MCCARTHY WAS BALD FOR PRETTY IN PINK RESHOOTS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:54 am

Actor ANDREW MCCARTHY was bald when he filmed reshoots for iconic 80s movie PRETTY IN PINK - because he had shaved his head for a play.
The movie star, who played Blane McDonnagh in the cult John Hughes film, was convinced the project was over and signed up for a play, in which he had to appear bald.
But test audiences who saw an early version of the film prompted Hughes to reshoot the ending of the movie - because they hated the idea of Molly Ringwald’s character ending up with Blane.
And McCarthy had to don a wig to reshoot the climax of the film.
Speaking to Hughes film class students at the University of Southern California last week (ends29Apr11), Ringwald urged them to go back and watch the end of the movie and pay attention to her co-star’s hair.
According to EW.com she said, "That was a really bad wig."

She tells Britain’s The Guardian, "I really would love to play the Theatre Royal Haymarket, because that is where my mother played. It nearly happened last year, and if that venue could be guaranteed I would come. I only want someone to make the offer."

He adds, "I’m so great at not having anything to do. I think that I am an intrinsically, extremely lazy person. GAGA THRILLED WITH GLEE TRIBUTE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:15 am

LADY GAGA has lavished praise on the stars of TV musical GLEE after they immortalised her music in a special tribute episode.
The pop superstar’s acceptance anthem Born This Way became the theme of the show in an installment broadcast in the U.S. on Tuesday (26Apr11).
The cast all wore t-shirts proclaiming their characters’ insecurities, with Matthew Morrison donning a shirt emblazoned with the phrase "Butt Chin," while Chris Colfer’s gay character proclaims across his chest "Likes Boys".
The storyline drew some criticism from conservative campaigners in the U.S. for its pro-gay themes, but outspoken activist Gaga has given the episode her full backing, writing in a post on her Twitter.com page, "I really loved Glee’s Born This Way episode. I admire the show for being brave + fighting for such modern social messaging. Never back down." Jarrett Barrios, president of Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), has also staunchly defended the TV musical, telling the Hollywood Reporter, "Fair-minded Americans are tuning in by the millions to inclusive shows like Glee… because they don’t care whether someone is straight or gay - what they care about is seeing characters and stories they can relate to. Most Americans today support full equality for their gay and lesbian friends, family and neighbours. That anti-gay critics continue to be out-of-touch with the majority and can’t see that fact is no surprise."

WOOD GLAD FAMILY FORGAVE HIM FOR AFFAIR

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:15 am

British rocker RONNIE WOOD feared he had completely destroyed his relationship with his children when he walked out on his wife JO, and he was grateful when they finally forgave him for his indiscretions.
The Rolling Stones star left his wife of 24 years in 2008 after his affair with a young Russian cocktail waitress hit headlines. Wood moved out of the family home and struck up a relationship with Ekaterina Ivanova, who at 20 years old was younger than all of Wood’s grown-up children.
Wood admits his kids with Jo - Leah and Tyrone - as well as his son Jesse from a previous relationship and Jamie from Jo’s first marriage, struggled to deal with the split and it took a long time for them to mend their relationship with their rock star dad.
He tells Britain’s Daily Mail, "I’ve had my differences with them… I used to worry, ‘I’ve lost my family.’ They hated me for a while, but they’re very resilient. The oldest is 36, the youngest is 28. So they’re all grown and they’ve seen me come through and now they say, ‘OK dad, we love you, we’re on your side’." Wood and Jo finalised their divorce earlier this year (11).

GARLAND’S DAUGHTER PROTESTS PRESCRIPTION DRUGS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:12 am

JUDY GARLAND’s daughter LORNA LUFT is calling for officials in America to clamp down on rogue doctors who feed celebrities’ prescription drug habits amid allegations the practise is still rife in Hollywood.
Garland died in 1969 at the age of 47 after suffering an accidental drug overdose, and Luft fears other stars will face a similar fate to her late mother unless new rules are brought in to crack down on prescriptions.
She tells Britain’s Daily Express, "It makes me sad there’s still a big ‘moth’ syndrome. Some doctors still prescribe drugs to the stars, hoping the limelight will rub off on them. The only way to change it is if somebody is finally prosecuted. We haven’t learned anything in the 40 years (sic) since I lost mom. That to me is shocking."
