MOTLEY CRUE rocker NIKKI SIXX cleared the way for a joint tour with POISON by apologising to BRET MICHAELS for derogatory comments they made about the idea.
Poison frontman Michaels first suggested hitting the road with Motley Crue, but the concept was dismissed and scoffed at by some members of the rival rock group.
The two bands later stunned fans by announcing the joint tour and scheduling the dates for this summer (11), and Michaels admits the plan was put into action after Crue star Sixx approached him and apologised for their previous remarks.
Michaels tells The Arizona Republic, "There was a lot of controversy between Motley Crue and Poison, just some comments they had made about how ‘We’re not gonna do that kind of tour’. I had said something on stage, like ‘Wouldn’t it be awesome if for Poison’s 25th Anniversary and Motley Crue’s 30th, for there to be a tour we did together?’ And a couple of the members of their band made some pretty derogatory comments.
"I just said, ‘The hell with it. I’m gonna do my own tour.’ Then, Nikki (Sixx) said, ‘I’m really sorry about some of the comments some of the members made. I really want to do this’. So I think it’s gonna be a great tour."

U2 frontman BONO has met with the president of Mexico to discuss poverty and drug-related crime in the country.
The Irish rocker has been in the country with the band’s 360 Degree tour, and celebrated his 51st birthday in Mexico City on Tuesday (10May11). He performed with the band on Wednesday (11May11) and then met with President Felipe Calderon on Thursday (12May11).
The outspoken activist visited the presidential residence Los Pinos and talked with the country’s leader about the problems facing the nation, as well as global warming. Calderon reportedly thanked Bono for talking about Mexico’s drug violence on stage at the band’s show on Wednesday and congratulated him on his birthday, according to the Associated Press.

Rapper GUCCI MANE is to be released from prison by the end of June (11), his publicist has confirmed.
The troubled hip-hop star, real name Radric Davis, was detained last month (Apr11) after a warrant was issued for his arrest over allegations he pushed a woman out of a moving vehicle.
Prosecutors filed counts of misdemeanour battery, reckless conduct and disorderly conduct relating to the alleged incident and he was held in custody as the arrest constituted a violation of his probation stemming from a 2005 assault conviction.
Mane was expected to be handed a hefty 17-month jail sentence for the violation, but on Monday (09May11) Mane appeared in court in Fulton County, Georgia and was told he will be released by the end of next month (Jun11), when his probation will also finish.
His representative tells MTV News, "Gucci, appeared in a Fulton County courtroom on Monday afternoon and in less than an hour, our attorney Mark Issa prevailed. Gucci will not only be released in 45 days, but will also end his probation by the last days of June upon his release from jail.
"Gucci looks forward to getting back into the studio and on with his life. Gucci thanks all his fans for the overwhelming love and support they have given."

LADY GAGA has blamed her hectic work schedule for her "miserably pathetic" love life because she doesn’t have time to date.
The Poker Face pop star is single again after splitting from her longtime boyfriend, heavy metal drummer Luc Carl, and admits she is struggling to move on following the break-up.
Gaga has taped a interview for Britain’s The Graham Norton Show and she appeared on the set wearing an elaborate wedding dress, complete with veil and a tiara, as she opened up about her disappointing love life.
She tells the host, "Iâ��m miserably pathetic in my wedding dress. I havenâ��t been on any dates recently because I have been working so hard and I get very bored very quickly with men…" She subsequently lightened the mood by joking, "I guess they would get freaked out by this wedding dress." A portrait of late screen icon DAME ELIZABETH TAYLOR by famed artist ANDY WARHOL has sold for nearly $27 million (£16.9 million).
The colourful picture, titled Liz #5, was one of a number of pieces created by Warhol in celebration of the Hollywood star, and it generated massive interest when it hit the auction block in New York on Thursday (12May11).
The 1963 silkscreen sold for a staggering $26,962,500 (£16,851,563), surpassing the previous total for another of Warhol’s Taylor prints, 1963’s Liz, which sold for $23 million (£14.4 million) in 2007.
Taylor died of congestive heart failure in March (11).

