British singer ADELE is struggling to stay teetotal as she celebrates her success - her band always convinces her to toast her achievements with alcohol.
The Chasing Pavements hitmaker gave up booze in 2008 but took up drinking again to help her write her second album, 21.
She quit alcohol for a second time after confessing she hated not remembering her drunken antics - but after 21 topped the charts in dozens of countries earlier this year (11), Adele decided to celebrate with a drink.
She tells Britain’s The Sun, "When I work, I don’t drink. But touring is different. On the road as news was coming through about us going to number one in different places the band would all say, ‘Come on, Adele, have a celebration drink with us’.
"What was I meant to do, sit in my dressing room on my own with a mineral water?"

WEEZER frontman RIVERS CUOMO has been ordered to wear a night guard by a dentist in a bid to stop him grinding his teeth while asleep.
The rocker went for a check-up at a dental practice and was told he grinds his molars together at night, and he’ll have to wear the uncomfortable mouth piece to prevent the habit.
Taking to his Twitter.com page the musician writes, "I have to wear a night guard now cuz my dentist tells me I grind my teeth."

A teenager from Sydney, Australia has been arrested and charged after allegedly pelting JUSTIN BIEBER with eggs during a gig.
The Baby hitmaker was performing at the city’s Acer Arena on Friday night (29Apr11) when an unknown assailant threw a number of eggs at him from the roof during a dance routine.
Bieber narrowly avoided being hit as two messy missiles smashed as his feet, while another four splattered across the front of the stage.
On Thursday morning (05May11) a 17 year old was arrested at his home in Sydney after allegedly clambering onto the roof of the venue and dropping the eggs on to the stage.
He was taken to Waverley Police Station, where he was charged with breaking and entering, trespass and malicious damage.
The teenager has been released on conditional bail and is due to appear at Parramatta Children’s Court on 2 June (11).

Model-turned-actress ROSIE HUNTINGTON-WHITELEY has been voted the world’s sexiest woman by readers of Britain’s FHM magazine.
Just days after she topped Maxim’s 11th annual Hot 100 list, the blonde beauty has seen off competition from Katy Perry to land the top spot in FHM’s poll.
The I Kissed a Girl hitmaker came second, while her pop star pal Rihanna was voted third. Megan Fox, who Huntington-Whiteley has replaced in the upcoming Transformers movie, bagged fourth place, while House star Olivia Wilde rounded out the top five.
Huntington-Whiteley says, "I’m so flattered to be FHM’s Sexiest Woman in the World. This is a really exciting year for me."

A publicist for DAVID HASSELHOFF’s ex-wife has slammed ZSA ZSA GABOR’s husband PRINCE FREDERIC VON ANHALT after he suggested she had offered to be the surrogate for his child.
Von Anhalt has stunned the ailing actress’ family and friends by revealing he’s eager to become a father at the age of 67.
He explained his bizarre plans last month (Apr11), saying, "It was always my wife’s dream for us to have a child… and even though we won’t be using any of her eggs, she would be thrilled to know I’m going through with this." He was snapped shaking hands with Baywatch star Hasselhoff’s former partner Pamela Bach in Los Angeles on Monday (02May11), and reportedly told TMZ.com that the pair had discussed Bach acting as a surrogate.
However, a representative for the blonde has blasted the claims, telling the website, "We refuse to acknowledge the delusional ramblings of this man who clearly has done nothing more than plant a fictional tale in a desperate attempt for attention.
"Our sympathy to Ms. Gabor who is an innocent victim of his shenanigans." Von Anhalt’s claims come on the day his seriously ill, 94-year-old wife was rushed to hospital with pneumonia-related symptoms, which left her with fluid on the lungs.

ROB LOWE messed up a potential romance with SARAH JESSICA PARKER when he took his girlfriend along with him for their first date.
The oblivious actor had no idea the meeting between the two young stars was supposed to be a blind date and still considers what might have been.
He recalls, "(Our agents) arranged a meeting just so we could sort of get to know one another and I stupidly brought my girlfriend because I didn’t realise it was potentially, maybe a matchmaking thing." The former The West Wing star admits he and Parker have become friends over the years and they still laugh about their first meeting.
And the actress recently scolded him when he wrote about their failed blind date in his new memoir - because he got her eye colour wrong.

Talent show tycoon SIMON COWELL is laughing all the way to the bank after jumping above SIR ELTON JOHN and SIR MICK JAGGER in the rich stakes, according to Britain’s Sunday Times Rich List.
The music mogul, famed for his judging roles on American Idol and The X Factor, rose from 11th place to number six on the newspaper’s 2011 music millionaires countdown thanks to his staggering $320 million (£200 million) fortune.
His wealth, which has increased by $56 million (£35 million) since 2010, takes him above rock legends John and Jagger, who are in seventh and eighth place on the list, with estimated bank balances of $312 million (£195 million) and $304 million (£190 million) respectively.
Sitting atop the list is Clive Calder, who sold Zomba Records in 2002 and has more than $2 billion in the bank.
Others in the money include Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber ($1.8 billion), Sir Cameron Mackintosh ($1.1 billion), Sir Paul McCartney ($792 million/£495 million), Simon Fuller ($600 million/£375 million), Sting ($288 million/£180 million) and Keith Richards ($280 million/£175 million).
But they have some competition from a set of modern money makers in the music industry - Welsh opera star Katherine Jenkins is sitting pretty with a $20 million (£13 million) fortune, followed closely by Cheryl Cole, Leona Lewis and Katie Melua who all have $19 million (£12 million). Joss Stone, Charlotte Church, Craig David, Paolo Nutini, Adele, Lily Allen, Natasha Bedingfield, Duffy and Amy Winehouse all have approximate fortunes of between $14 million (£9 million) and $9 million (£6 million).

