Oscar nominee JENNIFER LAWRENCE is heading for the pop charts after recording a new tune for THE HUNGER GAMES soundtrack.
The actress, who plays literary heroine Katniss Everdeen in the movie adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ bestseller, has teamed up with award-winning producer T Bone Burnett to record Rue’s Lullaby, a song her character sings in the film.
And Burnett, who recently produced actor Jeff Bridges’ debut album, admits he was charmed by the pretty actress: "It was beautiful and she did great. She’s singing great. Killer actor too."

Action man JASON MOMOA went into the CONAN THE BARBARIAN remake with a broken nose after a friend took his image makeover idea for the role a little too literally.
The actor thought his savage character should look a little "roughed up" and asked friends if they thought he should have a broken nose.
One pal took him at his word and popped him in the face - so Momoa could see what he’d look like.
He explains, "I was like, ‘It was an idea…’ My wife was p**sed.
"It was completely broken and you see it in the picture. It (nose) has got, like, a little hump… It was like one of those (method) things you read - Daniel Day Lewis and (Marlon) Brando did it."

KANYE WEST’s model ex AMBER ROSE wants to settle down and start a family with her rapper boyfriend WIZ KHALIFA, insisting he is "the one".
The voluptuous beauty has been dating Khalifa since last year (10) and she has already declared her love for the Black and Yellow hitmaker with a tattoo of his name on her finger.
Rose is confident she’s found the perfect man to marry and have children with - although she admits they are too busy to start trying for kids just now.
She tells GlobalGrind.com, "We’re definitely going to get married and have babies. Not right now because we’re still busy and we still want to enjoy each other first. We want to go on vacation, travel and just enjoy each other’s company, but he’s definitely the one. We’re definitely going to lay it down (make it official) and get it done (get married)." However, Rose doesn’t want to wait too long to have children because she’s already feeling broody.
She says, "I want to be a mum really bad. I really want babies. I’ll be 28 in October and my maternal instinct is ready."

Hollywood superstar WILL SMITH is set to make his rap comeback with his first new album in six years.
The Men In Black actor began his career as The Fresh Prince, teaming up with his childhood pal Jeffrey Townes to form hip-hop duo DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince.
He went on to land his own TV sitcom, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and has since become one of Hollywood’s most in-demand movie stars.
But, according to music producer La Mar ‘Mars’ Edwards, Smith is heading back into the studio to record a follow up to 2005’s Lost and Found.
And they’ve already started work on the project.
He tells XXLMag.com, "We’re working on Will Smith, bringing him back."

GEORGE CLOONEY’s ex-girlfriend is to waltz away the blues as one of the celebrity contestants on the upcoming 13th season of hit U.S. TV show DANCING WITH THE STARS, according to a new report.
Elisabetta Canalis split from the movie hunk in June (11) but she’s already moving on with her life after allegedly signing on to dance on TV.
Ironically, Clooney’s rumoured new love, Stacy Kiebler, is a former contestant on the show.
TV bosses are refusing to comment on Eonline.com’s report about the casting; the celebrity dancers will be announced on 29 August (11).
Rumours suggesting Jersey Shore star Snooki and Queen Latifah would be part of the show have already been dismissed.

Model JESSICA CABAN has been inundated with hateful messages online from jealous fans of BRUNO MARS since she was unveiled as the R&B star’s girlfriend.
The Puerto Rican beauty recently began dating Mars and the pair was outed as a couple last week (ends12Aug11). The revelation has turned Caban into a target for overzealous devotees of the Just the Way You Are hitmaker, who have been posting rude notes about the model on social networking websites like Twitter.com and Facebook.com.
Her representative, Eunice Quinones, tells the New York Post’s Page Six column that Caban’s being harrassed by "haters" who claim she’s not good enough for Mars.

