Retired tennis ace JOHN MCENROE showed off his impressive vocal skills on Wednesday (03Aug11) when he rocked out with KID ROCK during a karaoke session in California.
Rock took the stage with Rage Against the Machine star Tim Commerford at Malibu’s Cafe Habana and entertained the crowd by belting out a string of hits by the likes of Metallica, the Sex Pistols and Led Zeppelin during the venue’s weekly karaoke party.
But they weren’t the only performers in the house - McEnroe also took part in the sing-a-long.
A source tells the New York Post’s Page Six column, "McEnroe joined in on many of the songs, they sang ’til closing."

RYAN REYNOLDS and CHARLIZE THERON have ended their rumoured relationship after just two months, according to a U.S. report.
The actors were first linked in June (11), after Reynolds’ motorcycle was spotted outside Theron’s Hollywood home.
Representatives for the South African beauty fuelled the claims last month (Jul11) by refusing to confirm or deny she was dating Scarlett Johansson’s ex-husband, but it appears the romance has already fizzled out.
According to Us Weekly magazine, Reynolds called off the fling in late July (11).
A source says, "They’re both too busy. And they were hardly ever together anyway." Reynolds’ divorce from Johansson became official on 1 July (11).

Actress/singer ZOOEY DESCHANEL is gifting fans with a Christmas album this year (11).
The (500) Days of Summer star and her She & Him bandmate M. Ward have been busy working on A Very She & Him Christmas, due to hit record stores in time for the 2011 holiday season.
In a post on her Twitter.com page, Deschanel tells fans, "Exciting news! She And Him will be releasing our first holiday record later this year! Been working on it a while! I’m super pumped about it!" The duo already has one famous fan eager to hear the festive collection - pop star Kelly Clarkson tweeted, "Let me just say right now how freakin’ excited I am about a holiday record from She And Him."

Singer ADAM LEVINE has signed on to executive produce a new sitcom.
The Maroon 5 frontman will help to develop an upcoming comedy series set in a karaoke bar for America’s NBC, the same network behind hit talent show The Voice, on which he is a coach.
Casting details for the as-yet-untitled programme have yet to be released, but Levine is not ruling himself out.
When asked about starring on the project during a Friday morning (05Aug11) interview on America’s Today show, Levine replied, "Perhaps, I’ve not decided about that one yet." Bad Teacher filmmaker Jake Kasdan will direct and executive produce with the star.

BRANDY is returning to the small screen after landing a recurring role in 90210.
The Grammy winner juggled a singing career with her own sitcom Moesha in the 1990s, before going on to star in the 1998 horror movie I Still Know What You Did Last Summer.
Now she’s set to show off her acting talents once again after being cast as Marissa Jackson-Lewis, a charismatic young politician, in the TV teen drama.
Brandy will make her 90210 debut in October (11), reports TVLine.com.

Rocker PERRY FARRELL’s Lollapalooza festival will debut in Brazil in 2012.
The 20-year-old music event, which hits Chicago, Illinois this weekend (05-07Aug11), will hit the Jockey Club in Sao Paulo next April (12), in addition to returning to Chicago’s Grant Park in August.
The announcement was made at a Lollapalooza launch press conference on Friday morning (05Aug11).
The show will also return to Chile in 2012. This year’s debut of Lollapalooza Chile in April (11), which featured headliners The Killers, Kanye West and Farrell’s band Jane’s Addiction, was a big success.
The line-up for all three 2012 Lollapalooza’s will be announced in the coming weeks.
This weekend’s festival in Chicago will feature Eminem, Foo Fighters, Coldplay and Muse. More than 90,000 music fans are expected to attend each day of the weekend event.

BLACK EYED PEAS star FERGIE dreams of founding her own charity to help cancer survivors.
The singer is a committed philanthropist, and was honoured her humanitarian work at a star-studded AIDS charity event in Paris, France in June (11).
Her parents have both battled different forms of cancer, and, after her father almost succumbed to the disease, Fergie is determined to set up a foundation of her own to help those affected by the illness.
She tells Cosmopolitan magazine, "I’d love to start up my own charity. Both my parents are survivors of cancer. My dad was seriously ill and is lucky to be alive today."

