HURLEY ‘INSTANTLY’ FELL FOR WARNE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:25 pm

Actress/model ELIZABETH HURLEY has opened up about her romance with cricket ace SHANE WARNE, revealing it was love at first sight.
The Austin Powers star’s relationship with the Aussie sportsman emerged last year (10) and in the wake of the revelations, the British beauty confirmed she had split from her husband Arun Nayar several months earlier.
Their divorce was granted earlier this month (Jun11) and Hurley has now told of her fondness for Warne, insisting she was "instantly" attracted to him the moment they first met - but she admits their romance is a "challenge" because they live on opposite sides of the world.
She tells Britain’s Grazia magazine, "We come from very different worlds so I see that’s fascinating, if not odd, to many (fans). But it’s not often you meet people you instantly feel comfortable with, and when you find that - even if there are vast differences in background and experiences - it’s worth following through.
"When you recognise you have a lot in common with someone it’s nice to explore. The biggest problem is we’re 23 hours apart. It’s a challenge. We’ll see what happens."

WALSH BRANDS HUTCHISON’S TEEN MARRIAGE ‘CREEPY’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:25 pm

British singer KIMBERLEY WALSH has branded actor DOUG HUTCHISON’s marriage to a 16 year old "weird and creepy".
The Green Mile star, 51, wed aspiring singer Courtney Alexis Stodden in Las Vegas last month (May11), and they admitted the huge age-gap is "extremely controversial".
And Girls Aloud star Walsh agrees their marriage is eyebrow-raising - because Stodden is "still a kid".
In her column for British magazine OK!, she writes, "It’s weird and creepy! With an age-gap like that I don’t understand how you’d have enough in common and how their lives wouldn’t end up moving in different directions.
"At 16 you’re still a kid, how can she possibly know that she’s going to want to spend the rest of her life with that person?"

HILSON’S SCHOOL VISITS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:25 pm

R&B star KERI HILSON stops at schools in every city she visits to "shed the perception" students have about fame.
The Knock You Down hitmaker recently cleared her busy schedule to make an appearance at an east London school, where she encouraged youngsters to work hard to reach their goals.
Hilson insists it’s important for teens to understand her life in the spotlight is not as glamorous as it seems.
She tells Britain’s Metro, "I love doing it and try to do it most places I visit. (In London, I visited) a class of kids who wanted to work in entertainment.
"I love shedding the perception they have of me - the clothes, the hair and make-up, the heels, the expensive cars. The person they get in real life is very different to that. They each had a dream about working in the industry and I gave them the real (story). I don’t sugar-coat it when I talk to kids."

NUTINI REFUSES TO BECOME A TAX EXILE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:22 pm

Singer PAOLO NUTINI has vowed never to flee his native Britain to live as a tax exile abroad.
The Scottish star refuses to complain about paying high income rates after former Formula One racer Sir Jackie Stewart revealed to him how much he handed over to the U.K. government in the 1970s.
Nutini tells Scotland’s Daily Record, "It wasn’t long ago I had the utmost pleasure of sitting with Jackie Stewart one evening. Nick Mason, from Pink Floyd, was there as well. These sportsmen and celebrities were talking about paying more than 90 per cent tax back in their heyday.
"So I realised it could be worse. While I do fancy some sunshine, I would not consider being a tax exile at all." And the Last Request hitmaker feels it is his duty to give back some of his earnings to help fund public services he has depended on in the past.
He adds, "I don’t mind paying tax. It’s not a great thing, but somebody paid for me to go through school and somebody paid all my doctors’ bills."

