COMPOSER O’BRIEN FOUND DEAD IN HOTEL ROOM
Hollywood film composer JOHN O’BRIEN was found dead in his Chicago, Illinois hotel room on Saturday (20Aug11).
O’Brien’s body was discovered by longtime collaborator and former child actor Peter Billingsley. He was 45.
An autopsy into the cause of O’Brien’s death proved inconclusive, but narcotics and sleeping pills were found in the composer’s room, according to the Chicago Tribune.
The music supervisor was best known for providing material for a number of Hollywood blockbuster hits, among them The Break-Up, Four Christmases, Couples Retreat, Pineapple Express, and Iron Man.
O’Brien most recently worked on Christina Applegate’s new TV sitcom Up All Night, which is set to premiere next month (Sep11).
