PITT ALWAYS WANTED BIG FAMILY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:27 pm

BRAD PITT had no qualms about becoming a dad to six kids in the space of three years - because he always dreamed of having a chaotic family life.
The Hollywood actor embarked on a romance with Angelina Jolie in 2005 and by 2008, the stars were parents to three biological and three adopted children.
Pitt says, "I know it seems extreme from the outside, but I’ve always kind of operated this way. When I know, I know, and why mess around? "I had a friend who had a big family when I was a kid. I just loved the chaos around the breakfast table and the fighting and the ribbing, and the mom making pancakes for everyone or the dad making pancakes. And I just decided then if I was ever going to do it - this left some indelible mark on me - if I was ever going to do it, that’s the way I was going to do it."

MCGEE DENIES OASIS MEETING WAS SET UP

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:24 pm

Former music mogul ALAN MCGEE has denied his legendary chance discovery of British band OASIS was set up by record industry bosses, insisting the rumour is "rubbish".
McGee was head of independent label Creation Records in 1993 when he watched a short gig by the Wonderwall hitmakers after arriving early for another band’s concert in his native Scotland.
Legend has it McGee was so impressed he immediately told Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher he wanted to sign them on the spot - and they went on to become the biggest British group of the last 20 years, selling 50 million albums worldwide.
Recent rumours have suggested the "chance" meeting was actually set up in advance by bosses at the Sony record label - but McGee is adamant the random encounter with the unsigned band is true.
He tells rock magazine NME, "You’re believing rubbish! Of course I was there! Ask Noel Gallagher! I’ve heard this story once before - someone connected to The Libertines said that Sony gave them to me. As if Sony would give me a band that sold 50 million records to put out so I could get all the money! Life’s not that nice! People don’t actually want to give you credit. I’ve heard that I didn’t find Oasis, I didn’t do this, I didn’t do that. How many things didn’t I f**king do?" And Gallagher has backed up his former mentor’s version of events, adding: "Lots of people still don’t want to believe that story, (but) the first time I ever met (McGee) was at (that gig)."

MCGRAW SUED BY RECORD LABEL BOSSES

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:21 pm

Country star TIM MCGRAW has been sued by bosses at his record label for breach of contract.
Curb Records executives claim the singer handed over master recordings for his latest offering, Emotional Traffic, too closely to the completion of 2009’s Southern Voice and, as a result, the songs were not "topical and new".
McGraw stands accused of using a "transparent tactic to attempt to fulfil his contractual recording commitment to Curb prematurely in breach of the recording agreement", according to a lawsuit obtained by Billboard.com.
McGraw’s contract allegedly stipulates that he must only record albums "no earlier than 12 months and no later than 18 months" after delivering his previous album.
But the Grammy winner, who has been with the firm since the start of his career, is adamant Emotional Traffic fulfils his contractual obligation with the label.
A statement from McGraw’s camp reads: "Sadly, after a 20-year relationship which has provided unprecedented success for both parties, Curb Records has chosen to end its accord with Tim McGraw by filing suit against him. Tim McGraw delivered his new album, Emotional Traffic, to Curb in the fall of 2010.
"The label is holding the album hostage from country music fans in an attempt to force Tim McGraw to serve perpetually under a contract that he has already fully and faithfully completed."

PLAN B ‘HOLDING UP THE SWEENEY’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:21 pm

British rapper/actor PLAN B is delaying filming on the big screen adaptation of hit British cop show THE SWEENEY, because he’s so busy with his music career.
The star, real name Ben Ballance-Drew, will play Detective Sergeant George Carter in the film opposite Ray Winstone’s Detective Inspector Jack Regan - characters first played by Dennis Waterman and the late John Thaw on U.K. TV in the 1970s.
Due to touring the U.S. with fellow Brit Adele and trying to juggle numerous projects, Ballance-Drew admits he’s been forcing the movie to fall behind schedule.
He tells the BBC, "As soon as I’ve finished touring in America with Adele I’m going to finish my film, finish my next album and start work on The Sweeney in November. I’m kind of holding it up." But the star insists he would never rush any of his ventures, because he’s too much of a perfectionist.
He adds, "It’s so important that I get the things I need to get finished completed and to the right quality. I could rush it out and say it’s finished but I can’t stand doing that. If I’m going to be 100 per cent up there (on stage) my mind has to be on that."