MICHAEL KEATON hated his time filming BATMAN in London as his personal life was falling apart and he found himself all alone in a "dank, dark, cold place".
The actor took on the role of the superhero in Tim Burton’s 1989 movie and he jetted to the British capital to shoot the picture at the famous Pinewood Studios.
Keaton admits he loathed the location and was constantly miserable during filming because he had separated from his wife Caroline McWilliams and was desperate to spend time with his young son, Sean.
He suffered from insomnia and rarely socialised with other people as his problems seemed to intensify during the "difficult" shoot.
He tells the Los Angeles Times, "It was a lonely time for me, which was great for the character, I suppose. I would run at night in London just trying to get tired enough so I could sleep. I didn�t talk to people much. My little boy was a toddler, and the woman I was married to at the time, we were not together but we were trying to figure it out and get back together.
"It was me in London, alone, and my sleep during that whole movie was never right. As often as I could, I was getting on the Concorde and trying to get back to spend some time with my kid.
â��It was an extremely difficult undertaking… and there was so much pressure. We were in England for a long time shooting at Pinewood and it was long, difficult nights in that dank, dark, cold place, and we never knew if it was really working."

JOHN HANNAH feels desperately sorry for his former SPARTACUS: BLOOD AND SAND co-star ANDY WHITFIELD because the actor was "on the verge of stardom" when he was struck down with cancer.
Whitfield played the title role in the gladiator-themed TV show, but was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma last year (10) resulting in a delay in production on the second series.
Producers turned their attentions to a prequel, Spartacus: Gods of the Arena, to allow Whitfield time to recover, but the cancer returned and he was forced to pull of out season two. He was replaced by Liam McIntyre.
Hannah, who plays Spartacus’ master in the series, admits he was devastated to hear Whitfield’s bad news and hopes he will bounce back once he recovers.
He tells Scotland’s Daily Record, "Andy has to focus on his recovery. I feel for him because he was on the verge of stardom. But I’m sure he’ll be back."

JUSTIN BIEBER has vowed to meet a young girl who lost her father in the 9/11 terrorist attacks after she wrote to U.S. President BARACK OBAMA asking whether he could arrange a visit from the pop star.
Payton Wall, 14, whose dad died in the 2001 attack on New York’s World Trade Center, first wrote a letter to the teenage singer asking whether he would make her dream come true.
When she received no response, she called on the country’s leader in a bid to make the meeting happen - she received a letter from the White House and an invitation to a ceremony at Ground Zero in Manhattan marking the death of terrorist leader Osama Bin Laden earlier this month (May11).
The teenager met Obama, who reportedly promised her he would help put her in touch with Bieber.
Editors at New York Magazine subsequently ran the story and cast doubt on whether Obama would have the power to arrange a Bieber meeting, and the article prompted the singer to respond publicly in a message through Twitter.
He writes, "I think you’re wrong. pretty sure President Barack Obama will keep this promise. Pay it forward." But Wall’s mother, Diane, isn’t convinced the promise will be kept and hopes her daughter isn’t too disappointed, telling the New York Daily News, "It would be nice if she gets to meet Justin Bieber. We donâ��t know much about it right now. I donâ��t want to get her hopes up. I need to talk to my daughter about it.â��

ALICIA KEYS is auctioning off a number of her personal belongings after selling her New York mansion.
The No One hitmaker moved into a new Manhattan penthouse apartment with her husband Swizz Beatz last year (10) and put her Long Island property on the market. She was forced to slash the price of the sprawling estate after it failed to sell - but has now offloaded the house.
Keys has seized the opportunity to de-clutter her belongings - and is selling off everything from a trampoline to fitness equipment, furniture, her doll collection and a pool table, reports TMZ.com.
The sale will be held by American Auctions on 22 May (11).

The newly-launched YouTube 100 calculates the popularity of the top 100 music videos, both amateur and professional, across the site and officials published the first countdown on Thursday (12May11).

