GLASVEGAS VOW TO CARRY ON AFTER LABEL SPLIT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:29 am

Scottish rockers GLASVEGAS have promised fans they will remain a group despite no longer having a record label.
The band has revealed that they were dropped by Columbia earlier this year (11) after originally signing to the imprint in 2008.
Despite having no backing from the major label, guitarist Rab Allan insists Glasvegas will carry on and sign a new deal in due course.
He tells NME.com, "We’re definitely not breaking up. We’re thinking about what we want to do, which is probably why people think we’re breaking up. People have come in about signing us, but there’s no need for us to have a label right now, (lead singer) James (Allan) is writing the third album and when its ready we’ll probably sign. The people who want to sign us will still be there in four months time." It’s been a bad few weeks for the rockers - they were forced to scrap their slot at Britain’s V Festival at the weekend (20-21Aug11) after revellers pelted them with bottles.

Pregnant HILARY DUFF is out of THE STORY OF BONNIE & CLYDE movie again three months after assuring fans the news of her departure was incorrect.

STURGESS PLANS ‘GYPSY ELECTRO’ ALBUM

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:17 pm

Actor JIM STURGESS is temporarily turning his back on Hollywood blockbusters to make a bizarre album of "electro-cockney-gypsy-circus" music.
The British actor, who stars in romantic drama One Day, is planning the unusual album with his long-term girlfriend, La Roux keyboard player Mickey O’Brien - cousin of Radiohead star Ed O’Brien.
He tells The New Review, "We got really into broken circus music and Tom Waits’ influence. That’s what started it all off and it goes all over the place. I’ve enjoyed doing it - just because we never intended to do anything other than make music.
"I can’t really say what it is. It’s not indie music, or guitar music, or rock music, or hip-hop. It has its own personality, I guess. Or I hope."
