Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:40 am

BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN has sent out a message to fans of his E STREET BAND, assuring them that his longtime saxophonist CLARENCE CLEMONS is on the mend after suffering a stroke on Sunday (12Jun11).
The 69-year-old was hospitalised in Florida and reports about his condition have been sketchy at best, but now Springsteen has spoken out to confirm he’s optimistic for Clemons’ recovery.
A statement from The Boss reads, "By now, many of you have heard that our beloved comrade and sax player Clarence Clemons has suffered a serious stroke. While all initial signs are encouraging, Clarence will need much care and support to achieve his potential once again.
"He has his wonderfully supportive wife, Victoria, excellent doctors and health care professionals, and is surrounded by friends and family. I thank you all for your prayers and positive energy and concern. This is a time for us all to share in a hopeful spirit that can ultimately inspire Clarence to greater heights."

PRODUCERS KEPT WAYNE’S COWBOY ROOTS A SECRET FROM FILM CAST

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:40 am

The producers and director of new sci-fi western COWBOYS & ALIENS kept star BRENDAN WAYNE’s famous family ties from the rest of the cast and crew for fear of turning JOHN WAYNE’s grandson into a novelty on set.
The actor plays Keith Carradine’s sheriff’s deputy in the Jon Favreau film, but no one knew of his links to The Duke until he brought it up.
Wayne tells Cowboys & Indians magazine, "They didn’t make a big deal about it… I realised that they’d sort of kept it a secret because they wanted me to have my own identity on the set.
"They wanted to be sure everyone just knew me as Brendan and I thought that was really thoughtful and respectful of them." And Wayne insists his grandfather would have approved of the quirky western, in which Carradine, himself, Daniel Craig and bad guy Harrison Ford team up to battle aliens in the Wild West.
He adds, "He was always up for a challenge, so I would imagine he would have thought it was cool… I think he would have rolled his eyes at first, but then, based on what I’ve seen, he would have been really proud of it as a western."

LORD OF THE RINGS star ELIJAH WOOD became gypsy punk band GOGOL BORDELLO’s saviour on the road - when his celebrity helped save the group from a time-consuming police investigation.
The actor joined his girlfriend, Gogol Bodello drummer Pamela Racine, on tour and he quickly proved he can be useful to have around - especially when your band is stopped by the infamously thorough cops in Arizona.
Band frontman Eugene Hutz explains, "They were really determined to find some drugs, so they’re searching for, like, an hour until they obviously don’t find any.
"One cop comes back with this shiny face, like he’s got something. He goes, ‘How do you explain your possession of this?’ And it was a bag with Elijah’s name tag on it.
"Five minutes later they’re all taking pictures with Elijah for their families."

GOODWIN: ‘WEIGHT WATCHERS BACKLASH WAS A SHOCK’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:37 am

GINNIFER GOODWIN was stunned by the backlash she received after opening up about her lifelong dedication to diet company Weight Watchers, insisting she "could not believe" how harsh the criticism was.
The Walk The Line star revealed last month (May11) that she was first introduced to the diet plan as a child, when her parents feared she was on the verge of becoming overweight.
The healthy eating programme helped Goodwin to slim down as she developed into a teenager and she has been an avid calorie-counter ever since.
But Goodwin found herself under attack for being a bad role model, with critics accusing the actress of suffering from "body issues" and speculating she had an eating disorder - allegations she denied.
She admits the negative reaction came as a shock - because she wanted to show others struggling with their weight that it was fine to seek help with their diets.
Goodwin tells Glamour magazine, "I’d hoped that in sharing my Weight Watchers story, I’d be giving permission to women who are afraid to join a programme or go to meetings.
"I think the noblest thing you can do is to ask for help. And I was hoping to be an example, because we can’t all look like the actresses and models you see on the covers of magazines - who aren’t doing it healthfully anyway, I promise you. But I could not believe the backlash.
"People accused me of having body issues, an eating disorder. But most people probably don’t know what Weight Watchers is - it’s really about good eating habits."
