FORTENSKY REVEALS TAYLOR MARRIAGE STRUGGLES

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:09 am

Former construction worker LARRY FORTENSKY has opened up about the struggles he faced in his marriage to DAME ELIZABETH TAYLOR as his humble background left him feeling intimidated by the superstar’s wealth and fame.
The Hollywood legend, who died last month (Mar11), met the building site labourer while they were both in rehab at the Betty Ford Clinic in California. They married in 1991 and spent five years as husband and wife before divorcing in 1996.
Fortensky kept up his job during the early days of their romance and he now reveals Taylor insisted on sending him a chef-prepared lunch in a limo, much to the amusement of his co-workers.
He tells Britain’s Mail on Sunday, "It was so embarrassing. The guys would rib me about it. I’d tell her not to but she kept on doing it." Fortensky also struggled to buy his wife presents and as she gifted him with cars and motorcycles, he attempted to buy her affordable but entertaining items: "I knew I couldn’t compete with Elizabeth so I didn’t try. When she gave me the (Harley Davidson) bike I gave her chocolate-covered roses. Another year I bought her a baby lop-eared bunny which she loved. When we went to England for her birthday I bought her a Shih-tzu called Sugar. She loved that dog." He admits the marriage began to falter after he give up his job as he was never able to get used to the attention that came with marrying a famous actress. He adds, "Everywhere we went there were cameras. Elizabeth would put lipstick on constantly because she said she never knew when she was being photographed. I found it hard. It wasn’t my cup of tea, those cameras everywhere. Elizabeth was used to it. I never got used to it." But Fortensky still holds fond memories of their time together, including days when they would go for long rides on his motorcycle in California and escape her fame for a few hours: "She would wear a helmet and no one knew who she was. We could be alone and free… People would pretend not to know who she was. Elizabeth loved that. She loved a burger and a beer. She was down-to-earth, or at least as much as she could be for someone who’d been a star since she was a kid."

ONLY FOOLS & HORSES STARS PAY TRIBUTE TO SULLIVAN

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:09 am

The stars of beloved British sitcom ONLY FOOLS AND HORSES have paid tribute to the show’s creator JOHN SULLIVAN following his tragic death on Saturday (23Apr11).
The 64-year-old writer passed away at a private hospital in Surrey, England, six weeks after he was admitted to treat a bout of viral pneumonia. He is survived by his wife, Sharron, as well as two sons and a daughter.
Only Fools and Horses star Sir David Jason, who played Derek ‘Del Boy’ Trotter, admitted he was "totally devastated to hear of dear John’s death", adding in a statement, "We have lost the country’s greatest comedy writer, but he leaves us a great legacy, the gift of laughter. My thoughts at this time are with his lovely family." John Challis, who starred as Boycie in both Only Fools and Horses and spin-off series The Green Green Grass, tells British radio station BBC 5 Live, "It was a terrible shock for us… because it’s the 30th anniversary of Only Fools and Horses, and John has been part of our lives all that time.
"It’s been an absolute joy and privilege trying to interpret the writing which not only made you laugh but also made you cry. And he could look at everybody’s experiences, even the most tragic experience in people’s lives - and still make you smile at them, and make you think things aren’t so bad. It’s a great loss." And Roger Lloyd-Pack, who played Trigger in the classic comedy, adds, "He was a craftsman and those lines didn’t just fall out. He chiseled them and honed them. And they were very particular."

