AKERMAN IMPRESSED WITH CRUISE’S SINGING

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:23 pm

TOM CRUISE’s singing skills have been given the thumbs-up by his ROCK OF AGES co-star MALIN AKERMAN, who is convinced the actor could "be an opera singer if he wanted to".
The Top Gun star will show off his musical prowess with a lead role in the upcoming movie adaptation of the hit Broadway show, and one scene sees him sing a duet with the Watchmen actress.
Akerman has now opened up about working with Cruise on the movie-musical, which is currently shooting in Florida, revealing his voice is so powerful, he could be a successful opera star.
She tells E! Online, "It’s kind of surreal, to go in and do, like, a duet with Tom Cruise. We sing I Want to Know What Love Is together, which is sick (good). So we had a really great scene, Tom and I. He was absolutely amazing to work with.
"You will be shocked. I kind of wasn’t that surprised, because when Tom does something he does it 150 per cent. So he really just brought his f**king game and he sounds like a rock star. I’m not kidding. He could be an opera singer if he wanted to. His voice is really powerful."

SPURLOCK MAKES DOCUMENTARY ABOUT COMIC-CON

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:14 pm

Award-winning director MORGAN SPURLOCK has bottled up the essence of Comic-Con for an upcoming documentary on the world-famous pop culture event.
The Super Size Me filmmaker followed seven die-hard fantasy fans as they wandered through the San Diego, California convention last year (10) and chronicled their experiences in the movie, and accompanying book, Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan’s Hope.
He tells Entertainment Weekly, "The idea of it was we were going to find different people who represented Comic-Con - an artist, a writer, a comic-book shop owner, a collector, someone who is competing in the masquerade.
"The film does show the fantastic spectacle of geekdom that goes on there, but I think it also shatters a lot of stereotypes. When you read through the book and see some of the quotes from people, you realise there are some eloquent people there. There are thought-provoking things happening. It’s not just people walking around in… costumes." Spurlock’s film is set to hit U.S. theatres this autumn (11).
The director will be a force at this year’s Comic-Con extravaganza, which began on Thursday morning (21Jul11).

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:23 pm

SIR PAUL McCARTNEY is to marry his fiancee NANCY SHEVELL in a small ceremony in London before flying his new bride to New York for a lavish party, according to a U.K. report.
The Beatles legend, 68, proposed to the heiress in May (11) after four years of dating and they are rumoured to be planning to exchange vows later this year (11).

GALLAGHER’S NEW SONG IS NOT ABOUT LIAM

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:20 pm

NOEL GALLAGHER has assured fans his new song THE DEATH OF YOU AND ME is not a critique of his fractured relationship with his brother Liam following intense speculation about the cryptic title.
The two brothers haven’t spoken since their now-famous bust-up backstage at an Oasis show in France in 2009 which brought the band to an end, and Noel even refused to invite Liam to his recent wedding to fiancee Sara MacDonald.
Liam now fronts Beady Eye and Noel is poised to release his first solo album, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, later this year (11), and he debuted the first single The Death Of You And Me this week (beg18Jul11).
The title has led to speculation that Noel wrote the song about his feud with Liam, but the rocker is adamant the rumours are not true.
He tells Britain’s Daily Telegraph, "The saying is that if you don’t leave a place it will be the death of you. The song is about people escaping the surroundings they are in, it’s not about me and Liam."