Teen pop sensation JUSTIN BIEBER is testing his rap skills by collaborating with CHRIS BROWN on the R&B singer’s first hip-hop mixtape.
Brown has recruited his young friend to join him on new release Boy in Detention, his first as a rapper.
The Baby hitmaker has previously adopted the rap moniker Shawty Mane and he is reintroducing fans to the alter ego on Brown’s mixtape and on another track with rising hip-hop star Asher Roth.
In a recent post on Twitter.com, Bieber wrote, "Did a lil something on the upcoming @chrisbrown mixtape. Ladies love me. then we got crazy on the @asherroth album. #shawtymane" But Bieber has no plans to ditch his pop roots.
He tells XXL magazine, "I just do it for fun, but nothing serious. I don’t think people would take me seriously if I came out with, like, a rap album."

GOOD MORNING AMERICA producers have come under fire from a parents watchdog group after failing to prevent the broadcast of NICKI MINAJ’s wardrobe malfunction during the rapper’s live performance on Friday (05Aug11).
The Moment 4 Life hitmaker was left red-faced after her bra top slipped down while onstage in New York’s Central Park, revealing her left nipple to audience members and TV viewers at home.
Minaj’s nip slip initially went unnoticed by producers of the breakfast show, but they managed to catch the incident just before the star fully exposed her breast as she jumped around singing her latest single, Where Dem Girls At.
GMA bosses momentarily blocked the TV footage by putting up a blank grey screen as Minaj adjusted herself, and network executives at ABC have since apologised for the incident.
An ABC spokesperson tells TMZ, "Although we had a five-second delay in place for the Nicki Minaj concert on GMA, the live East Coast feed of the concert regrettably included certain fleeting images of the performer that were taken out of later feeds of the broadcast in other time zones.
"We are sorry that this occurred." But the statement is not enough for activists from the Parents Television Council and they are demanding TV bosses make the short delay standard practice for any live show to prevent any future explicit images slipping through.
Tim Winter, president of the watchdog group, says, "For the umpteenth time in recent memory a morning news show has included inappropriate content for children and families. Instead of asking for forgiveness, they need to stop apologising and implement the five second delay that so many Americans have been calling for." Minaj has yet to comment on the controversy.

Actress ELISHA CUTHBERT’s ex-boyfriend, ice hockey superstar SEAN AVERY, has been arrested in Los Angeles after allegedly beating up a cop.
The New York Rangers star reportedly argued with police who arrived at his Hollywood Hills home, responding to a noise complaint from a neighbour, early on Friday (05Aug11).
The 31 year old is accused of pushing one of the officers and slamming the door in his face.
Following the confrontation, additional officers were called to the home and Avery was eventually was taken into custody.
He is being held on suspicion of battery, reports the Los Angeles Times.
Avery has had problems with his infamous confrontational attitude and signed up for anger-management classes following a statement he made about a rival player before a 2008 game.
He was suspended by the National Hockey League after he told a reporter that a Calgary Flames player who was dating Cuthbert, his ex, was "falling in love with sloppy seconds".

Actress TILDA SWINTON had "no idea" how prestigious it was to win an Academy Award because she doesn’t own a television and has never been interested in Oscars news.
The British star was named Best Supporting Actress for her role in 2007 drama Michael Clayton and it was Swinton’s first time attending the biggest event in the Hollywood calendar.
The actress acknowledges the professional clout that came with landing such a coveted honour, but insists it is "not really" of any personal significance for her or her kids - who couldn’t care less about the Oscar statuette.
She tells W magazine, "I have to admit that I’d never seen the Oscars on television and really had no idea that it was so important. It was a very long show, but it did move me up from the children’s table, professionally, in Hollywood.
"When I brought my Oscar home and showed the children, nobody knew what it was. The thing sat on the kitchen table for two weeks. It was kind of meaningless to them." Swinton decided against capitalising on her new-found status in Hollywood and instead chose to return to the smaller, independent films that she was more moved by.
She adds, "After winning, I went straight to Milan (Italy) and started I Am Love. Since then, I haven’t done another Hollywood film."

