Rocker BENJI MADDEN struggles to watch TV talent shows because he hates seeing wannabes "hurt" and "shot down" by judging panels.
The Good Charlotte star tuned in to new U.S. series The Voice on Tuesday night (03May11) but admits the programme, which sees Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton pass judgement on singers, makes him "feel bad" for the participants who don’t get approved.
In a series of posts on his Twitter.com page, he writes, "Man I love this show The Voice, but I feel bad when they don’t make it. Damn man. Hurts 2c (to see) people get shot down. Hard 2put (to put) urself (yourself) out there.

IRON MAIDEN’S PLANE TRANSPORTS TOURISTS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:21 pm

An airplane used by IRON MAIDEN on their world tours has been called in to transport holidaymakers from Scotland due to a mechanical problem with another jet.
The band’s customised Boeing 757, which is emblazoned with their logo and the flight number 666, is owned by Astraeus airlines, where frontman Bruce Dickinson is also registered as a pilot.
The jet is used by the airline as a commercial plane when the group isn’t on tour - but staff normally remove the Iron Maiden sign.
But Thomson Airways bosses had to call the vehicle in at the last minute to transport tourists from Edinburgh Airport to destinations in Greece and Turkey after another jet was grounded.
A representative for Astraeus airlines tells The Scotsman, "Normally our planes are always plain white so they can operate for any airline. Iron Maiden have just finished the overseas leg of their world tour and the plane has gone straight into use, as a plane being used by Thomson Airways had some mechanical difficulties and has been taken away for repairs. That’s why we haven’t had a chance to take the logo off." A Thomson Airways rep adds, "It has been quite interesting for them, definitely. It’s a little different to what you normally see on the Tarmac. We will be using it for the next few days on short-haul flights to destinations such as Paphos in Greece, and Dalaman in Turkey."

TYLER SLAMS CELEBRITY REHAB OVER ADLER TREATMENT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:21 pm

Rocker STEVEN TYLER has taken aim at DR. DREW PINSKY and his U.S. reality show CELEBRITY REHAB, insisting the "ghoulish and unreal" series exploited his pal STEVEN ADLER’s weaknesses.
The former Guns N’ Roses drummer was kicked out of the band in 1989 amid rumours his drug use was hampering his performance, and he has long struggled with his addictions.
He was ordered into rehab in 2009 following a 2008 felony drug charge, and his battle to get clean was chronicled on Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew and its spin-off series Sober House.
But Tyler has accused TV bosses of giving Adler cash to "act out his own messed-up state" while he was a patient at a California facility where the show was filmed.
In his new book, Does The Noise In My Head Bother You, Tyler writes, "They wanted him to act out his own messed-up state when he entered rehab. It was ghoulish and unreal. They gave him 30 grand for the episode, he snorted it all, crashed his car, and he ended up in jail detox." And Tyler has also questioned the programme’s credibility, adding: "It didn’t seem to me all that ethical using actual f**ked-up people like Steven Adler in a reality show, but who am I to say? "Not to mention getting trashed celebrities to mime their own self-destructive nosedives which they then sensationalise on a melo-f**king-dramatic reality show, which so traumatises them they end up in worse shape than ever - from the drugs they bought with the money from the show." Adler is set to join Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew for another season later this year (11), alongside stars including Michael Lohan and Jeremy Jackson. The rocker has told fans he wants to ensure he keeps up his recovery and stays "on the right track".

LEONE ‘SCARED’ OF LIVE RETURN

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:18 pm

MADINA LAKE rocker MATTHEW LEONE has returned to the stage less than a year after he was left fighting for his life in a coma - and he admits he was terrified of performing live again.
The bassist was subjected to a savage beating in Chicago, Illinois in June last year (10) after intervening in a domestic dispute between two strangers.
He made a remarkable recovery after undergoing brain surgery following the attack, and he wowed fans by returning to the stage at the band’s gig in their hometown of Chicago last month (23Apr11).
Leone tells Kerrang! magazine, "I was really scared. By the time we started with Never Take Us Alive, everything came back to me and felt normal. All that fear just disappeared and the energy of the fans carried me along the whole way." Frontman Nathan Leone - Matthew’s twin brother - adds, "We wanted to do this show so badly so we could be Madina again… We’re all so proud of him."