HAGMAN: ‘J.R. SHOT CEAUSESCU!’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:18 pm

DALLAS star LARRY HAGMAN has revealed the show had a huge effect on international politics - he’s convinced it was responsible for revolution in Romania and the death of former leader NICOLAE CEAUSESCU.
The actor played scheming oil baron J.R. Ewing in the legendary programme, which chronicled the glamorous life of a wealthy Texan family and the corrupt double-dealing of its business empire.
The show became a massive hit around the world, attracting global audiences of more than 100 million before ending its 13-year run in 1991.
During its peak in the mid-1980s, Romanian President Ceausescu agreed to allow the show to be broadcast in the then-Communist country in a bid to show his citizens the decadence of democratic nations - but Hagman is convinced the plan backfired and led to a revolution and Ceausescu’s eventual execution.
He tells Australian newspaper the Fairfield City Champion, "Romania put on Dallas to try and show how corrupt the American system was and it ended up with them lining up Ceausescu, who was the dictator, and shooting him 500 times - they wanted all that stuff they didn’t even know was out there.
"He let that show in to show how decadent we were and they said, ‘Yeah, we want some of it.’"

SNOOP DOGG EYES REALITY TV SERIES

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:27 pm

Rapper SNOOP DOGG is planning to branch into TV to shoot a reality series showcasing talent from "the ‘hood".
The hip-hop star wants to give a platform to talented musicians living in tough areas across the U.S. and hopes his series would rival British mogul Simon Cowell’s star-maker competitions.
He says, "The American Idol and X Factor shows, they’re great shows. But I think I need to make a show like that, that’s straight directed to the ‘hood. To the artists that don’t get that attention, that don’t have the money to make themselves representable. This raw talent and ability.
"I’m looking for a deal from one of you TV networks to give Snoop Dogg his own ‘hood TV show where I can find America’s hottest ‘hood artists."

PRODUCER STICKS BY SCHWARZENEGGER DESPITE SCANDAL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:24 pm

The producer behind ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER’s big screen comeback insists he will stand by the actor following his recent lovechild scandal.
Earlier this month (May11) the action man-turned-politician confirmed he had split from his wife of 25 years, Maria Shriver.
It then emerged Shriver had left Schwarzenegger after he confessed to having fathered a lovechild with a former assistant at their home more than a decade ago.
But despite the controversy surrounding the star, bosses on his new movie Cry Macho are adamant the scandal won’t make a difference to filming.
Producer Albert Ruddy tells The Hollywood Reporter, "We’re shooting August 24; we’re in serious pre-production now. It hasn’t affected our sales. It’s going to be interesting if we get even a bump on the foreign side. This is not gonna be a black eye for a guy with an astounding career.
"This is just another one of those things no one will remember. Bill Clinton went through horrendous things, and now he’s regarded as one of the most popular presidents… The only thing that matters is how good the film is. If it fails, they’ll say it’s because of the scandal. If it succeeds, they’ll say in spite of it. It doesn’t matter. The film talks for itself."

The Porcelain hitmaker is a committed vegan and has often spoken out to improve the treatment of animals around the world.
And he took time out from his current European tour to film a new public service announcement for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, blasting the "industrial" production of animals for food.
He says, "Industrial animal production destroys everything it touches. It destroys the animals, it destroys the workers, it destroys the communities, and it destroys the people who consume the animal products… Unfortunately, the people who produce meat, the people who produce dairy, and the people who produce eggs - they’re lying to you. So do what you can, educate yourself, know where your food comes from, and then make the ethical choice."