GARY BARLOW admits he’s struggling to get used to having ROBBIE WILLIAMS back in TAKE THAT - because each member had carved out an individual role before his much-hyped return.
The band reunited with the Angels hitmaker last year (10) for the first time since he walked out on the group in its 1995 heyday.
The group, now with Williams, is gearing up to embark on a summer (11) tour of Europe as a five-piece, and has been in the studio writing new material.
But Barlow admits it’s hard to get used to having Williams working with the band again - because there is too much talent competing in the same room.
He tells Britain’s The Sun, "The band is different with Robbie. We work in a different way. What we have now is too much talent in the room.
"When Take That are a four, Mark (Owen) and myself are the leading songwriters. Jay (Jason Orange) joins in on the lyrics and Howard (Donald) starts with the melodies.
"Now you add Robbie and he and Mark are doing the same job - and I can do what they do too. You have three people writing. It’s a jigsaw."

CAMERON DIAZ is baffled by the fuss surrounding her upcoming movie with ex-boyfriend JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE, insisting she can’t understand the "mentality" of people who don’t get on with their former lovers.
The Charlie’s Angels beauty dated the pop star-turned-actor from 2003 to 2006, and they remained pals after breaking up.
After it was announced they would star opposite each other in new comedy Bad Teacher, gossip went in to a spin over how the former couple could work together in such close proximity.
But Diaz insists she hates living in the past and has no issues working with her ex-partner - because they only want "happiness" for one another and know how to have fun on screen.
She tells Britain’s Elle magazine, "Life is long. Why would you ever live in the past when you can live in the present, and allow the future to be bright and happy and exciting? There’s no reason.
"I think people’s mentality is, ‘It didn’t work out!’ But, like, what didn’t work out? What’s supposed to happen? I think a lot of people are married to people that they’re not romantic with any more. I just didn’t ever marry anybody that I then had to get divorced from. We break up. We move on.
"All I want for him is his happiness. And all he wants is my happiness. His isn’t reliant on me, and mine isn’t on him. It was at one point; we had that moment, but now… let’s make a movie. Let’s go have some fun. We’re good at being funny together. We know how to do that. That’s easy."

A producer who worked on LADY GAGA’s BORN THIS WAY track has slammed suggestions the track is a rip-off of MADONNA’s EXPRESS YOURSELF, insisting most modern songs sound familiar.
The Poker Face sensation came under fire following the release of the lead track of her second album earlier this year (11) after critics and fans pointed out the song’s tune is almost identical to that of the Material Girl’s classic.
However, DJ White Shadow, who helped produce the track, is convinced many songs currently in the charts sound like old tunes - and insists it is the kooky pop star who is the real victim of copycats.
He says, "I think it was bulls**t to be honest. I guess there are a hundred songs that you could put a pitch shift and a BPM (beats per minute) change on and loop and make them sound like anything. Actually there are five songs out that are exactly the same song, on the radio at the same time. Right now. Why doesn’t anyone ever bring that up? That’s a f**king felony.
"How many people have been copying Gaga since she came out? Oh, I have that answer: everyone. Have you seen all the lightning bolts painted on faces, or the one hand eye cover-ups during photos? "How about the fact that there was barely any dance music on the radio until Just Dance came out? Come on motherf**kers, let’s keep it real here. If we are going to talk about who is chasing who, I think we all know the answer to that." Gaga herself has vehemently denied she plagiarised Madonna’s song.

Soul sensation ADELE refuses to give her voice a rest when she turns 23 on Thursday (05May11) - the singer is hosting a karaoke party to celebrate her birthday.
The Brit has enjoyed a stellar 2011 so far, with her second album, 21, staying at the top of the U.S. charts for six weeks and leading the U.K. countdown for 11 weeks .
Adele will celebrate her success with a blowout birthday bash, but has no plans to stop singing during the festivities.
She says, "I’m having a karaoke party. I’ll be singing R. Kelly’s Ignition. I’ve been learning my harmonies all day."

Bosses at the BBC have decided to close down filming on DR WHO spin-off THE SARAH JANE ADVENTURES following the death of the series’ star ELISABETH SLADEN last month (Apr11).
The actress, who played the sidekick of Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker’s time-travelling doctors for a decade, passed away at the age of 63 following a battle with cancer.
She had starred in her own series for the broadcaster’s children’s channel CBBC since 2007, and rumours suggested the show would carry on without the beloved actress.
However executives have chosen to end the programme as a mark of respect.
A statement from the BBC says, "Contrary to press reports today we can confirm that no new episodes of The Sarah Jane Adventures will be filmed following the tragic death of actress Elisabeth Sladen in April, 2011.
"As a tribute to Elisabeth, the six episodes that were recorded with her last year will be broadcast on CBBC at a date to be confirmed."

Funnyman DAVID SPADE is getting serious about the tornadoes which devastated parts of the midwestern and southern states of America last week (ends29Apr11) - he’s donating $200,000 (£125,000) to aid the clean-up operation.
The Joe Dirt star has handed over the cash to the American Red Cross for disaster relief.
He says, "With the devastating disasters the tornadoes and floods are causing I wanted to help the Red Cross in their efforts to provide help as quickly as possible.
"I also hope this will help to shine the spotlight on the people of the United States who are in desperate need right now and that others will join me in donating what they can to support the American Red Cross’ huge disaster relief effort." A statement from the Red Cross reads, "The American Red Cross is extremely grateful for this generous support from David Spade who, over the years, has selflessly donated his time, talent, and money to assist those in need." The organisation has revealed Spade, who is an American Red Cross National Cabinet member, donated $50,000 (£31,250) to disaster relief efforts in Kentucky and Tennessee last July (10).
