GAGA EATS LETTERMAN’S SCRIPT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:24 pm

LADY GAGA shocked U.S. TV viewers during an appearance on DAVID LETTERMAN’s talk show this week (beg23May11) by snatching the host’s script and eating in front of him.
The pop superstar appeared on the Late Show on Monday night (23May11) to promote her new album, Born This Way, and she talked to the presenter about her wacky stage antics.
Letterman grilled Gaga about the egg prop she has used to make an entrance at events, asking her, "Tell me about the egg. How much time do you spend in it? Oh, is it tough to get insurance?" She replied, "Well, no, because for me, it’s a place where I can meditate and experience rebirth. So I just get inside of it and close it and then when I feel that I have been reborn spiritually, I just, whoo, come out." He went on to quiz her about whether she once ate a "Barbie doll’s head" on stage, and the singer insisted she does it "all the time" before grabbing Letterman’s production notes, ripping the script into pieces and stuffing it in her mouth. She chewed on the paper in front of the shocked host and later spat it out behind her chair.

SNIDER THANKS AUTHORITIES AFTER BROTHER-IN-LAW COURT CASE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:24 pm

TWISTED SISTER frontman DEE SNIDER has released an emotional family statement thanking authorities for their help following the conclusion of the trial of a man accused of murdering the rocker’s brother-in-law.
Vincent Gargiulo, the brother of Snider’s wife Suzette, was gunned down in New York City in 2003. His business partner Christian Tarantino, 42, was accused of the killing, but after a trial in Manhattan, a jury failed to reach a verdict on Monday (23May11).
He will be retried in August (11). Tarantino was convicted of other charges relating to two killings connected to an armed robbery in 1994.
After the court proceedings, Snider released a statement on behalf of his family praising local authorities for their hard work in bringing the case to court.
The statement reads, "We are grateful to finally have some kind of legal closure to these crimes, but that does not change the fact we have lost a son, a brother, an uncle and most of all a beloved friend.
"Vinny believed Chris Tarantino to be a bad person who needed to be stopped; so much so he gave his life to do just that.
"We would like to thank all the federal, state and local authorities who worked so tirelessly these past six years… Their commitment to gaining a measure of justice for the victims in this case was inspiring. Vinny, we all love you and miss you."

SLIPKNOT drummer JOEY JORDISON has paid tribute to PAUL GRAY in an open letter addressed to his late bandmate a year after the bassist’s tragic death.
The 38-year-old musician was found dead in an Iowa hotel room on 24 May, 2010 and his passing was blamed on an accidental drugs overdose.

He writes, "Hey Paul, It was so great hanging out with you yesterday and today. Talking and reminiscing about old times and seeing you respond with some of the strongest gusts of wind I’ve ever felt… There was no one like you. That’s why you were my best friend… I miss you each and every day." Jordison goes on to thank the band’s fans for their support throughout the hard times, adding, "I just wanted to take a moment to thank you eternally for your support on this difficult day. You’re keeping us and Paul’s memory alive.
"There were supposed to be five days of tornadoes and rain here in Iowa, but the sun came out stronger than it has all year. It’s good to know Paul’s keeping an eye on things.
"This is a horrible thing that happened, but each of you has made this just a little bit easier to deal with. Your support means everything to us."

TWO INJURED IN THE HOBBIT SET EXPLOSION

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:18 pm

Two crew members working on THE HOBBIT have been taken to hospital after an explosion at the New Zealand studio where the movie is filming.
Emergency services were called to the Stone St Studios in Miramar on Tuesday morning after a blast in one of the workshops where technicians were working on a statue prop.
Two men suffered minor burns and were transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.
The Hobbit unit publicist Ceris Price tells the New Zealand Herald, "A couple of the guys… (were left with) mild burns but nothing serious… One of them had some burnt nostril hairs and, apparently if that’s the case, there is always the risk of inhalation so they get checked out." Officials at New Zealand’s Department of Labour have carried out an investigation into the incident and no further action is expected.
The two-part Lord of the Rings prequel, which stars Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins, has been beset by numerous problems as movie bosses attempted to push the project into production.
Financial problems at the MGM studio behind the film led to severe delays and the exit of director Guillermo Del Toro. He was replaced by producer Peter Jackson, who had to face down threats from acting unions in a dispute over pay and conditions, and the project was further delayed this year (11) to allow Jackson time to recover from surgery to treat a perforated ulcer.