JOYCE SLAMS MORRISSEY FOR PERFORMING SMITHS TRACKS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:22 pm

British rocker MIKE JOYCE has reignited his war of words with MORRISSEY, mocking the singer for playing songs by their former band THE SMITHS during his set at Glastonbury festival.
The drummer famously sued the Suedehead hitmaker and Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr in the 1990s for an increased share of the band’s royalties.
He won the case and has exchanged barbed comments with Morrissey in interviews and internet postings ever since - and now he’s taken aim again following the singer’s set at the iconic British festival on Friday (24Jun11).
Morrissey performed several The Smiths tracks during the show, including This Charming Man and Meat Is Murder, but Joyce is adamant the renditions were not as good as the original versions.
He also made a barbed comment that the singer was not part of the cult British band because he didn’t write music - but he also appears to offer an olive branch by praising the rest of Morrissey’s Glastonbury set.
In a series of posts on Twitter.com, Joyce writes, "Gr8 (great) performance from M (Morrissey) at Glasto but didn’t like the cover versions. M was in the group… but not in the band, those tunes belong to them… The "band" were the musicians in The Smiths… Mozzer (Morrissey) wasn’t in the "band" (he) was the singer/lyricist in the group… I think "cover versions" was maybe the wrong phrase. I just didn’t enjoy The Smiths songs. He sounded great tho (though)."

Perry took to her Twitter.com page to post a picture of herself and her dancers waving rainbow flags at the event, which was held just two days after gay marriage was legalised in the state.
She wrote alongside the picture: "We (are) out celebrating EQUALITY FOR ALL!" The I Kissed a Girl hitmaker wasn’t the only star at the event - Wonder Woman actress Lynda Carter was also celebrating, as was New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, who signed the historic bill to recognise same-sex marriage.

NE-YO ADMITS INFIDELITY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:19 pm

R&B star NE-YO has revealed there is "an ugly side" to him after confessing he previously cheated on girlfriends.
The So Sick hitmaker, real name Shaffer Smith, and his girlfriend Monyetta welcomed daughter Madilyn Grace in November (10).
But the singer admits he’s not always been a settled family man and has previously become involved in trysts with other women.
He tells Britain’s more! magazine, "Talking about men cheating, I have to say, each to their own. I can’t just say they’re all bad as I’ve been guilty of it myself.
"There are times when I know I’m not the nicest person, when I know what I’m doing is wrong. But then sometimes you have to figure out what’s really important to you. There are times when I get upset, there’s an ugly side to me - it’s not all smiles."

WALSH ASSAULT ALLEGATION DROPPED

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:19 pm

Music mogul LOUIS WALSH is no longer under investigation after allegations he indecently assaulted a man in a nightclub restroom in Ireland earlier this year (11) were dropped.
The TV star, who serves as a judge on Simon Cowell’s British reality show The X Factor, vehemently denied accusations he groped a 24 year old in the Krystle nightclub in Dublin following a Westlife concert in April (11).
After news of the alleged incident emerged, stars including Cowell and Sir Elton John reached out to support their pal, while Walsh jetted to his native country to voluntarily attend a two-hour questioning by police last week (end26Jun11).
Now Walsh has announced the investigation has been dropped - but the TV judge is adamant he will be taking legal action over early reports of the accusation.
In a statement, he says, "I have been informed by An Garda Siochana (Ireland’s national police service) that I am now no longer under investigation. I have robustly maintained from the outset that this alleged incident did not occur.
"While I obviously welcome today’s confirmation from the Garda that the matter has been dropped I remain outraged that this story ran in the first place… and I have instructed my libel lawyer to vigorously pursue legal action… I have no intention of letting this matter rest until I have received total and absolute vindication.
"This has been a hugely distressing time for me but I would like to thank all my friends and colleagues for their support and I am now just looking forward to getting back to work."

TWILIGHT LANDMARK DEMOLISHED

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:19 pm

A popular TWILIGHT landmark has been demolished after a fan fundraiser to save the site failed to reach its target.
A campaign to raise $287,000 (£179,000) to preserve the facade of Forks High School in Forks, Washington raised just a few thousand dollars, according to the Peninsula Daily News.
The school, where Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson filmed scenes for the hit vampire movies, is one of a handful of locations in the sleepy town visited by devotees of the franchise.
The facade was bulldozed earlier this month (Jun11) as bosses make way to build a new school.

