POTTER STARS TESTED COLUMBUS ON SET

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:10 pm

British actor MATTHEW LEWIS and his HARRY POTTER co-stars risked the wrath of director CHRIS COLUMBUS on the early wizard movies - because they were always "messing and joking around" during filming.
Lewis was a pre-teen when he landed the role of Neville Longbottom in the franchise, alongside leads Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson.
The 22 year old admits the child stars loved to joke around on the set of the first two movies, Philosopher’s Stone and Chamber of Secrets - and Columbus had a hard task on his hands trying to control them.
Lewis tells Britain’s The Sun, "I imagine there were times on the first two films where Chris Columbus was thinking ‘For crying out loud, they are not doing what I want them to do’.
"We were messing and joking around. But he never lost his temper. At 11 or 12 you didn’t treat it as a job. It wasn’t until 15 that I saw it as being a serious career."

RECORD LABEL BOSSES TRIED TO SHUT DOWN SHELTON’S TWITTER

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:16 pm

BLAKE SHELTON’s record label bosses threatened to shut down the singer’s Twitter.com account because his messages were sometimes offensive and overly candid.
In May (11), The Who You Are When I’m Not Looking hitmaker landed himself in trouble after posting insensitive anti-gay remarks on his social networking site.
The country star has since raised eyebrows for taking to the site to recount his drunken nights, and he admits executives at his music label, Warner Bros., haven’t been too happy with his online behaviour and subsequently tried to prevent him from tweeting to keep him out of trouble.
He tells The New York Times, "There was a point where Warner Bros. was (sic), like, ‘We’ve got to get Blake off Twitter, ’cause he can’t say these type of things.’" But Shelton isn’t worried about upsetting his fan base - he hopes people will remember him for being true and pushing the envelope.
He adds, "I hope that people learn from me, it’s OK to be yourself. It’s OK to offend somebody, and, as a matter of fact, please be polarising. If you’re not polarising, you failed in my opinion. If you don’t stand for something, how can anyone respect what you do?"

MCGREGOR IS A TRUE LADIES MAN

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:16 pm

Scottish actor EWAN MCGREGOR is a big softie at heart - he prefers chatting to women as he hates "macho" conversation.
The Trainspotting star loves socialising with his wife Eve and her female pals, and admits he’s "happier" shunning male company to hang out with the women in his life.
He tells Britain’s The Times, "There’s nothing I like more when I’m not working than when Eve is having lunch with her girlfriends and I go along… I’m not massively gregarious but my friends are mainly our friends… Mainly couples.
"I’m always much happier with women in social situations. Hanging out with men seems to encourage that kind of macho thing of putting each other down. I don’t like it and I’m not very good at it."

EVANS SOUGHT THERAPY BEFORE TAKING CAPTAIN AMERICA ROLE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:13 pm

Actor CHRIS EVANS turned to a therapist to help him manage his anxiety levels before shooting big budget blockbuster CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER.
Evans, who leads the cast in the Marvel Comics superhero film, admits he sought professional help to cope with his fears of public scrutiny and rising fame, which came as a result of his involvement in a high-profile franchise.
He tells The New York Times, "I wouldn’t have done it (therapy), had I not agreed to do Captain America and gone into panic mode. The second I agreed to do it (the movie), I was like, ‘All right, I’ll do this, but I’ve got to start working on my head.’" Evans has been struggling with anxiety for some time but the decision to work through his feelings with a therapist came to a head a few years ago during his press tour for Fantastic Four, when he became so nervous about meeting foreign reporters he pulled out of a European media junket.
He recalls, "No one’s even speaking to me, and, in a matter of 60 seconds, I went from being fine to full meltdown, just stood up and walked offstage." The therapy sessions appear to have helped and Evans insists he’s doing much better: "It is really good just to talk about what you’re struggling with. It’s not like I had any massive breakthrough, but, for some reason, this feels more manageable… How do we all manage our anxiety? By not keeping it a secret."

OLDMAN GAVE RADCLIFFE DATING TIPS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:34 pm

Reformed womaniser GARY OLDMAN gave DANIEL RADCLIFFE tips on how to woo the ladies when they worked together on the HARRY POTTER films.
The veteran actor, who played Sirius Black in the wizard movie franchise, often shared father-and-son style chats with the teenage Radcliffe on set.
And he’s revealed the youngster once asked for advice on how to charm women when he was nervous about a big date.
Oldman tells Britain’s Live magazine, "Daniel’s a lovely lad. When we did (Harry Potter and) the Prisoner of Azkaban he said to me, ‘I’m going away for the weekend. I’m going to this girl’s house and I really like her.’ It might have been his first real girlfriend.
"He was sleeping over; obviously her parents were there, but Daniel said, ‘I’m quite excited. Have you got any advice?’. He was 13 or so - we still laugh about that. I saw him about a year ago and we had a cup of tea together."

JOVOVICH SLAMS GALLIANO OVER ‘ANTI-SEMITIC’ RANT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:34 pm

Model-turned-actress MILLA JOVOVICH has taken a swipe at disgraced designer JOHN GALLIANO, insisting she has "no sympathy" for the fallen fashion king.
Galliano attended a court in Paris, France last month (Jun11) following his arrest over allegations he hurled a tirade of anti-Semitic and racist abuse at a couple while out drinking in the city earlier this year (11).
The former Christian Dior designer blamed his behaviour on his "addiction" to alcohol and his use of strong medication - but former supermodel Jovovich is not convinced.
She tells Britain’s Live magazine, "I have no sympathy for John Galliano. His sense of entitlement made him lose touch with reality. I’ve worked in fashion for years and never encountered that before.
"I worked with him and he’s an icon in the industry, incredibly talented, but when you’re an icon you have to be careful about what you say. I’ve got drunk in the past and acted belligerently, but I didn’t act racist. It’s not what I am. The drink unleashes things that are there. I’ve never had that. But he’ll be fine. He’s got his multi-millions to fall back on."
