LILY ALLEN is spending a fortune on extra policing at her upcoming wedding as she fears the high-profile nuptials will upset her neighbours.
The Smile hitmaker is due to wed fiance Sam Cooper later this month (Jun11) at a church near her countryside home in south west England.
It recently emerged extra cops will be on hand to ensure the event runs smoothly - and Allen has now revealed she is personally footing the security bill to minimise any disturbances to her fellow residents in the quiet village.
She tells Ahlanlive.com, "Ahh yes, the police shutting down the roads. It’s caused a bit of an uproar at home (U.K.). The village is fine with it, it was just the (British newspaper) Daily Mail readers up in arms saying why are we paying our taxes for her to be protected like the royals. Actually I’m paying a vast amount of money myself, it’s all off-duty police officers who are going to be paid overtime.
"It’s not like we demanded they close the roads down. The only reason I did it was for the residents otherwise there will be a million photographers driving up and down the roads. It’s not really for me."

SIR ELTON JOHN has written a letter to the Governor of Florida in a bid to protect an HIV/AIDS program which helps low-income sufferers of the virus.
The singer is an active supporter of AIDS charities and even runs his own foundation to help victims of the deadly condition.
Sir Elton decided to take action when he heard rumours American politicians at Florida’s Department of Health are considering making cutbacks to the state’s AIDS Drug Assistance Program and changing its income eligibility system, which helps sufferers who don’t have enough money for private treatment.
The Rocket Man and his partner David Furnish have now written to Florida Governor Rick Scott, urging him to help protect the treatment program, according to the Associated Press.

GUNS N’ ROSES frontman AXL ROSE once became embroiled in a nasty bar fight with a fan who sneaked into an aftershow party, according to his bandmate DJ ASHBA.
The guitarist claims the pair became involved in an altercation with a "drunk, obnoxious guy" after the stranger found his way into a private party and hit one of the group’s tour managers. Ashba stepped in and Rose then came to his defence.
He tells Guitar International magazine, "There was a time when me and Axl got in a bar fight. We kicked the livin’ s**t outta this dude. First of all, he snuck into this private aftershow party that was just held for the band and the crew. So it was this drunk, obnoxious guy, big dude… He was asked to leave several times and didn’t. He… punched one of our tour managers. I saw it so I grabbed the guy… I walked him over to the door, and he turned around and punched me in the face… Axl saw him hit me and flipped and jumped in…" But the two rockers later saw the funny side of the incident when the unnamed man subsequently approached them, apologised and asked for autographs.
Ashba adds, "What was funny about it is, about three hours later we get done partying, (we) went up and the guy’s a bloody mess sitting in the lobby. We walk up and he apologises… and then he asks if he can get pictures with us and autographs. So we’re taking pictures with this guy we literally kicked the s**t out of. It was all good; we all laughed about it at the end, he even laughed. He was like ‘Yeah, it was my fault. I was being a total d**k.’ It was one of those things where it was just a funny moment."

British singer JESSIE J has assured fans she is "fine" after a bizarre rumour she had been in a plane crash swept the internet.
Bloggers were sent into a spin on Tuesday (31May11) over speculation that the Price Tag hitmaker was among the victims of an air disaster.
The star spotted the rumour on Twitter.com and immediately took to her own page on the microblogging website to play down the gossip, writing, "No that’s not true. I’m fine."

Barbara Sinatra, who was married to the My Way hitmaker for 22 years, has opened up about her time with the music legend in a new memoir called Lady Blue Eyes: My Life With Frank.
She has now revealed her husband was fanatical about neatness and also harboured some strange hygiene habits - showering many times every day.
She writes, "He was a guy who took about 12 showers a day. I mean, he was neat. He always smelled of lavender."

Two stars of the New York Metropolitan Opera have quit a planned tour of Japan due to fears over raised radiation levels since the March (11) earthquake and tsunami.
Russian soprano Anna Netrebko and tenor Joseph Calleja have bowed out of the company’s shows in the country, which run from 4 to 19 June (11), amid fears about the fallout from a nuclear plant which was damaged in the disaster.
The last-minute withdrawal has left opera bosses scrambling to find replacements.
The news comes just weeks after opera legend Placido Domingo performed in Japan and donated $200,000 (£125,000) to relief efforts.

