The bassist has just returned home to America from a vacation in Ibiza, Spain but he’s suffering a fever and is now focusing on his rest.
In a series of posts on Twitter.com, he writes, "I’m not leaving my bed today. So exhausted. Sleeping until (U.S. TV show) Ancient Aliens comes on later and then falling right back asleep.
"Think my lay-in-bed day is caused by something worse than exhaustion. Food poisoning seems to be it. Achy. Fever. I’ll spare you the rest."

Rockers U2 have pledged more than $7 million (£4.4 million) for schools in their native Ireland.
The cash will be dripped into the education system between now and 2015, according to reports.
The donation from Bono and his bandmates will help schools pay for new musical equipment and salaries for music teachers.
The U2 money will be welcome - Irish politicians recently voted for major cuts to education spending in an attempt to solve the country’s ongoing economic problems.

Rocker MEAT LOAF is refusing to slow down his touring schedule - because he’d rather die on stage than quit performing.
The Bat Out Of Hell hitmaker sparked concern for his health last month (Jul11) after seemingly passing out at two concerts.
Meat Loaf has since played down the reports and posted a video message online to assure fans he’s fine, claiming he was merely taking in some air from an oxygen tank to control his asthma.
The singer admits that although the incidents have taught him to "slow down a little bit", he would rather "go out" on stage than not perform.
He tells CNN’s Piers Morgan, "You know, I take the stage as if it’s the last thing I’m ever going to do and that’s how I perform every night… It’s probably (taught me) to slow down a little bit…
"I go out on the stage as if it’s the last thing I’ll ever do. And that’s what I’ve always said - If I’m going out, I’m going out on stage."

Actress ROSE MCGOWAN is planning to make a second trip to visit U.S. troops in Afghanistan - because she found her first outing so rewarding.
The former Charmed star flew out to the war-torn country last year (10) to help raise the spirits of soldiers serving in the region, and now McGowan is set to return to rally the homesick troops.
She tells Fox411’s Pop Tarts, "The last time I was in Afghanistan, it was my favourite trip I’ve ever had, and I’ve had some amazing trips in my life. But it’s bizarre to me that it would make anyone happy that I’m there. But I think I represent home. That’s all, it’s not about me.
"They get really sad and forget because they feel like people have forgotten them, so I’m just a representative, a vessel, showing that people are thinking of them."

Actress KRISTIN CHENOWETH is nursing a sore back after falling down stairs on Wednesday (17Aug11).
The Glee star slipped and landed heavily, and although Chenoweth’s heavily bruised, she’s just thankful not to have broken any bones.
In a series of posts on her Twitter.com page on Thursday night (18Aug11), she writes, "Fell down concrete stairs yesterday. Black and blue and sore. Nothing broken. Muscles are seized but I’m ok! I did the banana peel and fell down the rest on my back."

Actor DANNY DEVITO became the latest celebrity to unveil a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame on Thursday (18Aug11).
The Twins star and director/producer marked his 41st year in the showbusiness industry by receiving the 2,445th star on the famous walkway.
DeVito’s wife Rhea Perlman attended the ceremony, along with the couple’s daughters Lucy and Grace, and their son Jacob.
The pint-sized funnyman posed for pictures lying down next to the landmark, as he joked, "The question is, do I get to take this home or do we leave it here? Or do I move into this store over here, and every day I come and polish it?"

British rocker LIAM GALLAGHER has launched a libel lawsuit against his brother Noel.
Noel Gallagher walked out on his brother and their Oasis bandmates in 2009, moments before they were due to take the stage at a gig in Paris, France.
The siblings have since launched a bitter war of words in the press and Noel recently opened up to the press about the incidents leading up to the group’s demise, claiming Liam started the bust-up in France by asking to advertise his fashion line Pretty Green in Oasis tour programmes.
The rocker also made allegations his brother pulled out of an earlier appearance at Britain’s 2009 V Festival because he was suffering from a hangover - the official statement suggested the singer was suffering from laryngitis.
Now Liam is suing his estranged big brother for libel.
In a statement, released to Britain’s The Sun newspaper, Liam says, "I have taken legal action against Noel Gallagher for statements he made claiming Oasis pulled out of the 2009 V Festival Chelmsford gig because I had a hangover. That is a lie and I want Oasis fans and others who were at V to know the truth.
"I was gutted (upset) when I couldn’t play the gig because I didn’t want to let the fans down. But the truth is I had laryngitis, which Noel was made fully aware of that morning, diagnosed by a doctor.
"Noel also falsely stated the demise of Oasis followed a massive row, in which he claimed I demanded to advertise my clothing range Pretty Green in the Oasis tour programme. The truth is there was no such discussion or row between us.
"I am used to being called all sorts of things by Noel and I have in the past said things about him. But what Noel has alleged this time went way beyond rock-and-roll banter and questioned my professionalism. I tried to resolve this amicably but have been left with no choice but legal action. All I want is an apology." Noel will now have to make an official response to the writ in London’s High Court, and if the brothers still disagree the case will be taken before judges.
It appears Liam has the full backing of his former Oasis bandmates, who are now part of his new group Beady Eye - guitarist Andy Bell recently told the Japan Times that Noel had lied about the reasons for the group’s split.
Bell said, "He (Noel) lied about a lot of things. The argument about Pretty Green was lies, what he said about V Festival and the fake laryngitis was lies - I don’t know, maybe he’s convinced that’s the truth. I don’t know what goes on in his head. I know him, so I’m not disappointed."

