JAMES EARL JONES and VANESSA REDGRAVE are steering their hit Broadway play DRIVING MISS DAISY towards London.
The duo took to the stage in New York for a revival of Alfred Uhry’s award-winning play in October (10) and now they’ve signed on to reprise their roles when the production moves to the West End.
The two will take over Wyndham’s Theatre on 26 September (11), according to the Associated Press.
Jones and Redgrave aren’t the only ones taking their Broadway characters on the road - Christie Brinkley will portray killer Roxie Hart when her musical Chicago moves to England next month (Jul11).

Moviemaker ROBERT RODRIGUEZ kept his SPY KIDS 4 cast members guessing about why they were smelling so much in the film - because he wasn’t ready to tell them the film sequel would be released with Aromascope.
The director told stars like Antonio Banderas and Jessica Alba of the 4D development just before he announced the news to the media last week (ends24Jun11).
Throughout the film, his stars were asked to pretend they could smell things - pleasant and unpleasant - and now moviegoers will be able to sniff along thanks to a swipe card they’ll be given when they head into cinemas upon the film’s release in August (11).
Rodriguez tells the Los Angeles Times, "They (cast) were wondering why I kept having them smell things in their scenes. I called some of them last week to tell them for the first time and they were like, ‘Oh, so thatâ��s why you kept having us do that.’" The filmmaker admits not all the scents will be pleasant: "Itâ��s a mix. Thereâ��s a kid who pulls a lot of pranks, so there are a lot of smells associated with him. Some are food items, so sweet smells. Some are surprising smells."

Actress EVA MENDES will debut her singing voice in an upcoming perfume commercial.
The Hitch star has teamed up with Thierry Mugler as the face of their popular fragrance Angel and she’s so thrilled with the partnership, she offered to belt out a tune for a new ad, in which she stars.
She says, "They presented me with the (Michel Legrand and Alan Bergman) song Windmills of Your Mind, and they wanted to modernise it so I said, ‘Well, this happens to be one of my favourite songs, I’ll sing it.’ It fits the commercial so beautifully." And although Mendes doesn’t plan on switching careers, she works with a voice coach just in case a musical film role presents itself.
She adds, "I always take random classes that will help kind of keep my instrument in good working condition. So I’ll take vocal lessons or some dance classes. I always think that you have to be prepared for certain opportunities that are going to come your way." The commercial is set to air in the U.S. this autumn (11).

The moviemaker who captivated the world with the BLAIR WITCH PROJECT is now on the hunt for Bigfoot.
Director Eduardo Sanchez has been hired by Haxan Films executives to create a new movie about the mythical forest monster.
Exists will start shooting in Texas in October (11), according to Variety and will chronicle the exploits of a group of campers who are terrorised by a Bigfoot-type creature during a cabin vacation.
Sanchez hopes to turn the project into a trilogy, which will investigate all the legends surrounding the myth of Bigfoot.

ALICE COOPER’s fans were given an extra special treat during his gig in London on Sunday night (26Jun11), when Hollywood star JOHNNY DEPP stepped onstage to join the show.
The shock rocker was performing an intimate concert at the British capital’s iconic 100 Club, which was recently saved from closure following a star-studded campaign from musicians including Sir Paul McCartney and Sir Mick Jagger.
Depp, who started his career as a musician, stunned the crowd by appearing on stage with his guitar and joining in with a rendition of Cooper’s track I’m Eighteen.
The pair then performed Pink Floyd’s Another Brick In The Wall and Cooper’s mega-hit School’s Out.
After finishing the songs, Depp hugged Cooper, who told him, "I think we could use another guitar player, right? Johnny, this whole movie thing … If it doesn’t pan out, join us, okay?" The rocker also posted a picture of Depp from the night on his Facebook.com page alongside the words, "Johnny Depp!! Waiting to jump on stage with Alice for 18 and Schools Out!"