MONTEITH VISITS HOMELESS HOSTEL IN LONDON

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:16 pm

CORY MONTEITH took time out from the GLEE concert tour to visit homeless youngsters in London on Monday (27Jun11).
The actor, who plays football hunk Finn Hudson on the hit TV show, stopped at a hostel in the British capital to meet youths being supported by Sir Richard Branson’s charity, Virgin Unite, which aims to provide accommodation for troubled teens.
He shared stories about his own teenage years in Canada when he dropped out of school and had nowhere to live.
Monteith said, "I moved to Vancouver because I wanted to act. I had nothing more than a plastic bag full of T-shirts and slept on my drama teacher’s floor and friends’ floors." The star hopes his position as an ambassador for Virgin Unite will inspire fans to help tackle homelessness among the young.
He tells Sky News, "This is a personal issue for me. I’ve been at risk and living in a marginalised situation and my passion is to give something back. That sounds so hokey, but it’s a shame to be in a situation and not raise awareness for the greater good…
"It is an all-pervading social problem, not just here in the U.K., but worldwide and in my home country Canada and the U.S.A.
"It is something that is truly unacceptable in this day and age and in the first world for people to overlook the problem of youth homelessness."

HATHAWAY CONFRONTED FRANCO OVER OSCARS REMARK

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:16 pm

ANNE HATHAWAY confronted her 2011 Oscars co-presenter JAMES FRANCO after he compared her high-energy performance onstage to a Tasmanian devil.
The duo was heavily criticised after hosting the Academy Awards in February (11), with Franco subsequently blaming the actress’ animated delivery for making him look "stoned" in comparison.
He told U.S. talk show host David Letterman, "People said I was under the influence… I love her, but Anne Hathaway is so energetic, I think the Tasmanian devil would look stoned standing next to Anne Hathaway." Hathaway admits she and Franco have discussed their much-maligned presentation - and she took the Pineapple Express star to task over his unfavourable comment.
She tells Harper’s Bazaar, "How did I take it? I let James know that a whirling dervish is a more flattering comparison than a Tasmanian devil. I called him, and we emailed a bit." But The Devil Wears Prada star has refused to let the criticism dampen her memories of their big night.
She adds, "In the grand scheme of things, I got to have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I met great people, wore beautiful clothes. And I got to put on a show. I don’t see a downside. Anyone who disliked my personality probably disliked my personality before the Oscars."

ANDERSON COUNTERSUED OVER LAS VEGAS PROPERTY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:31 pm

Actress PAMELA ANDERSON has been countersued by an ex-boyfriend after she accused him of failing to honour his pledge to build her a Las Vegas condo.
The former Baywatch star filed legal papers in February (11) claiming she made the deal in 2006 with her former partner, real estate entrepreneur Laurence Hallier, while they were still in a relationship.
In the lawsuit, Anderson alleges she agreed to promote his Las Vegas Panorama Towers development in return for one of the properties for free, while Hallier is said to have agreed to hand her $1 million (£666,667) in cash if the apartment wasn’t built in time.
Anderson duly took legal action when she allegedly failed to receive the property or money - but now Hallier is hitting back by claiming she’s not entitled to the payment because she didn’t fulfil her duties.
He has filed his own lawsuit claiming Anderson’s lack of promotion for the properties cost him $22.5 million (£14.1 million) in unsold units, reports TMZ.com.

And the star admits she never truly thought about her accomplishments until she had time to relax and take it in.
She tells CNN’s Piers Morgan, "I love what I do, I love writing songs… I do not count the 72 songs I wrote in that year (off) as work because it is what I was born to do. And (in my year off) I learned balance, I learned the importance of taking time for myself.
"I was moving around so much that I didn’t realise I have 16 Grammies. I’ve heard that, I’ve got up and accepted my awards, but I didn’t realise what a massive accomplishment that is."
