The young cast of SUPER 8 gave director J.J. ABRAMS a scare by pretending the film’s top secret script was lost in a shopping mall.
The film’s star Riley Griffiths was given the task of breaking the bogus bad news to Abrams as part of an April Fools’ Day prank, and he admits he was terrified of upsetting the director.
He says, "We came up with this idea where we tell him that I lost the script in a mall in L.A. and it’s online right now… I didn’t want to do this… I was so scared and when I go in, I look up and there’s a window above J.J’s office and I see all the boys lined up.
"I was on the verge of crying because I didn’t want to do this… I could just see the disappointment in his face."

Bosses at HUGH HEFNER’s Playboy publishing enterprise are facing legal action from a model who alleges she suffered a debilitating knee injury during a 2009 photoshoot on a trampoline.
Busty beauty Denise Underhill filed suit in Los Angeles Superior Court last month (May11), claiming she was not properly warned about the dangers of the job after she was "requested to jump on a trampoline… in order for photographs to be taken of her".
She suffered a torn meniscus in her right knee as a result of the exercise, but was not given full medical help and was sent home with crutches.
Underhill alleges she required surgery to treat the injury and she is suing for $25,000 (£15,625) in damages, reports TMZ.com.

HUGH HEFNER’s bride-to-be CRYSTAL HARRIS has called off the couple’s impending nuptials and moved out of the Playboy mansion - five days before the couple was due to wed, according to a report.
The publishing mogul, 84, proposed to Harris on Christmas Day (25Dec10) and was set to exchange vows with the 24 year old on Saturday (18Jun11).
But, according to TMZ.com, his fiancee has had second thoughts about marrying Hefner after the couple became embroiled in a heated argument over the phone at the weekend (11-12Jun11).
The website claims Harris promptly moved her belongings out of Hefner’s famous Los Angeles estate.
A representative for Hefner has yet to comment on the report.

British singer AMY WINEHOUSE was back on stage for a secret concert on Sunday (12Jun11) - less than two weeks after completing a rehab stint.
The Back to Black hitmaker, who has long struggled with substance abuse, checked out of The Priory clinic earlier this month (Jun11) after reportedly suffering a relapse.
But Winehouse proved she’s on the road to recovery as she took the stage at London’s 100 Club to perform a seven-song set, which included her hits Rehab and Valerie.
Among the crowd cheering Winehouse on at the secret show were her parents and filmmaker boyfriend Reg Traviss.
A source tells Britain’s The Sun, "Gone was the fragile, volatile and unpredictable Amy. She wasn’t knocking back vodka on stage… Amy was on fantastic form. She looked and sounded great. It was like one of her old performances.
"She had the crowd laughing along with her gags, poking fun at herself and dad Mitch." Winehouse is due to kick off a European tour in Serbia on Saturday (18Jun11).

THE KILLS star JAMIE HINCE escaped London ahead of his wedding to KATE MOSS next month (Jul11) by taking a whirlwind trip through France for his bachelor party.
The rocker, who will marry the supermodel in early July (11), was joined by Moss’ brother Nick and artist Jake Chapman for a luxury trip, which included stops in Paris, Nice and St Tropez over the weekend (10-12Jun11).
And the men made sure they travelled in style - by taking private jets and helicopters to each destination.
A source tells Britain’s The Sun, "The boys flew to Paris on Friday night on a private jet and didn’t get any real sleep until Monday morning.
"The jet took them from London to Paris on Friday, then on to Nice on Saturday. They then got a chopper to St Tropez on Saturday afternoon and then to Monaco on Saturday night. They had a dabble in the casino and a few of them left with some cash in their pocket." The bride-to-be celebrated her last days of single life by taking her female friends to the weekend’s (10-12Jun11) Isle of Wight Festival in Britain.