Stars including NICOLE RICHIE and JESSICA ALBA turned out for the wedding of a fashion writer in Los Angeles on Sunday (26Jun11).
Richie and her husband Joel Madden were on hand to see author and style blogger Katherine Power marry photographer Justin Coit at an L.A. registry office before a reception at renowned restaurant Mr Chow.
A heavily pregnant Alba also attended with her husband, Cash Warren.
After the ceremony, Richie toasted the newly-weds in a post on her Twitter.com page, writing, "Congratulations to the new married couple Mr. & Mrs. Coit!" Other famous guests included stylist Rachel Zoe and DJ Samantha Ronson.

British Prime Minister DAVID CAMERON has paid tribute to the politician who was found dead at the legendary Glastonbury music festival on Sunday (26Jun11), calling the aide a "great friend".
The body of 56-year-old Christopher Shale, a local Conservative Party chairman, was discovered in a portable toilet in the festival�s backstage VIP area on Sunday morning.
Police cordoned off the area behind the famed Pyramid stage, as well as a camping site where many production teams and artists were staying, as they investigated the death.
It subsequently emerged that Shale was a close friend of Cameron and the U.K. leader has now spoken out about his death.
He says in a statement, "He was a great friend and has been a huge support over the last decade… A big rock in my life has suddenly been rolled away. Christopher was one of the most truly generous people I’ve ever met. He was always giving to others, his time, his help, his enthusiasm and above all his love of life. It was in that spirit that he made a massive contribution to the Conservative Party both locally and nationally." A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police has confirmed they are not treating Shale’s death as suspicious, but will be conducting further tests to find out how he died.

The stars of Irish boyband WESTLIFE have offered to help police with their investigations in a bid to clear their manager LOUIS WALSH over allegations he indecently assaulted a man in April (11).
The Irish music mogul has vehemently denied groping a 24 year old in a restroom in Krystle nightclub in Dublin, Ireland following a Westlife concert at the city’s O2 venue earlier that night and last week (end26Jun11) he flew back to his native country to voluntarily answer cops’ questions.
Since news of the alleged incident emerged, celebrities including Sir Elton John, Simon Cowell and Sharon Osbourne have offered messages of support to Walsh, and now the stars of Westlife have spoken out in their manager’s defence.
Singer Kian Egan insists the pop stars are even willing to speak to investigating officers, telling Britain’s Daily Mirror, "We are ready to speak to police to clear Louis’ name. We are with him 100 per cent and will fully co-operate with the inquiry, but he is innocent." While Egan’s bandmate Shane Filan, who was with Walsh at the nightclub, is also convinced of his innocence, telling the Sunday Mirror: â��I was with Louis on the night this supposedly happened and Iâ��m 100 per cent that he is innocent. I have no doubt about Louisâ�� ­character. This is not the man Iâ��ve known for 15 years. I didnâ��t see anything untoward. Iâ��ve never seen him act ­inappropriately to anyone.
�Louis, me, my wife and the (Westlife) boys were at a table minding our own business. This guy came up and said he was going to be in a dance TV show. Louis wasn�t talking to the guy any more than the rest of us. I didn�t see him go off with this guy. Not to the toilets or anywhere else.�

Music mogul TOMMY MOTTOLA has become a father for a fourth time after his Mexican superstar wife THALIA gave birth to a baby boy on Saturday (25Jun11).
The couple welcomed a son weighing seven pounds, 14 ounces (3.2 kilograms), in New York and a representative confirmed the happy news to the New York Post’s gossip column Page Six, saying, "All are well and they couldn’t be any happier." The little boy’s name has yet to be revealed.
Mottola, who divorced pop superstar Mariah Carey in 1998 and married the Latina singer/actress in 2000, has two children, Michael and Sarah, from a previous relationship, as well as a three-year-old daughter, Sabrina, with Thalia.

Rapper YOUNG JEEZY is facing legal action after he allegedly pulled out of a concert in the Virgin Islands at the last minute.
The hip-hop star was reportedly lined up to appear at the Summer Splash 2011 gig, but a lawsuit filed in the tropical destination on Friday (24Jun11) alleges his representatives told organisers of a possible scheduling conflict 12 days before the 18 June (11) show.
He allegedly then pulled out even after bosses of Paid 4 Entertainment pushed the gig back a day and arranged for him to travel by private jet, according to TMZ.com.
Company bosses are seeking $75,000 (£46,875) in damages.

