DUPRI’S HOME SAVED FROM FORECLOSURE AUCTION
Rapper/producer JERMAINE DUPRI has avoided foreclosure on his Atlanta, Georgia home moments before it was due to go up for auction.
The hip-hop star reportedly failed to keep up with repayments on a bank loan amounting to more than $2.5 million (£1.56 million) and the mansion was expected to go under the hammer at a courthouse last month (Apr11).
But the sale was cancelled at the last minute, suggesting Dupri had worked out a deal to keep the house.
Lawyers handling the foreclosure have refused to explain why the auction was axed.
The property problem is not Dupri’s only financial issue - he is accused of owing almost $500,000 (£312,500) in back taxes on income earned in 2007.
