TAYLOR: ‘SILENCE FOR GRAY WAS MOMENTOUS’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:23 pm

SLIPKNOT rocker COREY TAYLOR has spoken out about heavy rock fans’ silent tribute to his late pal and bandmate PAUL GRAY at Britain’s recent Sonisphere festival, revealing he was overcome with emotion.
Gray, who died from an accidental drug overdose in an Iowa motel room last year (May10), was remembered by music fans during a two-minute silence at the 10 June (11) event - before Slipknot’s headlining performance.
And Taylor admits he was blown away by the tribute.
He tells Britain’s Kerrang! magazine, "The two minutes of silence we had for Paul was deafening. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the band or from anyone onstage. It was momentous.
"Sonisphere was amazing. The show was everything I wanted it to be and more. Even with the rain, the audience was ready for us to hit it." Fans are still waiting to hear if Taylor will continue with the band following last year’s (10) tragedy. Prior to the run of Sonisphere gigs - the first shows the band played since Gray’s passing - the frontman admitted the concerts would be difficult for him.

The human mind can only bare so much before it explodes in emotions, and well… it is time to let the world know. I am excited and proud to announce that I am an open member of the homosexual community." However, Braff’s spokesperson tells TMZ.com the actor is not gay and was simply the victim of an Internet prankster.

WALSH WARY OF BECKHAM BABY’S NAME

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:32 pm

British singer KIMBERLEY WALSH is convinced VICTORIA BECKHAM’s new daughter HARPER SEVEN will have a hard time at school, because kids will mock her wacky name.
The former Spice Girls star and her soccer ace husband David were thrilled when she gave birth to their first baby girl earlier this month (Jul11).
They unveiled the tot in a series of photographs posted online and revealed the newborn was named after To Kill a Mockingbird author Harper Lee.
But Girls Aloud singer Walsh is adamant the unusual name will attract unwanted attention when Harper reaches school age.
In her column for Britain’s OK! magazine, she writes, "The name Harper Seven is controversial but we knew they’d choose something unusual. Harper is good, but the Seven part? Kids at school might nickname her ‘Half past seven’."

NO SUEDE ALBUM UNLESS ‘MAGIC’ HAPPENS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:29 pm

They have played a series of comeback shows without original guitarist Bernard Butler, and are heading back in to the studio - but Anderson is adamant fans won’t hear their new material if it isn’t up to scratch.
He tells BBC 6 Music, "We’re going to try to make a new Suede album but if the magic is not there then no one will hear it, that’s the truth."

TAYLOR TO RE-RELEASE ANTI-MURDOCH ANTHEM

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:29 pm

QUEEN rocker ROGER TAYLOR is to re-release a 1994 protest song he wrote about media tycoon RUPERT MURDOCH as the mogul fights to save his embattled empire’s reputation amid the ongoing phone-hacking scandal.
Murdoch’s News Corporation has been rocked by the News of the World phone-hacking crisis, leading him to close down the 168-year-old U.K. tabloid earlier this month (Jul11).
He was grilled by a British Parliament committee on Tuesday (19Jul11) over what he knew about the scandal, and was left shaken after a protester attacked him with a cream pie during the hearing.
Now the beleaguered 80 year old is under fire from drummer Taylor, who is re-releasing his anti-Murdoch anthem Dear Mr. Murdoch, which he penned in 1994 for his Happiness? album around the time the mogul was trying to buy U.K. soccer club Manchester United.
The song contains the lyrics, "We’re drowning in nipples and bingo and sex crimes… Dear Mr Murdoch, you’re really the pits, bad news is good business, you’re the king of the t**s." The song will be available to download via iTunes later this week (begs18Jul11).

GALLAGHER BLOCKS FREE DOWNLOADS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:29 pm

Rocker NOEL GALLAGHER is adamant he won’t be giving fans a taster of his new solo album by offering up free downloads, because his music is too valuable to give away.
A number of artists have attempted to overcome the issue of plummeting sales - caused by online file sharing - by offering free or discounted songs via their own official website.
But the former Oasis guitarist will not be taking a similar path with his upcoming album Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, because he works too hard to hand out his recordings for free.
Gallagher tells NME magazine, "No, no. No free downloads. I value my music. I don’t sit in a studio, and f**king make it up as I go along, and go, ‘This one’s free, then.’ I think if you buy it, you as a listener value it more. I’m just not into free downloads, and that’s an end of it.
"I know a lot of bands do it. Some of my favourite bands do it, like Kasabian for example, but it’s not something I would even consider. I never considered it in Oasis, and I’d never consider it now."

JESSIE J BLASTS SONGS LEAK

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:26 pm

British pop star JESSIE J has been left fuming after several of her unreleased songs leaked online.
The Price Tag hitmaker was furious when she discovered a number of tracks from her upcoming new album were available on the internet before their official release, and she’s blamed computer hackers for the leak.
In a post on Twitter.com, she writes, "It’s a real shame when people feel they have the right to leak an artist (sic) songs. It’s art and personal… I will never know (who did it). Could be anyone from a hacker to someone who has been sent the song once upon a time… Fluff it!! Imma (sic) just keep writing!! Keep believing and keep working my a** off!!"