LADY GAGA is facing a multi-million dollar lawsuit over the sale of wristbands she created to raise funds for relief efforts in Japan.
The pop superstar designed the fashion accessory in the aftermath of the country’s devastating earthquake/tsunami disaster in March (11) and sold them to fans with the proceeds going to clean-up programs.
Attorneys from a law firm in Michigan filed a class action lawsuit against the Poker Face hitmaker in U.S. Federal Court on Friday (24Jun11), alleging she overcharged fans for shipping costs on the wristbands and pocketed a portion of the extra postal costs.
The $5 million (£3.1 million) suit names Gaga - real name Stefani Germanotta - as a defendant, as well as a number of her affiliated companies, and seeks compensation and statutory damages, including a refund for all of the plaintiffs who bought wristbands.
Alyson Oliver, partner of the 1-800-Law-Firm, says, "While we commend Lady Gaga for her philanthropic efforts, we want to ensure that claims that ‘all proceeds will be donated to Japanâ��s earthquake relief efforts’ are in fact true. Our intention with this lawsuit is to uncover any improprieties committed by Lady Gaga and appropriate the full donations assumed to the victims in Japan.â�� Last week (ends 26Jun11), Gaga was commended for her charity efforts by officials in Japan, while she performed at the MTV Music Video Aid Japan Show on Saturday (25Jun11).

Australian TV legend BERT NEWTON is feeling "great" after doctors discharged him from hospital following a bout of pneumonia this month (Jun11).
The entertainer was taken into the intensive care unit at Melbourne’s Epworth Hospital on 16 June (11) after reportedly contracting the infection from his infant granddaughter, but he was released on Sunday (26Jun11).
The hospitalisation meant the 72 year old had to temporarily drop out of his role in stage show Wicked in Perth, but he is now looking forward to rejoining the cast.
He tells Melbourne’s Herald Sun, "I feel great, it’s nice to be back under normal circumstances. It came as a bit of a shock, but so long as I do my best, the doctors tell me (to) do exactly what they say, and I’ll be back on stage very very soon." Newton admits the health scare is a "wake up call", but he is adamant he won’t be considering retirement, adding, "It’s the old story. What I do, I don’t see as a job, I see it as something I love doing and it’s a very important part of my life."

Veteran comedian JERRY LEWIS has cancelled the Sydney leg of his Australian charity tour as he recovers following his hospitalisation for exhaustion.
The comedian/actor planned the shows to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation, of which he is a patron, but pulled out of a charity gig on Friday (24Jun11) after falling sick. He checked into a local medical facility, where doctors concluded he was fatigued and overworked and ordered him to rest.
Lewis has now scrapped a number of upcoming appearances, including turns at a dinner gala and a luncheon, so he can rest up before flying to Melbourne on Wednesday (29Jun11). The veteran star is due to perform for 1,300 fans in the city on Thursday (30Jun11), but his appearance depends on his health, according to Muscular Dystrophy Foundation Australia boss David Jack.
Jack tells the AAP, "When Jerry lands he goes at it 110 per cent… Understandably, Jerry’s health is our primary concern throughout this period and we want to ensure he’s able to travel home healthy… That’s very sad for Jerry because he’s so passionate and committed to Muscular Dystrophy…
"He wanted me to give a very important message just to quash any rumours: ‘I’m not pregnant’."

A former contestant on JERRY SEINFELD’s hit reality TV show THE MARRIAGE REF has blamed the comedian and his popular series for allegedly wrecking his marriage.
Howie Kohlenberg, 47, from New York, appeared in the show’s debut episode last year (10) with his wife, Christine, in an attempt to save their relationship. But Kohlenberg is adamant their marriage crumbled following their appearance on the TV programme, which saw them discuss their problems with a celebrity panel made up of Seinfeld, Eva Longoria and Tina Fey.
Kohlenberg claims producers fuelled Christine’s desire for a new life without him and he is blaming executive producer and co-creator Seinfeld for the eventual break down of their relationship.
He tells the New York Post, "The headline should read, ‘Jerry Seinfeld ruined my life: the danger of reality shows’… Jerry, Mr. Billionaire, I blame. And his show… The people on the show were pumping us up, saying, ‘You’re going to wake up and be stars. You’re going to be famous and make money’… I’m not saying our marriage was perfect, but it put it in a whole new direction. It was the nail in the coffin… Everybody thinks reality shows are glamorous - you’re going to get rich, and it’s going to be the next Jersey Shore… They make you jump through hoops, the bottom line is they don’t give a s**t. You’re just another number." But Seinfeld is showing no remorse over the allegations, telling the New York Daily News, "I love it, I love, I love it! When people get upset I enjoy it. That heâ��s having problems, and blaming me, itâ��s all - anything that alleviates the withering, blithering boredom of existence Iâ��m in favour of.â��

