DICKINSON SNUBS THE VOICE JUDGING OFFER

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:31 pm

Rocker BRUCE DICKINSON has snubbed an offer to judge the upcoming U.K. version of THE VOICE, branding the show "demeaning".
Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green and Blake Shelton passed on their expert advice to wannabes on the American reality series earlier this year (11), and the talent finding programme is heading to Britain.
The BBC has acquired rights to the series, but the Iron Maiden frontman has rejected TV bosses’ pleas to sit on the judging panel.
He tells Britain’s The Sun, "That show sounds so c**p and demeaning to everyone involved, I took great delight in turning the BBC down. The X Factor is appalling enough…" The Voice is set to launch in Britain next year (12).

LIAM GALLAGHER CHALLENGES BROTHER TO A FIGHT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:28 pm

LIAM GALLAGHER has challenged his brother NOEL to a fight after the former OASIS guitarist re-ignited their feud last week (ends10Jul11).
The siblings have been at loggerheads since the Wonderwall hitmakers split in 2009 after a furious backstage bust-up between the pair, and they’ve traded insults in interviews ever since.
Last week, Noel Gallagher announced the release of his long-awaited solo album and took the opportunity to speak publicly for the first time about the band’s break-up, blaming Liam for trying to advertise his Pretty Green clothing line in Oasis tour programmes.
The comments angered the Beady Eye frontman, who took to his Twitter.com blog to post a one-word retort: "S**tbag".
And he came out fighting backstage at Scotland’s T In The Park festival over the weekend (09-10Jul11), telling the Daily Record newspaper he’s ready for a brawl with his brother.
Liam says, "I’m quite prepared to go head to toe (sic) verbally, physically, musically, mentally with Noel Gallagher. We’ve heard our new tunes and they’re big, so bring it on."

GLASTONBURY FACING 2015 AXE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:25 pm

GLASTONBURY boss MICHAEL EAVIS fears the iconic British music festival could be axed by 2015 because the growing number of outdoor summer rock events is saturating the market.
The three-day festival in south west England, which is held annually in June, has become the highlight of Britain’s music calendar since its launch in 1971, attracting headline acts including Sir Paul McCartney, Oasis, and U2.
This year’s (11) event was one of the most popular in its history and came to a spectacular end with a closing performance from Beyonce on the Sunday night - but organiser Eavis worries the festival could be living on borrowed time.
He tells Britain’s The Times, "It’s on the way out. We’ve probably got another three or four years. (British festivals) Womad and Latitude are not selling out. Partly it’s economics, but there is a feeling that people have seen it all before…
"We sell out only because we get huge headliners. (But) in the year Jay-Z played we nearly went bankrupt. I don’t see the market will be there in the future."

"I call him from the set and I fax him pages of the script so that he can help me with the scene. He helps me a lot." The True Blood star has attended San Diego’s Comic-Con event for the past three years and there’s one moment which stands out as particularly memorable for the Aussie actor.
He tells The Hollywood Reporter, "I was supposed to be tailing security with the True Blood cast and I don’t know how, but I lost track of him and I wandered out onto the convention floor by myself.
"I had more fun wandering around and seeing all the things I could possibly buy than being upstairs in the green room waiting to go out.
"They had to send out a search party to find me because I wasn’t exactly willing to go back on my own; I was having too much fun out there. It was really a visceral out-of-body experience."

BRINKLEY RULES OUT ANOTHER MARRIAGE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:22 pm

CHRISTIE BRINKLEY has ruled out walking down the aisle again following four failed unions, branding marriage "ridiculous".
The veteran supermodel has wed four times - to French artist Jean-Francois Allaux, rocker Billy Joel, businessman Richard Taubman and Peter Cook.
She is mother to three children, all from different relationships, and although she’s open to love again in the future, she’s adamant she’ll never exchange vows with another man after the drama of her divorces.
Brinkley tells Britain’s Stella magazine, "I can now say unequivocally that I would never get married again. There’s absolutely no reason to.
"I learned in my divorce that marriage is ridiculous. You take a vow but you don’t get brownie points when you honour your vow and the other person doesn’t.
"The court doesn’t recognise that. It’s like, ‘All right now, let’s see how we’re going to divvy up the kids.’ Well, obviously, the one that didn’t break the vows should be the role model, but no." Brinkley’s last marriage, to Cook, came to an end in 2008.