TOM CRUISE and actress LEA THOMPSON were completely naked for their make-out session in cult film ALL THE RIGHT MOVES, according to the BACK TO THE FUTURE star.
Experts state that there was a freeze-frame scene of full-frontal nudity in the 1983 movie and Thompson admits there could well be.
Appearing on Access Hollywood Live on Monday (13Jun11), she reveals, "Everybody made a really big deal about it (Cruise being naked) and I was like, ‘I’m naked too!’" Asked if she and Cruise were wearing protection and coverage, she added, "We couldn’t do that… You could see the sides of us.
"I remember they were ready to shoot and it was a closed set and everything, and the DP (director of photography) said to me, ‘Do you have any body make-up on,’ and I said, ‘What’s that?’ I was so young; I had no idea." But Thompson admits it was a thrill to work with "committed" Cruise: "It was my second or third movie and I had never worked with anyone, like, real kind of method before. He taught me a lot. He was great."

Legendary singer/songwriter CAROLE KING is set to tell her life story in a memoir.
The 69-year-old star has signed a deal with bosses at Grand Central Publishing to write an autobiography named after one of her biggest hits, Natural Woman.
The Grammy winner, who has penned tracks for the Drifters, Linda Ronstadt and Celine Dion, will release the book in April (12).

Rocker AMY LEE has dealt former boyfriend SHAUN MORGAN another blow - she has stolen his guitarist for her band EVANESCENCE.
Troy McLawhorn quit Morgan’s group Seether earlier this year (11) due to "personal friction" with a bandmate, and now he has rejoined Lee and Evanescence - the band he left to join Seether in 2008.
Announcing the news on his Facebook.com page, he writes, "I’m really happy to be back again and can’t wait for everyone to hear the new music." And Lee took to Twitter.com to confirm the reunion: "I’m proud to announce that Troy McLawhorn is back in Ev! Album is sounding awesome! We love you Troy! Welcome back." The news came as a surprise to Morgan, who wrote on Twitter, "Interesting news about our old guitarist. Can anyone guess? No, he’s not coming back. He went to another band. Little anti-Shaun club. Tennessee’s Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival closed on a tragic note when a second person died after attending the event.
Officials announced on Monday (13Jun11) that Christopher William Yoder, 24, died of hyperthermia on Sunday (12Jun11) after being airlifted from the Manchester festival to a hospital in Chattanooga.
A statement from Bonnaroo organisers says, "The safety of our patrons is our No. 1 concern, and we are deeply saddened by this." The body of a 32-year-old woman was discovered in a tent at Bonnaroo on Thursday (09Jun11).
Artists including Eminem, The Strokes, the Black Keys, Arcade Fire and Lil Wayne performed at the annual four-day event.

The sister of vanished MANIC STREET PREACHERS rocker RICHEY EDWARDS is set to urge Members of Parliament in the U.K. to offer more support for families of missing persons.
The guitarist disappeared from London in 1995 and his car was later found abandoned in his native Wales, sparking fears he had committed suicide. He was legally declared dead in 2008.
His younger sister Rachel Elias is still haunted by his disappearance, but she has agreed to speak about Edwards as she gives evidence at a missing persons inquiry on Thursday (16Jun11).
Representing U.K. charity Missing People, Elias hopes to convince officials to do more to help people searching for their missing loved ones.
In a piece for Britain’s The Sun, she writes, "Having a missing person in the family is like living in limbo. My brother is always on my mind, a constant shadow…
"When someone dies you begin in time to accept they’re gone. But when someone’s missing you never have that. I’ll be nervous giving my evidence to the Parliamentary missing persons inquiry on Thursday but I know it’s something I have to do.
"We want families to know everything is being done to find their loved one. My brother’s case was handled by three separate police forces and they weren’t very helpful.
"We want DNA of missing people to be cross-matched to unidentified bodies. We want families to have access to support. My family was never offered any counselling. And finally we need action to reform the long, painful process of having a missing loved one declared legally dead.
"I still have no evidence to say that my brother Richey’s not alive. Every day I hope for some kind of outcome."

