sitting down close to Madonna. She was very famous already, and we were just local people.
"It was kind of flattering when somebody said, ‘She likes you, a lot.’ I said, ‘Oh, really? I’ve no idea what I should do about this. I mean, I’m married (to first wife, Ana Leza).’ So, nothing happened.
"I was afraid of it at the time, because she was a very powerful woman. I didn’t want to be Madonna’s boy. For good or for bad, I just wanted to have my own career." The pair went on to star in the 1996 movie musical Evita together.

However, the plan was rejected by officials at the U.S. board on Geographic Names, who insist it is federal policy to avoid adding new names to federal wilderness areas.

D’ERRICO’S NOAH QUEST CANCELLED

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:23 pm

DONNA D’ERRICO’s ambitious quest to find Noah’s Ark has been cancelled because the former BAYWATCH beauty feared for her safety.
The Hollywood bombshell announced earlier this year (11) that she was heading out on an expedition to find the Ark in Turkey’s Mount Ararat, where the vessel came to rest in the Bible.
According to D’Errico, an eight-part documentary was being planned and she had been training for more than three months to prepare for the gruelling climb.
Despite the trek being her childhood dream, the devastated actress tells TMZ.com she has called off the trip over fears for her safety, citing a local guide who "relentlessly attempted to talk (her) out of" the expedition.

IRONS HUNTING FOR LOW-KEY THEATRE WORK

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:20 pm

JEREMY IRONS’ actor son MAX is hunting for low-key theatre work so he can keep "out of the limelight" following his star turn in RED RIDING HOOD earlier this year (11).
Max Irons received acclaim for playing Amanda Seyfried’s love interest in the thriller, but rather than capitalise on his fame, the 25 year old is keen to remain out of the spotlight.
And his father is delighted at Max’s decision, as he worries about the effect Hollywood will have on his son.
Jeremy Irons tells Britain’s The Sun, "My heart is in my mouth for him. Today it’s ‘grab ‘em and spit ‘em out’. In my day it was like that for girls but it now seems the same for boys.
"The business is difficult. There are so many good actors. Max has done two good plays but hasn’t had the luxury I had of churning out stuff in rep (repertory theatre) and failing privately. He’s looking for theatre stuff where he can be out of the limelight."

RONAN STARS IN ANTI-BULLYING CAMPAIGN

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:20 pm

Actress SAOIRSE RONAN is among the stars who have been transformed into abuse victims for a new anti-bullying campaign.
The Lovely Bones star can be seen crying in a dramatic photo included in the Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children’s (ISPCC) latest awareness drive.
Westlife singer Mark Feehily, who also features in the harrowing shots, came up with the idea for the campaign after he was targeted by bullies in his youth.
He says, "I know first hand how the impact of being bullied as a teenager can quite literally last a lifetime and I thought that if we could involve well-known ISPCC ambassadors perhaps people will think twice about bullying or indeed allowing bullying to happen.
"Everyone involved believes strongly that the message that emanates from each shot is a simple one. Bullying and abuse, whether verbal, physical or emotional, is unacceptable in today’s society." Music mogul Louis Walsh and singers John and Edward Grimes also appear bloodied and bruised in the shots.

COWELL SUED BY X FACTOR CONTESTANTS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:17 pm

SIMON COWELL is facing legal action over allegations he caused "mental anguish" to a pair of contestants who tried out for his upcoming U.S. TV talent show THE X FACTOR.
Hyman Marks, 86, and his 54-year-old son Stephen are suing Cowell over claims their audition as a father/son duo was ruined because they were left exhausted after filming a behind-the-scenes segment multiple times.
According to the suit, the hopefuls were repeatedly made to walk from a car into the Bank United Center in Miami, Florida as cameramen shot them from different angles. When they finally stepped in front of the judging panel, the Marks men claim they were too tired to impress.
Their lawsuit, obtained by TheWrap.com, states, "As a result of this grueling and discriminatory physical and mental exertion, the judges and the audience never got to see the real Hy Marks and Stephen Marks that day." The pair is suing Cowell and Fox TV executives for negligence, fraudulence of representation, and mental anguish.
They have also asked for another chance to audition.
The X Factor launches in the U.S. next month (Sep11).

BROMFIELD WAS KEPT IN THE DARK ABOUT WINEHOUSE’S DEATH

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:26 am

AMY WINEHOUSE’s pop star goddaughter DIONNE BROMFIELD was kept in the dark about the star’s death last month (Jul11) as she was minutes away from stepping onstage to perform when the news broke.
The 15 year old, who is signed to the late singer’s Lioness Records imprint, was preparing to play at a festival in Pontypridd, Wales on 23 July (11) when she felt the atmosphere change in the dressing room.
She found out Winehouse had passed away and that her mum and entourage had tried to keep the tragedy secret until she finished her gig.
But Bromfield insists she felt compelled to carry on with the show because it’s what her mentor would have wanted.
She tells BBC DJ Scott Mills, "I was in my dressing room 15 minutes before I was due onstage. My mum found out about an hour before but she didn’t tell me as I was about to perform and there have been so many hoaxes. No one wanted to believe it.
"Someone was doing my hair and everyone was kind of, do you know when people are sniffing and about to cry and you could just tell? "The whole atmosphere went from being happy to everyone just quiet, so I thought, ‘OK, something’s going on’, and I got someone’s iPad and looked on Google. Then I said, ‘It’s true, isn’t it?’ "I didn’t have a chance to think, my mind went blank, at first I was thinking, ‘It’s not true,’ because it’s happened two times before, you think it’s just some sick rumour, you’re waiting for someone to say it’s not true.
"I was thinking, ‘Oh God, I’ve got to perform’ and people were saying, ‘Don’t do it, if you don’t want to do it,’ no one was pressurising me, but I knew, Amy would want me to do it, she was one of my biggest fans, I didn’t want to be sitting there, crying. I thought, ‘Amy loved to see me perform, do it for Amy.’"

OLSEN NOT INVOLVED IN SEX PREQUEL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:26 am

ELIZABETH OLSEN is baffled by reports linking her to a SEX AND THE CITY prequel, insisting she’s not "cool" enough to step into SARAH JESSICA PARKER’s designer shoes.
Bosses behind the hit TV show, which was adapted into two movie installments, are reportedly planning to make a prequel, with Olsen, Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus and Blake Lively all tipped to play the four feisty New Yorkers.
But Olsen insists she has never been approached to star in a spin-off, and is adamant she wouldn’t dare try and compete with Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw.
She says, "My friend who loves blogs told me about (the rumour) when it was happening and it’s not real. I love Sex and the City and I would never pretend like I could ever be one of those ladies. No one is as cool as Carrie Bradshaw!"

The British capital has been under siege from groups of thugs who have looted stores, set fire to buildings and clashed with riot police in several areas across the city.

The Wire actor Elba, who was brought up in Hackney, another area hard hit by riots, writes, "I’m in London and this is Bulls**t!! The Protesters and Rioters are not the same people anymore.
