ALLEN’S BABY JOY ON WEDDING DAY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:07 pm

British singer LILY ALLEN is pregnant just months after losing her baby son.
The Smile hitmaker wed her fiance Sam Cooper near their home in the English countryside on Saturday (11Jun11) and her new husband reportedly announced the couple’s baby news during his speech to guests at the reception.
Cooper reportedly told the 100-strong wedding party his new bride is 16 weeks pregnant, and the news was later confirmed by Allen’s dress designer, Delphine Manivet.
During the wedding ceremony, Allen was said to have been sporting a visible baby bump, and Britain’s Daily Telegraph newspaper quotes Ms Manivet as saying, "It’s beautiful that she is pregnant, and I am very happy for her. She is very happy about that - it is something wonderful… You can see of course the little stomach - it looked very cute with the dress.
"For me, and for her too, when you’re pregnant you want to show that, but also be respectful, so the dress was perfect for her for that moment." Allen suffered a miscarriage in 2008 while dating Chemical Brothers star Ed Simons. Last November (10), she lost her baby son by Cooper at six months pregnant.

PRINCE PHILIP RECEIVES NEW TITLE TO MARK 90TH BIRTHDAY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:21 am

QUEEN ELIZABETH II has bestowed a new title on her husband PRINCE PHILIP to mark his 90th birthday and recognise his years of service in the British navy.
The Duke of Edinburgh celebrated the age milestone on Friday (10Jun11) and the monarch made sure the occasion would be a memorable one by naming the birthday boy Lord High Admiral, formally placing him as the head of the Royal Navy.
However, the title is only in name and he will not hold any authority over the U.K.’s naval force.
The Duke served his country during World War II and stepped down from his duties in 1952, when Elizabeth took over the throne from her father George VI.
A military band paid tribute to Prince Philip on Friday by playing a rendition of Happy Birthday outside London’s Buckingham Palace, while a 62-gun salute also took place at the Tower of London.

PITT AND JOLIE DONATE TO TORNADO-DEVASTATED CITY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:18 am

BRAD PITT and ANGELINA JOLIE have donated $500,000 (£312,500) to the relief effort in the tornado-struck city of Joplin, Missouri, where the actor spent part of his childhood.
Pitt, who grew up in nearby Springfield, recently revealed his shock at the devastation caused by last month’s (May11) massive twister, which ripped through the city and claimed the lives of more than 120 people.
He admitted Joplin had a special place in his heart as he used to travel there to pay regular visits to his grandparents, who hailed from the area.
And now the Hollywood supercouple has reached into its own pockets to help locals get back on their feet by handing over a big cheque to the Community Foundation of the Ozarks, supporting mid and long-term rebuilding efforts in the city.
In a statement, Pitt says, "With the devastating loss of thirty per cent of the city, the Joplin community faces great challenges ahead. Having spent much of my childhood there, I know these people to be hardworking, humble and especially resilient.
"The locally based Community Foundation of the Ozarks will be working shoulder to shoulder with these Joplin residents for the long haul as they rebuild their lives. We, too, hope to further help with these rebuilding efforts." Jolie adds, "Our hearts go out to the families in Joplin who have lost so much."

RAPPER WAYNE SUED OVER 2008 SINGLE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:16 am

Rap superstar LIL WAYNE has been slapped with a new lawsuit over allegations of unpaid royalties stemming from a 2008 collaboration with T-PAIN.
Production duo Play-N-Skillz provided the beat for Got Money, the Lollipop hitmaker’s popular single with T-Pain, but claim they are owed at least $1 million (£625,000) from its release and inclusion on Wayne’s album Tha Carter III.
The song proved to be such a big hit, Korn frontman Jonathan Davis even interpreted it for rock audiences.
Play-N-Skillz first brought up the issue of non-payment in 2009, but the two parties have failed to make any progress in the months since, forcing the producers to file suit this month (Jun11), reports AllHipHop.com.
It’s the second legal battle stemming from Tha Carter III to surface within a week - producer David Kirkwood recently launched legal action over allegations of outstanding payments and royalties surrounding sales of the hit album.

COWELL WILL SHOW COLE DRAMA IN X FACTOR

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:13 am

SIMON COWELL has decided to address the drama surrounding CHERYL COLE’s departure from THE X FACTOR in the American show when it debuts later this year (11).
The British pop star, who sat on the judging panel of the U.K. version of the series, was picked to front the new U.S. sister show with Cowell, Paula Abdul and Antonio ‘L.A.’ Reid, but was subsequently dropped and replaced by Nicole Scherzinger when she failed to impress TV bosses. It later emerged Cole had been given the chance to return to the U.K. show, but turned it down.
Cole left after filming two audition episodes in the U.S., and Cowell has now confirmed the footage will be included when The X Factor hits the small screen later in the year (11).
He tells Access Hollywood, "Yeah, you’re gonna see her on the show." Cowell also reveals Pussycat Dolls star Scherzinger, who was initially hired to host the show with Welsh star Steve Jones, was the only choice as a replacement, adding, "What else are we gonna do? She (Scherzinger) would’ve killed me if I’d a chosen anyone else. I literally would have been killed."

VOIGHT SNUBBED BY LENNON

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:10 am

Movie star JON VOIGHT is still sore about the day JOHN LENNON snubbed a dinner meeting with him - because he never got another chance to meet the Beatle.
The actor had become an overnight success thanks to the film Midnight Cowboy and he was walking down London’s King’s Road when a fan told him Lennon was dining nearby - and he decided it was time for him to meet the singer.
He recalls, "I went to the door of the restaurant and I asked one of the maitre d’s… ‘I don’t wanna bother John, but could you tell him Jon Voight, the actor…, is out here (and) would love to come in and say hello.’ "I was thinking, ‘This will be fun…’ And the maitre d’ comes back and goes, ‘Mr. Lennon doesn’t really want to be bothered…’ "I just made my way back to my little apartment with my girlfriend… I never did meet John; I would have liked to." Voight’s Lennon tale features among Fab Four anecdotes from stars like Graham Nash, Peter Noone, George Martin, Justin Hayward, Art Garfunkel, actor Sir Ben Kingsley and Ray Manzarek in new movie Beatles Stories.

LABOUR DISPUTE OVER TONY AWARDS SETTLED

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:09 am

The 2011 Tony Awards will go ahead in New York without the threat of picketing after show producers and members of a stagehands’ union settled a labour dispute on Friday (10Jun11).
Nominated stars including Al Pacino, Vanessa Redgrave, Ellen Barkin and Edie Falco are all expected to walk the red carpet at Sunday’s (12Jun11) glitzy event at The Beacon Theatre, while performers include Daniel Radcliffe and U2 rockers Bono and The Edge with the Spider-Man musical cast.
Representatives for the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees had vowed to stage a noisy protest outside the venue to demonstrate against the loss of a staffing contract relating to the event, potentially causing a big upset on Broadway’s biggest night of the year.
But the two parties managed to reach an agreement on Friday afternoon, just two days before the red carpet is due to be rolled out, and union workers have now been handed back their contract to staff the venue.
In a joint statement, they say, "Both labour and management are satisfied with the terms and conditions of the agreement, which will not be publicly disclosed.
"The red carpet staging area for this and future Tony Award shows at the Beacon Theater will be staffed by union labour."
