American stars WE ARE SCIENTISTS have joined forces with Northern Irish rockers ASH to record a song for charity.
The two bands are teaming up for a cover of songwriter Robert Manning’s track Washington Parks to raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
We Are Scientists bassist Chris Cain tells The Examiner, "The concept of the song is that if you listen to it on headphones or stereo, the musicians of Ash are on the left channel and all the We Are Scientists guys are playing it in the right channel. We’re playing the same song essentially but in different ways." Manning, who suffers from the debilitating disease, is selling the collaboration via his official website.
Singer Ed Harcourt and Emmy the Great have also recorded tracks for the project.

Country sweetheart TAYLOR SWIFT will celebrate the end of her world tour by treating her hard-working crew to a group vacation.
The Love Story singer is already looking forward to a relaxing holiday after she finishes her current Speak Now World Tour at the end of the year (11).
And Swift will have plenty of company on her trip - because she always invites her roadies and performers to say thanks for their hard work.
She tells The Kyle & Jackie O Show on 2Day FM, "We usually take everyone on a vacation, like everybody, every single person on the tour, band, dancers, crew.
"We usually pick somewhere beautiful and tropical… We haven’t started planning it yet because the tour is only halfway done. We do that, it’s really wonderful to take everyone on a trip."

Actor TYRESE GIBSON is taking a break from Hollywood to revive his music career.
Gibson found success as an R&B singer and model before hitting the big screen, appearing in the hit Transformers franchise as well as 2 Fast 2 Furious and Fast Five.
But now he’s returning to music with Open Invitation, his first album in five years.
He says, "After stepping away from recording to nurture and develop new aspects of my career, I’m excited to return to my first love of music, which ignited my amazing journey.

Three teenagers have been arrested over the London warehouse fire which destroyed albums by artists including ARCTIC MONKEYS and ADELE.
Police have taken two 17-year-old boys and another male, aged 18, into custody on suspicion of torching the Sony DADC building in Enfield on Monday (08Aug11) as part of the violent riots across the British capital.
Stock from more than 150 record labels was demolished in the blaze, while bosses have put emergency plans into motion to fulfil orders.
A statement reads, "Sony DADC have actioned their Business Continuity Plan and are back up and running from a new control room in Enfield…
"Sony DADC have identified a temporary distribution partner and it is envisaged that they will be in a position to pick, pack and ship orders in the course of next week."

AEROSMITH star STEVEN TYLER is branching into fashion - he’s releasing a "rocker inspired" clothing range.
The singer and American Idol judge has teamed up with designer Tommy Hilfiger’s brother Andy to create a line called Andrew Charles.
The menswear is based on his own eccentric style, while the women’s garments have been influenced by Fleetwood Mac star Stevie Nicks’ wardrobe.
The rocker and his 22-year-old daughter Chelsea will model the clothing together in an upcoming advertising campaign.
Andrew Charles is set to go on sale at U.S. department store Macy’s next month (Sep11).

LYNYRD SKYNYRD have cancelled a series of concerts after singer JOHNNY VAN ZANT was hospitalised over the weekend (06-07Aug11).
The frontman was admitted to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Saturday (06Aug11) to seek treatment for complications from a previous surgery.
Doctors diagnosed him with a Staphylococcal infection and have ordered him to stay off the stage until he recovers.
As a result, the Sweet Home Alabama rockers have pulled out of a number of shows, including stops in Michigan, South Dakota and Missouri, while a handful of gigs have been postponed.

DR. PHIL has settled a legal battle with two women who alleged they were traumatised when the TV self-help guru surprised them with a naked man during a show in 2007.
The unidentified women claimed they felt violated after producers sent a nude intruder into a property where they were filming The Dr. Phil House to shoot their stunned reactions.
They filed suit against U.S. TV personality - real name Phil McGraw - and CBS executives in 2009.
A judge has now dismissed the case after both sides agreed to a settlement, reports TMZ.com.

DOMINIC COOPER is proud of himself for tackling the role of SADDAM HUSSEIN’s sadistic son in new drama THE DEVIL’S DOUBLE - because several actors turned down the controversial part.
The Mamma Mia! star takes on twice the work in the film, starring as Latif Yahia, an Iraqi man who was forced to work as a body double for Hussein’s eldest son Uday, also portrayed by Cooper.
The Brit felt compelled to tackle the "incredible" script - and reveals several stars and moviemakers had refused to take on the project.
He tells FOX411’s Pop Tarts column, "The story itself is incredible, I think a lot of actors and directors were tentatively scared of it when the script was first developed a few years ago, I know a lot of people decided not to take it on but I didn’t fear that… I tried not to think about that too much, even now.
"It was real, this really happened to a man (Yahia) and he was emotionally and physically scarred from that."

TWILIGHT star KIOWA GORDON has been released from an Arizona jail following his arrest on Monday (08Aug11).
Gordon, who plays werewolf Embry Call in the hit vampire movies, was released on $1,000 (£625) bail and walked free from a jail in Tempe on Wednesday (10Aug11).
The actor was taken into custody after he was stopped by traffic police, who discovered there was an active warrant out for his arrest dating back to last year (10).
The warrant was issued after Gordon failed to appear in court on a misdemeanour DUI-drug charge, stemming from an incident where he was busted for allegedly being in possession of alcohol while underage and for possession of drug paraphernalia.