Heavy rockers SLAYER have postponed the recording of their next album to allow their guitarist more time to recover as he battles a flesh-eating disease.
Jeff Hanneman was forced to pull out of the band’s 2011 tour in February (11) after he was diagnosed with necrotising fasciitis, a rare bacterial virus which attacks skin, fat and body tissue, which he contracted from a spider bite.
Frontman Tom Araya has revealed his pal underwent an operation on his arm and needed skin grafts to correct the damage caused by the disease and is still recovering, telling Billboard, "It’s pretty severe what he’s going through. He’s had skin grafts, and he’s got to rehabilitate his arm and get it back in shape again. It’s going to require a lot of time." Hanneman’s condition means the band will delay the recording of a new album, while Araya is adamant they won’t be working on any new material without him, adding, "There’s no way we’d go into a studio without him. As a band we’re not going to do something without him… We require his musical skills, his writing skills. He’s an integral part of the band. So we’re going to hold off until he’s at 100 per cent and can join that process and be part of it." Hanneman made a surprise appearance with Slayer back in April (11) at a show in California and Araya hopes the gig reminded fans about the guitarist’s plight: "It was a big deal for him to play - for us it was, too,. We thought that would be a nice surprise for everybody and also make everybody aware that he’s still there."

CHELSEA HANDLER was left facing a long trek home for Memorial Day weekend (28-29May11) after her flight to New York was diverted due to heavy fog.
The TV funnywoman was in Las Vegas on Saturday (28May11) for a private gig and flew back to the East Coast that night ahead of party plans on Sunday.
However, Handler was left a long way from her Long Island destination when heavy fog forced her private jet to divert to Teterboro Airport in New Jersey and she had to drive for two and a half hours to reach The Hamptons.
She tells New York Post gossip column Page Six, "I flew in around 5am, and we had to fly into Teterboro because of the fog, so (it took) two and a half hours to drive from Teterboro. But now that I am here and I’ve slept, (I feel better)."

ROSIE HUNTINGTON-WHITELEY has opened up about the body issues she suffered at the start of her modelling career after she was ordered to slim down.
The British beauty began a career in front of the camera as a teenager and went on to land a lucrative contract with the Victoria’s Secret lingerie brand before branching out into acting with a role in the new Transformers movie.
But the slender star, 24, reveals she was asked to lose weight when she joined the industry and she struggled with her bosses’ advice.
She tells Britain’s Elle magazine, "When I started modelling, I was definitely heavier. I was quite voluptuous in fact. I had a real baby face and baby fat. But I was a baby! I was told I had to get into better shape, but I’m quite stubborn so I didn’t. I can’t remember a time where I really battled with my body, but I can remember being asked to lose weight and battling with the advice. It hurt me.
"Especially as my baby fat naturally melted away as I got older… You can (be) bullied as a young model, but there was a point where I found my voice, effectively."

British actor TIM CURRY has been forced to pull out of a theatre production after suffering a series of asthma attacks.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show star landed the role of the Player in a stage adaptation of Tom Stoppard’s Rosencrantz And Guildenstern Are Dead in Chichester, England before it moves to the West End later this month (Jun11).
But he has cancelled his part in the play after suffering a chest infection and several asthma attacks.
A spokesman for the Chichester Festival Theatre says, "For the moment the production will continue with the role of the Player taken by Curry’s understudy, Chris Andrew Mellon, while we consider our longer-term options."

Reality TV star KIM ZOLCIAK has become a mother for the third time.
The blonde gave birth to son Kroy Jagger, her first child with her fiance, Atlanta Falcons footballer Kroy Biermann, on Monday (30May11).
Announcing the happy news on Twitter.com, Zolciak writes, "@biermann71 and I are happy to announce the birth of our son today. Kroy Jagger Biermann is healthy & beautiful. We are so in love!" A representative for PATRICK DEMPSEY has moved swiftly to play down reports he’s set to leave GREY’S ANATOMY, insisting the actor’s comments have been misconstrued.
Dempsey fuelled speculation he will not return to the hit medical drama once the upcoming eighth season ends after telling Vanity Fair magazine, "I do not know what’s going to happen to the other characters, but for me it’s done." But an agent for the star has spoken out to clarify the comments, insisting Dempsey was merely referring to the expiry date of his contract with the show.
The rep says, "He was referring to the fact that his contract is up at the end of next season and we have no idea what the future holds."