Actress VIOLA DAVIS piled on 25 pounds (11.34 kilograms) for her role as a middle-aged maid in new movie THE HELP - but still had to wear body pads to appear thicker than she was.
The usually-svelte Oscar nominee stars alongside Emma Stone and Bryce Dallas Howard in the big screen adaptation of author Kathryn Stockett’s 2009 novel, about the 1960s racial divide between middle class white families and their African-American maids in Jackson, Mississippi.
Davis indulged in fatty fried Southern foods to bulk up for the part, but her weight gain wasn’t quite enough.
She says, "I had to gain 25 pounds during The Help and then I was padded. I gained weight by eating Mississippi food. They fry the butter before they put it on the bread and then they fry the bread!"

Filmmaker SOFIA COPPOLA will marry singer THOMAS MARS on the historic grounds of the picturesque Palazzo Margherita in southern Italy later this month (Aug11).
The Lost in Translation director will exchange vows with Phoenix frontman Mars in a civil ceremony on 27 August (11) on her dad Francis Ford Coppola’s lavish estate in the small village of Bernalda.
Francis Ford Coppola’s great nephew Gaetano Russo tells wwd.com, "The ceremony will mark the end of renovations at the palace, which will soon be inaugurated as a resort, open to the public." And the Coppolas plan to turn the nuptials into a celebration for the whole village - they will screen scenes from films by both Sofia and her famous father on the walls of 10 buildings around Bernalda.
Coppola’s representative confirmed the engagement in May (11). The couple has two young daughters together.

MAROON 5 frontman ADAM LEVINE is suing the makers of BAND HERO over allegations his likeness was misrepresented in the popular video game.
The singer agreed for the Maroon 5 hit She Will Be Loved to be used in the Guitar Hero spin-off and performed the song so an avatar could be modelled on him with motion-capture technology.
But Levine claims Activision bosses breached their contract by adding a feature which allows users to make his avatar sing more than 60 songs by other acts.
In a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday (04Aug11), The Voice coach insists a number of the tracks "would not have been chosen by him for recordings or performances".
According to TheWrap.com, Levine is suing for fraudulent inducement, breach of contract, violation of the common-law right of publicity and unfair business acts or practices. He’s seeking unspecified damages.
Artists including No Doubt and Axl Rose have also launched legal battles over their inclusion in the interactive video game.

A MADONNA fan has pleaded not guilty to burglary after allegedly breaking into the pop star’s London home in March (11).
Grzegorz Matlok was arrested after security staff reportedly discovered him in the singer’s Marylebone townhouse clutching her possessions.
On Wednesday (03Aug11), a court heard how Matlok allegedly used a rope to climb up to Madonna’s balcony and took a can of energy drink Red Bull.
The 30 year old pleaded not guilty to three counts of burglary and was remanded in custody. A trial date has been set for 12 September (11), according to OK.co.uk.
Madonna was in the U.S. at the time of the alleged break-in.

NOEL GALLAGHER’s first live sets with his new band have sold out in less than 10 minutes.
The musician quit Oasis in 2009 after a fall-out with brother Liam and created a new group, Noel Gallagher’s Flying Birds, which is also the name of his new record.
The rocker recently announced plans for three live shows in October (11) and fans flocked online to buy tickets when they went on sale on Friday morning (05Aug11).
The gigs, which will take place in Dublin, Ireland; Edinburgh, Scotland; and London, were booked up within six minutes.

Ska stars REEL BIG FISH have cancelled their set at a Florida festival after singer AARON BARRETT was hospitalised on Wednesday (03Aug11).
Barrett is resting after undergoing a procedure to remove an abscess which had developed following a previous operation in June (11).
The band was due to appear at the 311 Pow Wow Festival in Live Oak on Friday (05Aug11), but they’ve pulled out of the gig to allow Barrett time to recover.
A statement from a representative reads, "Aaron Barrett and Reel Big Fish… will be forced to miss the 311 Pow Wow in Florida Friday August 5th - he is in the hospital resting. The frontman confirmed he will be spending the night in a medical facility after feeling unwell following his performance last night at the NorVA in Norfolk, Virginia.
"Aaron had a fever and discomfort and decided to go to the hospital to get it checked out, doctors are keeping him overnight for monitoring following a procedure for an abscess from complication from surgery in June from an acute appendectomy." The singer is expected to make a full recovery in time for the group’s gig in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Saturday (06Aug11).
