GROHL: ‘STUDIO TECHNOLOGY IS RUINING ROCK’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:16 pm

FOO FIGHTERS frontman DAVE GROHL is convinced music technology is ruining rock ‘n’ roll because fancy studio production creates records which lack "personality".
The former Nirvana drummer decided to shun modern recording techniques during the making of his band’s latest album, Wasting Light, by using old-fashioned tape instead of computers.
Grohl has now spoken out against modern recording techniques, which often involve replacing a percussionist with a computer-generated drum beat, insisting rock bands should stay true to their roots.
He tells Britain’s The Sun, "All that s**t ruins music these days. Drum machines work for pop artists but when it comes to rock ‘n’ roll - don’t f**k with the human element… I had favourite drummers because of their inconsistencies. Modern production has robbed drummers of personalities and it really p**ses me off."

NEW EDITION IN SHOW SCARE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:22 pm

BOBBY BROWN’s newly-reformed band NEW EDITION was left scrambling to get ready for a gig in New York on Wednesday (06Jul11) after their stylist’s flight was diverted.
The group was due to take the stage at a birthday party for DJ Cassidy on the USS Intrepid, but they were thrown into a panic when they heard stylist Scott Julion had suffered a travel nightmare after his flight from New Orleans, Louisiana was diverted to Baltimore, Maryland.
He eventually made it to the venue in time for the gig, and the band was forced to leave its preparations to the very last minute. A representative for New Edition tells New York Post gossip column Page Six, "He made it in time for the gig, and the band got dressed as fast as they could." The rep also dismissed rumours Brown got himself into trouble by pulling a waitress’ hair at the party, adding, "It wasn’t anything detrimental or anything. He did it in a playful way and it was fine. It was a misunderstanding. Everything was fine; no one had any issues."

A representative for JENNIFER ANISTON has confirmed the actress is set to take a break from work, but dismissed rumours she will be stepping out of the spotlight for up to a year.

The rep tells E! Online, "She is not taking a year off. That is a huge exaggeration. CRAIG STUNNED BY DRAGON TATTOO VIOLENCE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:22 pm

DANIEL CRAIG was horrified when he was shown clips from his new movie THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO because of the "graphic" and "powerful" violence in the film.
The actor stars in the Hollywood adaptation of the first of Stieg Larsson’s popular Millennium Trilogy books, which feature controversial scenes of rape, torture and murder.
Craig was recently shown footage from the film shoot by director David Fincher, and admits he was shocked by what he saw.
He tells Esquire magazine, "It’s as adult as you can possibly make it. This is adult drama… He (Fincher) showed me some scenes recently and my hand was over my mouth, going, ‘Are you f**king serious?’ It’s not simply that he showed me footage that was horribly graphic. It was stuff that was happening, or had happened. And somehow you don’t see it. There’s more than one way to sense violence - much more powerful ways than seeing it step-by-step."

Cumia tells Britain’s The Sun newspaper he allowed Craig to use his personal weapons for some target practice, and was impressed with the actor’s shooting skills.
He says, "Daniel is an excellent shot. He got about 95 per cent accuracy. We spent the entire day there. He wanted to brush up on his shooting. I packed almost my entire arsenal - and made sure I had my PPK. When he fired it, that was about as close to Bond talk as we got."

ARCTIC MONKEYS frontman ALEX TURNER gave up watching television and playing computer games during the recording of the band’s latest album, over fears technological entertainment can lead to writer’s block.
The British rockers recently released their fourth record Suck It and See, which was recorded partly in New York, and Turner admits his bandmates went to extreme lengths to make sure he didn’t stifle his songwriting ability during the studio sessions.
He tells Scotland’s Daily Record, "They don’t let me play computer games, or anything like that. I tried to get in Sky Digital (TV), but they took that away from me. Television? It’s a gateway to writer’s block, isn’t it? I didn’t have a telly when I was in New York…"