Actor RYAN PHILLIPPE is single again after splitting from his girlfriend AMANDA SEYFRIED, according to a U.S. report.

PARIS HILTON halted an interview with PIERS MORGAN to comfort her crying mother KATHY, who burst into tears as the socialite described her infamous sex tape scandal.
A video of The Simple Life star and then-boyfriend Rick Salomon getting intimate in the bedroom hit the web in 2003 and was later released on DVD, entitled One Night In Paris.
Hilton opened up about the ordeal during a joint interview with her mum Kathy on CNN talk show Piers Morgan Tonight, which aired in the U.S. on Tuesday night (31May11).
She says, "I just felt so betrayed. This was not some random guy, this was someone I was with for a few years. I thought I did (love him). I can’t believe that he would do something like that to me.
"It’s something that changed my life forever. This is not what I planned. I didn’t want to be known as that.
"Now when people look at me, they think that I’m something that I’m not, just because of one incident one night with someone who I was in love with. People assume, ‘Oh, she’s a s**t’, just because of one thing that happened to me." Kathy was seen wiping away tears as the TV star continued, "I’ll have to live with that for the rest of my life and explain it to my children. It’s something that’s changed my life forever. I’ll never be able to erase that." Morgan tried to continue his interview, but Hilton switched her attention to Kathy - who was silently weeping at her daughter’s revelations - and gave a her a hug. Morgan then offered to cut to an ad break as a crew member handed Paris a tissue to pass to her mother.
Kathy explains, "It was a very difficult time. We had therapy, and I think that that really helped (deal with the scandal)."

MICHAEL JACKSON’s longtime friend KATHY HILTON collapsed on the floor when she heard the devastating news of his death, before racing across Los Angeles to comfort the pop superstar’s children.
The Thriller legend and Hilton became friends when they were young and remained close throughout adulthood.
Jackson died in 2009 after suffering a cardiac arrest brought on by an overdose of anaesthetic Propofol, and Hilton was once of the first to be informed of the tragedy.
Upon hearing the news, Hilton "fell on the floor", before heading to Jackson’s home to comfort his three children.
After learning Prince, Paris and Blanket had followed their father when he was taken in an ambulance to Los Angeles’ UCLA Medical Center, Hilton went to the facility to be with the star’s family - and say her last goodbyes to her pal.
She tells U.S. chat show host Piers Morgan, "My assistant told me (about Jackson’s death) and I literally fell on the floor. My sister came and picked me up and we went directly to the house as I thought the children would be there.
"Yes (I then went to the hospital). The children and Mrs Jackson and all the brothers and sisters were in this room and just crying and hugging each other and in a daze. This is a father that was so with his children. He’s (been) dedicated since they were born, to raising and being with them.
"LaToya and Randy took me in to say goodbye (to Michael). I think if I hadn’t I would never have quite in my head believed (he was dead) - even though he was a friend, he was such a powerful person.
"No (he was not alive when I saw him). I rubbed his head and his arms and his legs and his feet and I told him I love him so much and I whispered some funny things to him and that was it."

TAKE THAT star MARK OWEN has showed off his generous side by donating tickets for the group’s European tour to a charity auction benefiting children with autism.
The British boyband kicked off their stage show spectacular in Sunderland, England on Friday night (27May11) and Owen has offered up five pairs of VIP tickets to an upcoming concert in London to a fundraiser for the Rainbow School, a facility in the U.K. capital which teaches youngsters with the condition.
Owen, a parton of the school, says, "Last summer I was approached by a friend and neighbour who has a son with autism and she introduced me to a friend of hers, whose son goes to Rainbow School.
"Rainbow School was, unbeknown to me, literally only yards away from my front door and so after taking a tour of the school, meeting the children and its founder… I decided that I’d really like to help in whatever way possible to support these amazing people." The auction launched on eBay.co.uk on Monday (30May11) and the winning bidders will be notified on Friday (03Jun11).