VILLAGE PEOPLE star VICTOR WILLIS is facing a court battle to regain the rights to some of the disco group’s biggest hits.
Singer/songwriter Willis, who portrayed a traffic cop in the band, left the line-up in 1979. He filed suit earlier this year (11) to claim back ownership of tracks such as Y.M.C.A. under a U.S. copyright provision which can be activated after 35 years.
But executives at France-based Scorpio Music and its American affiliate Can’t Stop Productions are fighting the legal action, alleging Willis is not entitled to the rights because he was employed as "a writer for hire" and "therefore has no rights" to any ownership share of the songs.
The defendants’ lawyer, Stewart L. Levy tells the New York Times, "This is totally different and outside the scope of these termination rights issues.
"The Village People were a concept group, created by my clients, who picked the people and the costumes… We hired this guy. He was an employee, we gave them the material and a studio to record in and controlled what was recorded, where, what hours and what they did." Willis has not performed with the Village People since 1984.

Rocker COREY TAYLOR and former GUNS N’ ROSES star DUFF MCKAGAN are working on plans to form a new supergroup after becoming close friends while the SLIPKNOT frontman auditioned for a role in VELVET REVOLVER.
Taylor became a favourite to replace Scott Weiland in McKagan and Slash’s band, but the auditions didn’t go as well as expected and all parties decided the singer wasn’t the perfect fit.
But the Slipknot and Stone Sour star continued to jam with McKagan and the two rockers have become close.
The pair already has a handful of new tracks and now Taylor hopes to team up with McKagan to form a band of their own.
In an interview on U.S. TV show A Different Spin with Mark Hoppus, Taylor says, "I’m not singing with Velvet Revolver. We were doing some writing and doing some jamming and what-not, but it just seemed like there were different ideas as to what they wanted to do. And it was completely mutual; it was all good…
"Me and Duff will probably do some stuff later. Me and him, we really hit it off, and we’re really close, and we started writing songs together, and we’ve got some really good stuff. So, you never know. There might be a mystery supergroup out there - me and Duff and some other weird people - making some weird music that people are, like: ‘What? That’s them?’ So, yeah, maybe. We’ll see what happens." Velvet Revolver has been on hiatus since Weiland was fired from the group two years ago (Apr09).

TWILIGHT star KELLAN LUTZ looked close to home to draw inspiration for his new menswear style collection - he raided his own closet.
The actor has teamed up with fashion firm Dylan George to co-create sub-brand Abbot & Main with label founder Daniel Guez.
Lutz helped create the designs, which include t-shirts and knitwear, and he’s proud of his hands-on approach to the range.
He tells the Los Angeles Times, "Nothing gets decided on unless it comes through me. I put in a lot of input now like I did in the beginning.
"We raided my closet to find out what type of shirts I usually wear and what kind of fabrics I like. Because I didn’t just want to be the face of the campaign, but have it be my brand."

Comedian WILL FERRELL will be showing off his tennis skills when he takes part in a celebrity game at the upcoming U.S. Open tennis tournament.
The Old School star will join retired tennis champs John McEnroe and Jim Courier on the court in New York for a special doubles exhibition on 8 September (11).
Rapper/actress Queen Latifah will help to pay tribute to the victims of 9/11 in a ceremony on the last day of the event, which will mark the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks (11Sep11).
Meanwhile, singers Taio Cruz and Greyson Chance are also due to perform during the annual championships.
The U.S. Open will kick off on 29 August (11).

The royal, 34, and her husband Daniel Westling will become parents in March (12).

Actor STEVE BUSCEMI will no longer be ridiculed for the odd contents of his trash can - a bizarre online blog detailing the star’s waste has been taken down.
The website posts, titled What’s on Steve Buscemi’s Stoop, was launched by Brooklyn, New York resident Elliot Larkfield in 2009 after he walked past Buscemi’s family home in the Park Slope neighbourhood and noticed a doll’s head hanging off a fence.
He decided to take photos on his camera phone and upload them to the blog, which soon became a quirky read for locals and fans of the Boardwalk Empire star. Larkfield continued to snap pictures of the tossed belongings, including old cassettes, mugs and a basketball cap with a fake ponytail attached to it.
But he agreed to shut down the website after he was approached by Buscemi’s son, Lucian.
In his final blog post, he writes, "I don’t want to be slinking around the neighbourhood taking pictures in defiance of the Buscemi family’s wishes." And the actor’s wife, artist Jo Andres, hopes the blog’s closure will discourage fans from crowding their quiet neighbourhood to inspect their trash for themselves.
She tells the New York Post, "We have been good neighbours for 20 years and now we have been inundated (with fans). We’d like respect and consideration and would like to be left alone."

