Jay-Z was so impressed with what he saw, he posted the clip on his LifeandTimes website and wrote a gushing message about his talented wife.
He writes, "Sometimes you need perspective. You’ve been right in front of greatness so often that you need to step back and see it again for the first time. This is the dressing room rehearsal for American Idol. No microphone. No effects."

SONNY BONO CALLED CHAZ ‘FRED’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:27 pm

Late pop star SONNY BONO had an unusual nickname for his daughter before she grew up and underwent a sex-swap operation - he referred to little Chastity as "Fred".
Chastity underwent a sex change and legally became a guy called Chaz last year (10), and he has now revealed his father, who died in 1998, christened him with a male name early in life.
He tells U.S. TV host Jay Leno, "He called me Fred… We were in Palm Springs (California) one weekend, and there was this toy store that I used to love to go. We were in there looking, I don’t know if it was mugs or key chains - stuff that had people’s name on them…. They never had my name, so my dad said, ‘Pick a name - what do you think of Fred?’ And I apparently really liked it. It stuck for quite some time." Sonny Bono never lived to see Chastity become Chaz - he died in 1998 at the age of 62. He split from Chaz’s mother Cher in 1975.

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:27 pm

Country superstar KENNY CHESNEY paid tribute to the strength of Alabama residents during a concert on Wednesday (25May11) for victims of America’s tornado disasters.

The city of Tuscaloosa was worst hit, with 45 residents losing their lives, and Chesney staged a benefit show there on Wednesday to raise money for aid efforts.
During the gig he sang My Home’s In Alabama for the crowd and was joined by singer-songwriter Mac McAnally for renditions of Back Where I Come From and Down the Road, according to CMT.com.
Chesney says, "I’m so honoured to have played Tuscaloosa… This town has always been incredible to me, and they are really hurting now.
"I didn’t know if we were doing the right thing by doing the show, but after tonight, I am convinced that this town needed something to look forward to, and I am so glad we played tonight."

U2 frontman BONO is adamant his beleaguered SPIDER-MAN musical has been not been axed and is still set to meet its June (11) deadline for opening night.
Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark, which features music written by Bono and his bandmate The Edge, has been beset by numerous problems including onset accidents, safety investigations, spiralling costs and crippling delays.
The musical has been in previews since last year (10) but was recently put on hiatus following the exit of director Julie Taymor and given a major revamp ahead of a 14 June (11) opening.

THOM TRAPPED IN STUDIO AFTER NASHVILLE TORNADO WARNING

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:24 pm

Scottish singer SANDI THOM was trapped in a Nashville, Tennessee recording studio earlier this week (begs23May11) as the city was battered by storms.
Severe weather struck several of America’s southern states, just days after a powerful tornado claimed more than 120 lives and devastated whole neighbourhoods in Joplin, Missouri on Sunday (22May11).
Thom was recording tracks for her next album in a Nashville studio when the storms hit, and she was forced to stay in the building after officials issued a tornado warning for the city.
In a series of posts on her Twitter.com page, she writes, "Just as we left the studio we got caught in the biggest scariest hail storm I’ve ever seen. I stopped the car because it was too dangerous to drive and honestly thought one of those hail stones was going to come through the windscreen.
"Nashville is on tornado warning… we are all held up at the studio. Can’t drive anywhere. Too dangerous."

PULP REFORMED FOLLOWING FRIEND’S DEATH

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:24 pm

British rockers PULP reformed after the death of a close friend brought them back together.
The 1990s Britpop icons announced last year (10) they would be reteaming for a string of shows, and they took to the stage in Toulouse, France on Wednesday (25May11) for the first of their comeback gigs.
Guitarist Mark Webber has now opened up about the group’s decision to reunite, revealing the passing of a mutual friend convinced them to go back to the band.
He tells BBC 6 Music, "I always thought we’d do something together again eventually, but when he died, I realised (we) should maybe grasp that opportunity." Frontman Jarvis Cocker adds, "I think that (the death) had a lot to do with it. You suddenly realise you can’t take things for granted." But Cocker admits he has been feeling nervous ahead of the band’s comeback shows: "I’ve had a few anxiety dreams already. The favourite is usually wandering through a festival, then looking at your watch and realising you should have been on stage 10 minutes ago. I’ve not had the one of being naked on stage yet." Pulp will next perform on Friday (27May11) at the Primavera Sound festival in Spain.

