CRUE AND POISON KEEPING THEIR DISTANCE ON TOUR

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:20 pm

The stars of MOTLEY CRUE and POISON appear to have failed to put their past animosities behind them on their joint tour - they rarely see each other at the shows, according to VINCE NEIL.
The Motley Crue rockers were initially reluctant to tour with the band after Poison frontman Bret Michaels first suggested it, but eventually agreed to the idea after coming under pressure from fans. Nikki Sixx even apologised for derogatory comments he made about Michaels’ group.
The joint tour - which also features the New York Dolls - kicked off in March (11), but Motley Crue singer Neil reveals they aren’t spending any time with their tourmates.
He tells the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, "When you’re on tour together, it’s not like you see each other. We don’t all hang out in a big room before the show. We get there at all different times. I don’t get there until Poison is on stage, and they’re usually gone by the time we get off stage".

COLD CHISEL CONFIRM FIRST TOUR IN 28 YEARS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:11 am

Australian rockers COLD CHISEL are making their return to the stage following the death of drummer STEVE PRESTWICH to embark on the band’s first tour in 28 years.
Prestwich died in January (11), two days after undergoing emergency surgery on a brain tumour.
His bandmates headed back into the studio in March (11) with replacement percussionist Charley Drayton, and now the rockers have announced plans to play 26 gigs across Australia and New Zealand throughout October and November (11) - their first shows since splitting in 1983.
Songwriter Don Walker reveals the death of their beloved bandmate was the catalyst for the concert plans.
In a press conference on Thursday (21Jul11), he told reporters, "For so many years we could’ve played together but didn’t because we always thought it could happen next year or in 10 years.
"One of the biggest lessons out of the Steve thing is that you don’t have unlimited time, you’ve only got a little window." The group will pay tribute to Prestwich during their shows by playing some of the late rocker’s unheard tracks which were found on an iPhone last month (Jun11).
Walker adds, "We got hold of the files which resulted in me sitting up late over a couple of nights around midnight listening to Steve on his own on his back porch strumming and writing beautiful songs." A slice of the profits from the tour will go to Prestwich’s children.

PINTO WANTED TO IGNITE CHANGE WITH MIRAL MOVIE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:08 am

Actress FREIDA PINTO was eager for fans to see her politically-charged film MIRAL because she was convinced it would show people the "real story" and help bring about social change.
The Slumdog Millionaire star was at first wary of taking on the project because she knew little about the subject - the Israeli-Palestinian conflict - however, Pinto admits once she started researching her role, she knew the film could do a lot to squash stereotypes and spark conversation.
Speaking to Interview magazine, she says, "There was a lot I had to learn, because all the news channels say is ‘Israeli soldiers’ and ‘Palestinian terrorists’ - we’ve already compartmentalised them. But when you go there, and you see the real story, there’s where your journey really begins…
"The best way to describe it is that there are people who are trying to make a difference in a very civil manner, not just by picking up a gun. I felt that if I became part of this film and I gave it my all, that’s exactly what I would be doing.
"I can’t join the army, I’m not a politician, but through my film I could talk about it. I knew the film was not going to be accepted too well, but I did it hoping that somewhere in the future it would be referred to as one of those films that started the conversation."

PRINCE ALBERT DISCUSSES MARRIAGE RUMOURS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:08 am

PRINCE ALBERT and his new wife, SERENE HIGHNESS PRINCESS CHARLENE OF MONACO, held a press conference after returning from their honeymoon in a bid to silence rumours about their marriage.
In the build-up to the royal wedding earlier this month (Jul11), reports circulated suggesting the South African swimmer had tried to flee Monaco three times, only to be stopped by the prince’s aides.
Following their two lavish marriage ceremonies, the new princess tried to stop the gossip, insisting she is "in love" with Prince Albert and accused critics of trying to "sabotage" their union.
New rumours of a rift erupted during the couple’s honeymoon in South Africa, when they spent a night in separate hotels, so the royals called a press conference in Monaco on Thursday (21Jul11) in a bid to end the speculation for good.
Prince Albert told reporters, "My family have long been the subject of rumours born out of jealousy. There’s one or more people in Monaco who are trying to cause harm. We want to express our indignation at these rumours. It’s unbearable.
"What’s regrettable is that the media pick up these rumours without verifying the information." Prince Albert also addressed the honeymoon story, adding, "Sometimes these rumours make us smile, for example when the media reported that the princess and I did not sleep in the same hotel in South Africa. That was for obvious practical reasons." A spokesperson confirmed the royal had an appointment early the next morning, prompting him to stay in a hotel closer to the meeting’s location.