LEE BURGLED DURING TV APPEARANCE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:18 pm

Australian comedian ANDY LEE’s house was burgled while he was on television the morning after the Logie Awards.
The TV personality appeared at the prizegiving ceremony, which honours the best in Australian television, on Sunday night (01May11).
He then appeared on Australia’s Today Show the following morning, along with his comedy partner Hamish Blake, and returned home to find his music equipment had been stolen.
And he’s convinced he was targeted because the thieves knew he wasn’t at the property as they could see him on the small screen.
Taking to his Facebook.com page, Lee writes, "House was robbed this morn! Smart thief, probably saw Ham & I in bath robes on Today & realised we were in no state to fight crime today! Thieves took 2 guitars and a pedal board but I’ve added a few things for the insurance claim… Like the Mona Lisa and Justin Beiber (sic)."

JOLIE REPLACED BY WINSLET FOR LUXURY BRAND

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:39 pm

Oscar winner KATE WINSLET is the new spokesmodel for upscale brand St. John, replacing ANGELINA JOLIE and JACK WHITE’s wife KAREN ELSON.
The Tomb Raider star was dropped by the designer line last year (10) after starring in its ad campaigns for more than five years, with redheaded singer Elson taking her place.
But now Elson is out of the picture, too - and Titanic star Winslet is slipping into her shoes.
The British beauty’s appointment has come as a surprise to fashion insiders since top executive Glenn McMahon admitted last year (10) that Jolie was dropped because she "overshadowed" the brand.
He added, "We wanted to make a clean break from actresses and steer away from blondes and cleanse the palette." Winslet posed for a campaign shot by photographer Craig McDean last week (ends01May11) and will appear in St. John advertisements later this year (10).

The former Spice Girls star, who has two daughters from previous relationships, is expecting her first child with Belafonte this summer (11).
The couple is already preparing for the new arrival and Brown’s imminent hospital stay - but the star is worried her husband won’t cope during her labour.
She tells Britain’s new! magazine, "Will he be my birthing partner? Oh God, no, he’s going to be horrendous. I mentioned to him that we’re going to pack our overnight bag and he went white. I instantly had a flash forward that he’s going to be all over the place."

CLAFLIN DITCHED SOCCER HOPES FOR ACTING

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:36 pm

Rookie actor SAM CLAFLIN is still stunned he was chosen to replace ORLANDO BLOOM in the next PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN movie - because he always dreamed of a career as a soccer player.
The Brit was a keen footballer in his youth and planned to sign up for English Premier League club Norwich City, but his sporting career was cut short when he suffered a broken ankle.
Claflin’s mother suggested he tried his hand at acting instead and he won roles in several minor British TV shows - and less than two years later he’s been plucked from obscurity to star as Johnny Depp’s new sidekick in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.
Claflin tells Empire magazine, "I realised I was too weak to play football at an adult level. As I was a drama queen on the pitch, my mum said, ‘You should try acting on stage.’… The biggest challenge (on the Pirates of the Caribbean set) has been staying focused. You have to pinch yourself, say, ‘I am working… but look at that cave!’" Bloom quit the swashbuckling franchise after 2007’s Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End to concentrate on more theatre work.

STUMP REFUSES TO CELEBRATE BIN LADEN DEATH

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:30 pm

FALL OUT BOY rocker PATRICK STUMP was stunned by footage of Americans rejoicing after terrorist leader OSAMA BIN LADEN was shot, because he would never "party" after someone’s death - no matter how evil the person had been.
The singer was in London to embark on a European solo trek when news broke that the U.S. military in Pakistan had killed bin Laden, the mastermind behind the 9/11 attacks, at the weekend (30Apr11-01May11).
Stump admits he was surprised to see relieved patriots in his homeland waving flags to mark the event and admits he found the news footage "unsettling".
He tells WENN, "The thing that is hard for me as an American is that… obviously it’s a symbolic victory for the War on Terror but at the end of the day, I don’t think it’s ever cool to celebrate anyone’s death. I just don’t believe in that.
"Not to say that I don’t think he was a bad guy - I think he was a bad guy, he did a lot of terrible things. He killed not only Americans, he killed people all over the world, he killed people of all different religions.
"He was a bad guy but I’m not going to jump up and down and party because some guy died - that’s not cool. It’s unsettling because I can say that I’m glad that he won’t order more killings but that’s about it. I’m not glad that a person got shot."