CORDEN TREATED FOR EYE INJURY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:18 pm

JAMES CORDEN’s role in a West End play was thrown into jeopardy this week (begs23May11) when the British actor was admitted to hospital to seek treatment for an eye injury.
The Gavin & Stacey star is currently appearing in a production of One Man, Two Guvnors in London, but on Wednesday (25May11), he suffered blurred vision and headaches during rehearsals for the show.
He sought medical help at a hospital in the U.K. capital and theatre bosses feared they would have to axe Wednesday’s performance after doctors diagnosed Corden with a damaged cornea.
Medics prescribed Corden a strong anaesthetic to numb the pain, and he took to the stage as planned, according to Britain’s Daily Mirror.
A source tells the publication, "James was really worried but, being a man, refused help. Eventually his co-stars persuaded him to get urgent medical attention.
"The pain did little to hinder his performance - and James got a standing ovation."

GREEN LANTERN DIRECTOR OPPOSES 3D RELEASE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:18 pm

GREEN LANTERN director MARTIN CAMPBELL opposed releasing the blockbuster in 3D as he is convinced the effect ruined CLASH OF THE TITANS.
The DC Comics adaption, which stars Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, is set to hit the big screen in 3D next month (Jun11).
The director has applauded James Cameron for his use of the technology in Avatar, but admits he had reservations about using it in his own movie after being unimpressed with 2010’s Titans film.
He tells Total Film magazine, "There was little talk of 3D when we started. It does nothing for me.
"I enjoyed Avatar and I thought it was so beautifully done, but Cameron’s a genius with that stuff. But just go and see Clash Of The Titans and that will give you a headache for a start." Campbell is also convinced that one day audiences will tire of watching 3D movies: "Of all of these post-3D films you do get a sense that they’re cashing in on the ticket price. The problem is that finally the audience will wake up and realise that perhaps the quality of 3D bang for their buck doesn’t work out."

BERGMAN LINKED TO BABY SWAP MYSTERY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:18 pm

Late Swedish moviemaker INGMAR BERGMAN is at the centre of a sensational baby swap story after the legendary director’s niece published allegations he was not related to his parents.
Veronica Ralston claims to have ordered a DNA test to put to rest rumours over the Academy Award winner’s paternity and she alleges the results showed he was not biologically related to his mother Karin or father Erik.
Ralston, who has published her shocking claims in a new book called The Love Child and the Changeling, is convinced Karin Bergman’s baby died during childbirth and another infant was brought up in place of their dead son.
Ralston reveals, "I contacted the (Swedish) board of forensic medicine to see if it was possible to perform a DNA analysis to clarify this. I suggested that they could investigate stamps which Ingmar Bergman had licked and sent on letters and postcards to his parents and compare them with my DNA.
"When my grandmother Karin Bergman gave birth to her son on July 14, 1918, she had been very sick for a long period of time, and it’s possible the baby didn’t survive. I think that… her husband Erik then switched the child with (another) baby." Bergman died in 2007 aged 89.

ALBA’S PREGNANCY WORK OUT IS GRANDMA’S OLD WEIGHTLOSS TRICK

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:45 am

Expectant actress JESSICA ALBA is relying on her grandmother’s pregnancy work out tips to help her regain her slim figure after she gives birth later this year (11).
The Fantastic Four star is preparing to welcome her second child with husband Cash Warren and she recently admitted she’s continuing to exercise to ensure she stays healthy right up until the tot’s arrival.
She told Latina magazine, "I’d like to still do something five days a week, from a half hour to an hour - nothing excessive, just some moving (around). It makes the whole pregnancy so much easier. The more fit you are, the easier the birth is, and a healthier baby you’re going to have." Alba reveals the keep fit regime is a tried and tested one - and she only has to look to her grandma to see how well it works.
She tells People.com, "My grandmother was amazing. She would go home and would put on the clothes that she wore before she got pregnant with all five of her kids. It’s definitely good genetics, but she also worked through all of her pregnancies. Just being on your feet and moving probably helped." Alba is already a mum to daughter Honor, who turns three next month (Jun11), and she can’t wait to have a newborn around the house again: "Aww… They’re little peanuts! They’re just the best. Their smell, and the cuddling! They’re so sweet."
