TEGAN AND SARA STAR BLASTS ‘REPULSIVE’ ODD FUTURE FRONTMAN

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:15 pm

Canadian pop/rock star SARA QUIN has lashed out at rising ODD FUTURE rapper TYLER, THE CREATOR in an open letter to the media, calling on music journalists to stop praising him as a "genius" because his lyrics are "repulsive and irresponsible".
Tyler, The Creator released his latest solo album, Goblin, to a slew of positive reviews last week (ends13May11), but the violent content of the 20 year old’s songs and tracks by his band Odd Future have also drawn controversy, with rhymes about rape and murder and the frequent use of homophobic slurs.
The acclaim lavished on the hip-hop newcomer has outraged Tegan and Sara singer Quin and the gay star has taken to the duo’s website to publicly urge reporters to condemn Tyler’s "sickening" and "hateful message".
She writes, "As journalists and colleagues defend, excuse and congratulate Tyler, The Creator, I find it impossible not to comment. In any other industry would I be expected to tolerate, overlook and find deeper meaning in this kid’s sickening rhetoric? Why should I care about this music or its ‘brilliance’ when the message is so repulsive and irresponsible? "No genre is without its controversial and offensive characters - I’m not naive. I’ve asked myself a thousand times why this is pushing me over the edge… Maybe it’s because I’m a human being, both a girl and a lesbian. Maybe it’s because my mum has spent her whole adult life working with teenage girls who were victims of sexual assault. Maybe it’s because in this case I don’t think race or class actually has anything to do with his hateful message but has EVERYTHING to do with why everyone refuses to admonish him for that message." But the Odd Future frontman has brushed off Quin’s angry letter on his Twitter.com blog, responding, "If Tegan and Sara need some hard d**k, hit me up!"

MORRISON WOULD ‘NEVER’ BE A TV TALENT SHOW JUDGE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:12 pm

GLEE star MATTHEW MORRISON would never consider sitting on the panel of a TV talent show - because he’d hate to judge wannabe stars trying to break into the entertainment industry.
Morrison forged a stellar career on the Broadway stage and in small TV roles before making it big as teacher Will Schuester on the hit musical series.
But despite his own successes, the star insists he’s not hardened to rejection and wouldn’t feel right killing youngsters’ dreams.
He tells Britain’s Heat magazine, "Never. I’m not a judge. It’s something I’ve never even thought about or aspired to be. Not that there’s anything wrong with it, and I’m sure I would probably be a decent judge, but I want to perform. I feel weird judging people, too, because in this business I get judged a lot, so I wouldn’t want to be on the other side. Who am I to judge?"

In a statement issued to the Los Angeles Times, he says, "After leaving the governor’s office I told my wife about this event, which occurred over a decade ago. I understand and deserve the feelings of anger and disappointment among my friends and family.
"There are no excuses and I take full responsibility for the hurt I have caused. I have apologized to Maria, my children and my family. I am truly sorry. I ask that the media respect my wife and children through this extremely difficult time. While I deserve your attention and criticism, my family does not." OSMOND DISAGREES WITH GAGA’S SHOCK TACTICS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:27 am

DONNY OSMOND has criticised LADY GAGA’s shock tactics, branding her headline-grabbing stunts a "cheap way" of finding fame and selling records.
The Osmonds star previously slammed Gaga for her 2010 music video Telephone, which he claimed featured "profanity, sexual exploitation, nudity, and graphic violence".
Osmond maintains the Poker Face star is "very talented" but insists he doesn’t approve of her outlandish outifts and stage antics.
Speaking on CNN’s Piers Morgan Tonight he says, "First of all just let me make the statement: I think Lady Gaga is brilliant as a marketer, as a writer, as an artist - she is Madonna incarnated in my opinion. But I don’t agree with a lot of the shock elements nowadays a lot of artists take to get their face on the cover, to get on the charts.
"In my opinion it is a cheap way to become popular, but I do think she’s a very talented woman."

OSMOND’S SON INSPIRED REUNION WITH EX-HUSBAND

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:27 am

MARIE OSMOND has thanked her son for reuniting her with first husband STEPHEN CRAIG after he encouraged his parents to get back in contact.
The singer wed former basketball player Craig for a second time in an intimate ceremony in Las Vegas on 4 May (11). The pair divorced in 1985 after three years as husband and wife.
Now Osmond has opened up about the reconciliation, revealing she re-ignited the romance after her 28-year-old son, Stephen Jr., asked Craig to help her move into a new house in Sin City.
But she decided to keep their reunion a secret, fearing it would be too upsetting for her family if the relationship failed again.
Osmond tells CNN host Piers Morgan, "Really it was my son (who brought us together). I was moving here (to Las Vegas) and he said, ‘Dad, mom needs help moving.’ We’ve always kind of known each other and been amicable and friendly, but it wasn’t until about two years ago that we thought well, let’s give this a shot.
"We didn’t really want anybody to know we were dating because if it didn’t work out that hurts children. I was really set on being single." Meanwhile, Marie’s brother Donny insists he’s overjoyed for his sister: "It’s a Cinderella story with a lot of bumps in the road with a beautiful ending. I thought it was fantastic. I’ve always had this familiar relationship with Steve, I’ve always loved the guy. It hurt me for my sister to fall apart the way they did… When I saw them come together again, it was just a great moment."

London rapper DIZZEE RASCAL is going on hiatus until at least 2012 in a bid to "recharge his batteries" after a stellar couple of years.
The Bonkers hitmaker rose to fame in his native Britain after releasing his debut Boy In Da Corner in 2003, which was followed up by three more albums, including his latest chart-topping offering, 2009’s Tongue N’ Cheek.
But Rascal, real name Dylan Mills, has announced he’s set to take time off to enjoy his personal life.
He tells Britain’s Daily Star, "There won’t be a new album from me for a while, until at least next year. I hope that doesn’t upset fans who wanted to hear something from me by the end of 2011. But it feels like I’ve released albums almost back-to-back since Boy In Da Corner.
"I want to live life for a bit, kick back, see things, do other things and recharge my batteries. I’m always writing lyrics but as for recording it, that’s on the back burner for now.
