SCHERZINGER UPSET ABOUT COLE X-FACTOR ‘STUNT’ DRAMA
Pop star NICOLE SCHERZINGER has blasted her ex-manager for sparking rumours she was always destined to become a judge on SIMON COWELL’s U.S. X FACTOR talent show - and first choice, CHERYL COLE’s appointment, was all part of a publicity stunt.
Jeff Haddad has claimed Cole, who is a judge and mentor on the British version of the show, was never going to get the job - even though she was Cowell’s first choice.
He insists Scherzinger, who was initially named as co-host, was always the girl who would land the judging spot alongside Cowell and music industry heavyweight Antonio ‘L.A.’ Reid.
But the Pussycat Dolls star insists Haddad has got it all wrong, and she isn’t happy that he has stirred up the drama.
During an appearance on U.S. radio show Kidd Kraddick in The Morning, she said, "That’s such gossip, man. I was very hurt by that because it was my ex-manager who said that. It just unfortunately goes to show how much he doesn’t know… He wasn’t involved.
"It was a hard process for me and I’m sure for Cheryl. I started out as a co-host and I loved the job. They offered me the job (of judge) and I was just ecstatic and I was so grateful to be a part of it (show) in that way." And she’s positive bosses at production company Freemantle didn’t waste cash on a publicity stunt: "I don’t think Freemantle and all these people would go through all that money to have to go through something like that."