British drum and bass star RONI SIZE has denied assaulting his girlfriend in an alleged altercation last year (10).
A jury heard on Monday (13Jun11) that the DJ, real name Ryan Williams, dragged Jane Andrews by her hair before pushing her down a staircase at his home last July (10).
Jurors at Bristol Crown Court in England were also told Williams had been drinking before the incident.
Prosecutor Ramin Pakrooh said, "A row began and it was heated and it culminated in him throwing her from the top of the stairs, leaving her heel shattered with a very serious fracture.
"He had been verbally aggressive to her in the past and used to throw things around but he had not hit her. He took her by her head and frogmarched her to the top of the lower staircase, gripping (her) by her hair and armpits. She was dragged at such a pace that she could not keep up with her feet.
"He then pushed or threw (her) down the stairs… when she reached the bottom (she) immediately felt her heel go. He didn’t take her complaints seriously and smirked." The 41 year old denies grievous bodily harm.
The trial continues.

Movie mogul JOEL SILVER is to develop a live-action film based on cartoon hero BEN 10.
The Matrix trilogy producer has signed on to adapt the shift-shaping character’s TV series into a big screen project.
He tells Variety, "I think we have to try something fresh and go at it in a way that stays true to the original material. I have a five year old and a nine year old, so it’s somewhere between them." And he hopes this film will be a lot more successful than his last attempt to turn a cartoon into a movie: "I tried to do (something similar) with Speed Racer and failed miserably. You always learn more from the ones that don’t work than the ones that do work."

Funnyman JOHN CLEESE is developing a musical version of his hit comedy A FISH CALLED WANDA.
The Monty Python star has teamed up with his daughter Camilla to rework the 1988 jewel heist film, which starred Cleese, Jamie Lee Curtis and Kevin Kline.
And the Brit insists he’s thoroughly enjoying working with Camilla on the project.
He says, "They asked me if we could try and write a musical of A Fish Called Wanda… We changed the last 20 minutes completely. It’s been great fun changing it. I love writing with Camilla. Camilla has great, unusual ideas, off-the-wall ideas and I’m a good little technician, I can do the carpentry.
"We’ve handed the book in - that’s everything except the music - and what we’re trying to figure out now is a deal with MGM, ’cause they own the rights, they made the original movie. The other thing is to get a director to help us integrate the music into it because I’m hilariously unmusical. I’m so unmusical that when I was in a Broadway musical, they refused to let me sing. I had to mime onstage!"

Actor IDRIS ELBA has cast doubt on whether he will walk down the aisle again after a failed marriage in his 20s.
The Wire star wed Dormowa Sherman in 1997 before they split in 2001 and became parents to a daughter, Isan, the following year (02).
Elba went on to have a son with another partner, but is currently single - and the Brit admits he’s reluctant to settle down again.
He tells Britain’s Daily Mirror, "Would I marry again? I don’t think so. The children and family stuff I did really young. I got married at 25 and it flip-flopped for me a little bit.
"I’ve done it, seen it, some things don’t work for me. But I’d never say never, and I don’t discourage people who are in love and want to do it."

PETER JACKSON’s drama THE LOVELY BONES has received an unwanted accolade - it was the most complained about movie in the U.K. last year (10).
The film, starring Saoirse Ronan as a murdered girl who watches over her family in the afterlife, received 24 objections at the U.K. ratings body - more than any other film in 2010.
According to an annual report by the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC), many film fans found The Lovely Bones "to be a shocking and upsetting experience." Superhero action movie Kick-Ass drew 21 complaints for its graphic violence and strong language, while Toy Story 3, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 and The Princess and the Frog also attracted letters from offended filmgoers.

ZSA ZSA GABOR’s husband PRINCE FREDERIC VON ANHALT walked away unscathed from a car crash in Los Angeles on Monday (13Jun11).
Von Anhalt was driving his Mercedes-Benz to his home when he slammed into the back of a van that had stopped in front of him, causing the vehicle to plough into a car.
Cops were called to the scene, but nobody was injured, reports TMZ.com.