CHANNING TATUM’s upcoming movie about male strippers has been given a big boost - Hollywood hunk MATTHEW MCCONAUGHEY has signed on to play a retired exotic dancer.
The Sahara star will portray the owner of the strip club where Tatum’s character works in drama Magic Mike, based on the G.I. Joe actor’s own brief stint as a tease dancer at 19.
Striptease star Demi Moore and British actor Alex Pettyfer are also on board the Steven Soderbergh film, according to Variety.
Magic Mike is set to begin production later this month (Aug11) and is due for release next year (12).

GWYNETH PALTROW inadvertently saved the life of a woman heading to work in New York’s Twin Towers on the fateful morning of 9/11 - the actress almost ran the finance employee over in her car as she dashed across a road.
Lara Lundstrom Clarke was rushing to the subway station to catch her train to downtown Manhattan on September 11, 2001, when she had a close call after stepping into the road without looking.
She recalls, "It was one of those mornings that felt good, you had a little skip in your step… Then all of the sudden, a silver Mercedes SUV came barreling down towards me. I stopped and they (the car) screeched to a halt." Clarke made eye contact with the driver - and was stunned to see the blonde behind the wheel of the vehicle was Hollywood star Paltrow.
The brief delay caused the then-24 year old to miss her train. She arriving late for work at the World Trade Centre station just moments after the first of two hijacked planes had been flown into the Big Apple landmark by terrorists.
Clarke tells TheMortonReport.com, "At that time I was annoyed at everything that had made me late that day, including Gwyneth Paltrow… (But) if I had made that train I would have been at my desk on the 77th floor of 2 World Trade Center." She wrote a letter to Paltrow detailing her experience on the morning of the terrorist attacks and the actress’ publicist reveals the star was "deeply moved" by the story.

Environmental activist LEONARDO DiCAPRIO has become one of the first few people in the world to speed off with a rare hybrid sports car, which set him back a staggering $100,000 (£62,500).
The Inception star is the new owner of a 2012 Fisker Karma, one of the most highly-anticipated environmentally friendly vehicles on the market.

BLUR rocker ALEX JAMES has been granted permission to stage a music and food festival on his farm in the English countryside.
The bassist, who has become a famous cheesemaker, announced his intentions for the Harvest event earlier this year (11).
He had already signed up top British artists including KT Tunstall and The Kooks to perform for ticket holders and now he has officially been given permission to hold Harvest on Kingham farm in Oxfordshire after gaining local officials’ approval for an event license.
Festivalgoers will be able to rock out while feasting on top culinary creations by chefs from around the world.
A statement from festival directors Dom Gomez and Clare Isaacs reads, "With only days to go till Harvest, everything is shaping up for a magical feast for the senses. We can’t wait to see Alex’s farm come alive with our favorite chefs and bands." The four-day Harvest event in Chipping Norton is due to kick off on 9 September (11).

A reggae producer who gave SEAN PAUL and BEENIE MAN their big breaks has been shot dead in Jamaica.
Joel Chin was killed outside his home in Stony Hill on Tuesday (16Aug11). He was 35.
The beatmaker is the grandson of VP Records founder Vincent Chin and son of noted reggae producer Clive Chin. He followed in the family business and began his career as a talent scout, signing Get Busy hitmaker Paul and Beenie Man, as well as popular artists T.O.K. and Sizzla.
Chin’s murder occurred just three weeks after he became a first-time father.
His uncle, Christopher Chin, tells the New York Daily News, "Joel’s only two passions in life were music and Jamaica. They consumed all his time and effort… This is a huge loss for our family. He had just begun to live his life."