Moviemaker MARTIN SCORSESE was inspired to adapt popular children’s book THE INVENTION OF HUGO CABRET for the big screen after reading the novel to his 11-year-old daughter Francesca.
The iconic filmmaker is known for making violent classics like Taxi Driver, Raging Bull and Goodfellas, but he’s trying to win over a new target audience with the upcoming release of Hugo, about an orphan living in a train station in Paris, France.
He tells People magazine, "Reading children’s books to her over the years got me into the frame of the mind of making a film about a child." And Scorsese admits being surrounded by kids on set was a big change from his crime movies: "We always ended up talking about someone’s new teeth coming in!" Hugo, based on the acclaimed 2007 bestseller by Brian Selznick, stars Jude Law, Christopher Lee and Sir Ben Kingsley, alongside child star Asa Butterfield.

JESSE METCALFE cherishes his time spent filming BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT alongside his idol MICHAEL DOUGLAS, because the veteran actor was "incredible to work with" and took the star "under his wing".
The Desperate Housewives hunk starred as a TV reporter in the 2009 crime drama, with Douglas playing a district attorney, and Metcalfe reveals the two became close during the shoot.
The actor tells the BBC, "Not so long ago I did a film with Michael Douglas called Beyond a Reasonable Doubt - that was a great experience.
"He was incredible to work with, one of my heroes growing up. He really took an interest in me and sort of took me under his wing."

DAVID HASSELHOFF has dismissed reports he’s hoping to represent the Netherlands at next year’s (12) Eurovision Song Contest.
Rumours emerged earlier this week (begs15Aug11) suggesting the former Baywatch star was set to perform a track which could be used as the country’s entry in the annual competition.
But Hasselhoff insists the speculation is false, and tells The Hollywood Reporter it would be "unfair" of him to participate in the contest.
He adds, "I think Eurovision is a fantastic platform for singers and songwriters to establish careers and make a name for themselves.
"There are some amazing talents that come from this, and I wish them well, but I would never enter this competition as it would be unfair."

EMINEM has beaten JAY-Z and SNOOP DOGG to be crowned the world’s most successful rapper.
The Stan hitmaker has been named as the king of hip-hop by Rolling Stone magazine, with editors tallying up album sales, social media hits and critical acclaim since 2009.
Eminem garnered 7.5 million record sales, 1.3 billion views on YouTube.com, and has five million Twitter followers - putting him way above his peers.
Lollipop hitmaker Lil Wayne came second in the countdown, followed by relative newcomer Drake at three, Kanye West at number four and legendary 99 Problems superstar Jay-Z in fifth.
Other rappers to make the top ten include Nicki Minaj - the only female MC on the list - Rick Ross, Ludacris, Gucci Mane and T.I.
Most surprisingly, Snoop Dogg lags behind at number 11.

CARL BARAT has spoken out to quash rumours he’s set to reunite with his former THE LIBERTINES bandmate PETE DOHERTY, insisting they recently met up only for a "hug and a coffee".
The cult British band split in 2004 but reunited last year (10) to play two festival sets in the U.K., but Barat later insisted their comeback would not be continued.
Earlier this month (Aug11), he posted a picture of a meeting with Babyshambles frontman Doherty on Twitter.com, sparking rumours they are planning another round of reunion shows - but Barat has now ended the speculation by insisting there is no future for the band.
He tells rock magazine NME, "It wasn’t a Libertines thing, just an overdue hug and a coffee, rebuilding old bridges. I’m off to do two films and an opera from now to June, he’s doing another Babyshambles record and finishing his film. We’ve an amazing friendship ahead of us."