The mother of a man who died at a party attended by PETE DOHERTY has tearfully told of her disappointment after an investigation into the case was dropped, and she has urged the rocker to talk about what happened.
Mark Blanco, 30, passed away in 2006 after plunging from the balcony of an apartment in east London. The tragedy occurred shortly after he was ejected from the event following a confrontation with The Libertines frontman.
A police investigation initially concluded the death was not suspicious, but Blanco’s relatives demanded the case be re-opened late last year (10).
Prosecutors in Britain ruled on Thursday (12May11) there is insufficient evidence to bring any criminal charges in relation to Blanco’s death, and his mother Sheila admits she is deeply upset by the decision as she is desperate to find out what happened to her son.
She tells Britain’s Daily Mirror, "There are three men who know what happened. Perhaps if Doherty could come forward and say what really happened it would help. I am very disappointed." Doherty’s bodyguard Johnny ‘Headlock’ Jeannevol, and party host Paul Roundhill are also said to have been present during the confrontation with Blanco.
His relatives have previously suggested they may pursue a private prosecution if criminal charges are not filed.

French dance music star DAVID GUETTA is so keen to work with ADELE, he has already written a song for the British soul singer.
The producer and DJ has previously teamed up with stars including the Black Eyed Peas, Jennifer Lopez and Rihanna - and there is only one other artist he wants to head into the studio with.

Rocker FRANCIS ROSSI and his STATUS QUO bandmates felt compelled to re-record IN THE ARMY NOW for their upcoming album as a tribute to Britain’s armed forces.
The track was the title of their 1986 album, and Rossi was keen to reconnect with the song after meeting several injured soldiers.
He tells Britain’s Daily Mirror, "We met guys who’d had their arms and legs blown off. That did me in.
"You see these people trying to be philosophical about what has happened to them but how philosophical can you be when you’ve had your legs blown off? So anything we can do, we do." The song will feature on Status Quo’s new album Quid Pro Quo, which is released later this month (May11).

Stars of the country music world came together in Tennessee on Thursday night (12May11) for a concert to raise money for victims of the natural disasters which have devastated southern states in the U.S. in recent weeks.
Hank Williams, Jr. opened the show at the Music Builds: The CMT Disaster Relief Concert, held at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tennessee to raise money for the Red Cross.
The night saw performances from stars including Tim McGraw, Keith Urban, Ronnie Dunn and Trace Adkins, while video messages were played from Nicole Kidman, Taylor Swift, Shania Twain, Carrie Underwood, Courteney Cox, Jennifer Lopez and U.S. President Barack Obama.
More than 300 people were killed when tornadoes recently ripped through the region and many communities across the south are struggling to rebuild.
Alabama frontman Randy Owen spoke about his own personal experience of the tragedy, revealing 34 people died in the band’s hometown of DeKalb County in the state which gave the group its name.
Owen told the crowd, "These were people that we knew and friends of ours," before dedicating their song My Home’s In Alabama to residents of the battered state.
Proceeds from the concert benefit the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund and the total raised at the show will be announced at the upcoming CMT Music Awards on 8 June (11), according to the Associated Press.

Teen actress SAOIRSE RONAN learned to love the punishing exercise regime for new movie HANNA after spending two hours every day in the gym for the high-action role.
The Lovely Bones star plays a trainee assassin in the thriller and she underwent months of tough training prior to shooting the film.
Ronan admits the active work was hard to begin with, but she slowly adapted to her new lifestyle - and eventually felt the benefit of her new-found exercise program.
She tells Britain’s OK! TV, "I started to train a couple of months before we began shooting. I did a couple of weeks of training in L.A. with the stunt co-ordinator and that was really helpful for both of us, especially him as he was able to design a very specific fighting style and I could then go back to Ireland and work on it.
"I was working out in the gym for about two hours every day. For the first few days it was tough, because it’s the gym and I had never been in the gym before, but then after that it was fine and I actually enjoyed pushing myself and being pushed. That made me feel a little bit more capable."

ZSA ZSA GABOR’s husband PRINCE FREDERICK VON ANHALT has slashed the price of her Beverly Hills mansion by $12 million (£7.5 million) in a bid to sell the property quickly.
The veteran star has been in and out of hospital since she broke her hip in a fall at her home last summer (10) and she was back under doctors’ care in Los Angeles earlier this month (04May11) after showing pneumonia-like symptoms.