Rapper SOULJA BOY has teamed up with cult heavy rocker ANDREW W.K. and pop duo MATT AND KIM for an unlikely collaboration.
The stars all feature on the track I’m A Goner, originally penned by Matt and Kim, as part of sneaker brand Converse Inc.’s Three Artists. One Song project.
Matt Johnson says, "When Kim and I sat down to write I’m A Goner, we knew we wanted to make a song people can party to. Soulja Boy and Andrew W.K.’s lyrics and energy bring a whole new element to the song that we couldn’t be more excited about." The three artists have also shot a video for the song, which will premiere on America’s MTV2 channel on Sunday (21Aug11).

Former NIRVANA bassist KRIST NOVOSELIC will perform the group’s classic album NEVERMIND in its entirety next month (Sep11) to mark the record’s 20th anniversary.
The 1991 masterpiece has sold 30 million copies worldwide and is set to be re-released in September (11) in honour of the milestone.
As part of the celebrations, Novoselic has announced plans for a special show in Seattle, Washington, where he will be joined by a slew of local musicians to play the tracks from start to finish.
The gig is due to take place on 20 September (11), a day after Nevermind’s re-release, and will feature The Fastbacks, The Long Winters, Vaporland and Campfire OK, among others, according to Pitchfork.com.

JUSTIN BIEBER’s Texas street honour has been shortlived - a thief has stolen the road sign, two days after it was unveiled.
Caroline Gonzalez, an 11-year-old fan of the Baby hitmaker, won a contest to be appointed "mayor for a day" in the city of Forney and her first executive decision was to pay tribute to her pop idol, renaming Main Street to Justin Bieber Way on Tuesday (16Aug11).
But the sign went missing on Thursday (18Aug11) and Mayor Darren Rozell has promised to have it replaced immediately.
He tells CNN.com, "We don’t know if it was really a crazed fan who decided they had to have it or what."

Actress ANNE HATHAWAY has explained the reason behind her gangsta rap on late night U.S. TV earlier this week (begs15Aug11) - she’s taken to writing rhymes to exercise her anger at the paparazzi.
The Devil Wears Prada star stunned viewers of Conan O’Brien’s talk show on Tuesday (16Aug11) when she took aim at the snappers with a verse "in the style of Lil Wayne".
She rapped, "I’m a paparazzi/I don’t play no Yahtzee/I go pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop/My camera’s up your crotch…" The clip has since gone viral and Hathaway reveals she is constantly channelling her fury at the photographers who follow her every move into similar rhymes.
In an interview on America’s Today show on Thursday (18Aug11), she said, "I’ve now had to start to deal with the paparazzi presence a bit more in my life. It’s not something I ever expected to encounter so I don’t wanna be angry about it, I don’t wanna have negative feelings about it, I just wanna get them out so I just started to write rap lyrics about it ’cause that’s just the way it came out." But Hathaway admits it was never meant to be performed in public - until the comedian’s producers learned of her rapping skills and thought it would make for good TV.
She added, "I did it for my friends and they all laughed so when the producers at Conan asked me to do it - because I’d mentioned in an interview that I write songs to make me feel better sometimes - the producer said, ‘Would you do it?’ and I said, ‘Yes’."

Actor RYAN O’NEAL recently posted $50,000 (£31,250) bail to help out a troubled pal of his drug addict son Redmond.
Matt Veltri was arrested outside the Love Story star’s Malibu, California home on 22 July (11) after allegedly breaking into a home nearby while in possession of narcotics.
He was booked on burglary and drug charges and released on bail hours later - but he owes his freedom to O’Neal for putting up the cash to secure his freedom.
Veltri, who claims the arrest was a misunderstanding, tells America’s Star magazine that O’Neal did the good deed because he "knows" he is "a good kid".
The 26 year old was busted again for drugs just three days later and was caught while in a car with Redmond, but Veltri insists he wasn’t the dealer providing illegal substances to his famous friend, the son of O’Neil and the late Farrah Fawcett, who is back behind bars following his own drugs bust earlier this month (Aug11).
Veltri says, "Ryan would never allow one of Redmond’s friends to come into his house and deal drugs." He will fight the burglary and drug charges in court on 20 September (11). Redmond, who has been remanded in custody, will appear in court to face felony counts of heroin possession and illegal possession of a firearm on 24 August (11).

KELLY ROWLAND is open to speaking to her father after years of estrangement, but she’s wary of rushing into a reconciliation.
The former Destiny’s Child star has not seen her dad Christopher since she was a child, and has previously claimed his "drunk and aggressive" behaviour prompted her mother to leave him.
Christopher reached out to his daughter earlier this year (11) in the hope of a reconciliation, and Rowland admits she would like to be back in contact with her dad - but she’s taking her time to decide on how to initiate the reunion.
She tells Britain’s Grazia magazine, "I do have a desire to speak to him. But I have to be ready when I make that decision, and I don’t want to hurry myself. I’ve been without him for more than 20 years."