DAVID HASSELHOFF has signed up for a U.K. pantomime show in a bid to be near his Welsh girlfriend this Christmas (11).
The former Baywatch hunk is swapping the glitzy Hollywood life for a stint as Peter Pan’s nemesis Captain Hook in the British festive family tradition, which will be staged in Bristol, England.
British tabloid The Sun reports that the show’s bosses will also pay for 31-year-old Hayley Roberts to stay in a luxury hotel outside the city.
The Knight Rider star says, "I am so delighted to be Captain Hook. I can’t wait for Christmas here." Hasselhoff played the villainous pirate in a London pantomime production last Christmas (10).

Late soul star AMY WINEHOUSE’s London home has reportedly been robbed following her tragic death last month (Jul11).
Police have launched an investigation after the singer’s possessions were allegedly stolen from her house in Camden in the British capital.
According to Britain’s The Sun newspaper, personal letters and lyrics for Winehouse’s planned third album were among the items that went missing.
A source tells the publication, "This is such a sickening shock to the family. That someone would stoop so low. They can’t get their heads around it. (Winehouse’s dad) Mitch is livid…
"Mitch is willing to give whoever has stolen the items a chance to do the right thing and put them back so it doesn’t have to get messy."

SANDRA BULLOCK "threw herself" into filming EXTREMELY LOUD AND INCREDIBLY CLOSE to ease her heartache following her divorce.
The actress walked out on her husband Jesse James last year (10) after a string of women claimed to have had affairs with the TV mechanic. Bullock then stunned fans after revealing she and James had adopted a baby boy, Louis, before their split.
And after her marriage breakdown, Bullock was eager to get to work making the drama about the 9/11 tragedy with Tom Hanks.
Director Stephen Daldry tells People magazine, "She was very keen to get back to work. She threw herself in with her usual enthusiasm and energy, and she was very relaxed.
"She had little Louis with her, and it was a very familial environment on-set."

Former GUNS N’ ROSES star SLASH is teaming up with MARY J. BLIGE for an unlikely collaboration.

GLEE star DIANNA AGRON refuses to divulge secrets from her private life - in order to avoid becoming tabloid fodder like LINDSAY LOHAN.
Agron insists the troubled Mean Girls star is an "amazing actress" but fears the 25-year-old actress’ career has been overshadowed by fans’ interest in her personal affairs.

RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS star ANTHONY KIEDIS struggles to find love because of his wild-man past.
The rocker has fought a much-documented battle with drug addiction since he was young, but overcame his problems in the 1990s and became a father to son Everly, by his now ex-girlfriend Heather Christie.
But clean-living Kiedis admits he’s still looking for love, as women are scared to get close to him because of his hell-raising history.
He tells Britain’s The Sun, "I find it hard to meet the right woman as people assume I’m a certain type of person - which I’m not. It’s been hard. I meet people and they say things like ‘I’d never go out with someone like you, I know who you are’. But they don’t know who I am.
"I run into that a lot with people and so the tragic thing in relationships is that I never get a fair shake because of that preconceived idea of who people think I am. So I’m trying at all costs to avoid the pitfall of having the relationship based on ideas formed from my past." But Kiedis still hopes to find that special person to settle down with: "I hope someone can open their mind and rediscover who I really am rather than who they think I am."

Goth rockers SISTERS OF MERCY have apologised to fans in New Zealand after postponing plans to perform in the country for the first time.
The British band was due to head Down Under to perform at the Soundwave Festival in Australia next month (Sep11) but the event was called off earlier this week (09Aug11).
As a result, the Temple of Love hitmakers have decided to axe a gig scheduled for the 22 September (11) in Auckland, New Zealand.
A statement from the band reads, "We were very sorry to learn this week that the Soundwave Revolution 2011 festival in Australia has been cancelled by the promoter…
"Unfortunately, this means that we have to also postpone our gig in Auckland, New Zealand, as well. Sorry about that." But the group hopes to return eventually, adding: "We are now looking at coming to Australia and New Zealand another time. We’ll let you know when."

GAVIN DEGRAW is struggling to recover from a brutal attack in New York on Monday morning (08Aug11) - he’s still "seeing double" after suffering head injuries.
The Chariot hitmaker was hospitalised with a concussion and a broken nose after he was assaulted by three men following a night out at The National, a bar in Manhattan’s Lower East Side that he co-owns with his brother Joey.
DeGraw was discharged from New York University Hospital on Tuesday afternoon (09Aug11) after undergoing surgery on his nose, but he admits his injuries are still affecting him.
In a post on his Twitter.com page, he writes, "Still sometimes seeing double. NYC looks overpopulated."

Teen sensation JUSTIN BIEBER has pulled out of a recording session for his new album after falling ill.
The 17-year-old Baby hitmaker has been in the studio to record the follow-up to his 2010 debut, My World 2.0.