JOHNNY KNOXVILLE has opened about the loss of his tragic JACKASS co-star RYAN DUNN in an emotional blog posted online, revealing he turned to his computer after words failed him at his friend’s memorial service.
The TV prankster was killed in a high speed car crash in Pennsylvania last week (20Jun11) and Knoxville was among the friends and family members who attended a special service in his memory two days after the tragedy (22Jun11).
Knoxville spoke at the memorial, but admits he struggled to find the words to describe how much his late pal meant to him, so he decided to write his feelings down in a note posted on his website titled ‘In memory of Ryan… From Knoxville With Love’.
He writes, "At Ryan’s memorial Wednesday… people were invited up to the microphone to say a few words about his life… I walked to the podium and tried to share memories of my dear friend, but the words were just spinning in my head. What came out were the mumblings of a man trying his best not to cry, and I wasn’t even successful at that… Here is what I wished I could have told everyone then…
"I felt 34 per cent funnier when I was with Ryan, but I guess everyone did… He wasn’t incapable of seriousness, though. Ryan was a great listener. If you were having troubles… Ryan also had an enormous capacity to love. His friends and family got a lot…" Knoxville goes on to express his great sadness that his children, daughter Madison and son Rocko, as well as his unborn daughter due later this year (11), will miss out on spending time with Dunn: "I’m becoming upset now because this isn’t right, Goddamnit. Ryan, I had to go wake up Madison and tell her you were gone. Do you know how hard that was?!!… Rocko will never get to know you like she did, nor will my daughter that is coming in October. I cry a lot about that." He adds, "I’m hurting!! We all are because we loved you so much and now you’re gone. I know your spirit lives on in me… but that’s pretty tough to see right now through the tears. I’m starting to ramble now, just like I did at the memorial, so I’ll stop… I’m just very sad because I lost my brother and my world got about 134 per cent less funny. "

JAMES BOND star DANIEL CRAIG has married British actress RACHEL WEISZ in a secret ceremony in New York.
The couple, who reportedly began dating after meeting on the set of upcoming movie Dream House, exchanged vows on Wednesday (22Jun11) in an intimate ceremony only attended by Craig’s teenage daughter Ella, Weisz’s five-year-old son Henry, and two family friends, according to Sky News.
Craig’s publicist Robin Baun, of Slate PR, confirmed the news to the Associated Press, but didn’t reveal any more details.
The Mummy star Weisz split from her long term partner and father of her son, Darren Aronofsky, last year (10), while Craig reportedly broke off his engagement to fiancee Satsuki Mitchell.

TOM HANKS has followed RYAN REYNOLDS’ lead and turned guest columnist for U.S. magazine Entertainment Weekly.
A week after The Proposal star wrote a mock piece about himself for the publication, Hanks has offered up tips on ‘How To Survive a Press Tour’.
Hanks starts off the article with the line, "By the time this issue of EW hits the streets, I should be done with an Around The World Tour promoting Larry Crowne, which opens July 1." Hanks co-wrote and directed the film and stars in it alongside Julia Roberts.
The movie star’s promotional schedule included "13 cities, 30 days, crossing all 24 time zones and the international date line." He calls the trek a "grueling combination of political campaign, global race, exotic vacation, and vision quest marked by exhaustion, jet lag and introductions to far more people than your brain can recall." His tips include: ‘Know Your Schedule, But Don’t Memorize it’ and ‘Be a Tourist For No More Than 30 Minutes a Day’.