LOHAN HEADING TO JAIL FOR PROBATION VIOLATION

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:57 am

LINDSAY LOHAN has been sentenced to 120 days in jail for violating her probation.
The Mean Girls star, who is on probation for a 2007 DUI charge, is facing trial over allegations she stole a necklace from California jewellery store Kamofie & Co. in January (11). She was subsequently charged with felony theft.
Lohan appeared in a Los Angeles court for a preliminary hearing on Friday (22Apr11), when Judge Stephanie Sautner reduced the count to a misdemeanour.
However, she decided the accusation amounted to a parole violation and ordered Lohan to serve 120 days behind bars.
The actress was remanded in custody for booking immediately after the ruling and will check into Lynwood Correctional Facility late on Friday.
But Lohan is not expected to spend the whole night in jail - her lawyer, Shawn Holley, is planning to appeal the case and the star is expected to post bail soon after she is processed.
Lohan has also been ordered to complete 480 hours of community service, split between a women’s shelter and the Los Angeles County morgue, according to TMZ.com.
Friday’s hearing also saw potential witnesses, including police detectives and jewellery store owner Sofia Kaman, give testimonies.
Deputy District Attorney Danette Meyers presented surveillance footage from the store on the day of the alleged crime and argued Lohan appeared to intentionally take the necklace, using her friend Patrick as a distraction.
Judge Sautner agreed after viewing the footage for the first time, saying, "I see the intent here. I see a level of brazenness with, ‘Let me see what I can get away with here.’" Holley filed a motion for complete dismissal of the case, but the request was rejected.
Lohan will return to court on 11 May (11) for a pretrial hearing and the trial will kick off on 3 June (11).

She says, "I was riding two horses bareback, one foot on one horse and one on the other - it’s called Roman riding, and it’s nearly impossible. And of course they cut it out of the movie.
"I did it and they filmed it and they shot it and they left it (out) because it wasn’t that attractive… It was terrifying."

WILL.I.AM IS OVER THE HUMP

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:48 am

WILL.I.AM no longer enjoys performing the BLACK EYED PEAS’ hit MY HUMPS live because he can’t stand the song’s lyrics.
The hip-hop group scored a hit in 2005 with the catchy track, but rapper will.i.am admits he quickly grew tired of playing the saucy song at concerts.
He tells MTV.com, "Before… it was like, ‘We know we gotta play (hit songs) Pump It and Let’s Get It Started. We used to do Let’s Get It Started at the end, because that was our big finale, which didn’t really make sense. And for a while, (we did) My Humps and then it got to the point where we didn’t want to play My Humps no more. You know, ’cause ‘I met a girl down at the disco’ - I just didn’t want to say that no more, lyrically. It wasn’t like my best lyrically.
"But it was fun. It wasn’t lyrical miracles, but the beat was rocking, so we throw the beat in there and just let the beat linger." Now the star admits his favourite song to play is the band’s 2009 hit I Gotta Feeling.
He adds, "When we perform it, in my mind, I’m like, ‘Where did that song come from?’ I can’t believe this is us, and look at all these people singing it like it’s theirs."

MICHAELS TO REPLACE SEINFELD IN TRUMP’S GOLF TOURNAMENT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:45 am

Rocker BRET MICHAELS has stepped in to replace comedian JERRY SEINFELD after the comic upset DONALD TRUMP by pulling out of his son’s charity golf tournament.
Trump blasted Seinfeld after the funnyman dropped out of the upcoming benefit The Eric Trump Foundation, over the tycoon’s ongoing questions about President Barack Obama’s citizenship.
The real estate tycoon, who is considering a possible presidential run, fired off an angry letter to Seinfeld on Wednesday (20Apr11), telling him he ought to be "ashamed" for withdrawing from the gala, benefiting the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Seinfeld’s spot has been filled by Poison singer Michaels, who won Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice TV challenge in 2010.
Michaels says, "Donald Trump and his family have been wonderful to me, and St Jude’s Children’s Hospital is one of my favourite charities, so I’m honoured to have been asked by Eric and the rest of the Trump family to be a part of this event and help raise money for such an admirable cause." And commenting on Seinfeld’s decision to pull out of the event, the rocker adds, "We should never allow the spirit of generosity to be overshadowed by divisive political beliefs."

X-MEN STAR TURNS TO PHOTOGRAPHY AFTER PORTRAYING KEVIN CARTER ON FILM

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:42 am

Actor TAYLOR KITSCH has been inspired to take photography seriously after portraying renowned combat snapper KEVIN CARTER in hard-hitting new movie THE BANG BANG CLUB.
Kitsch admits playing the risk-taking South African photographer gave him a deep appreciation of the art and now he’s hoping to exhibit the shots he took on set.
The X-Men Origins: Wolverine star says, "I definitely got caught up with it all. I don’t think I’m that good yet, maybe farther down the road. I still have the camera I used to shoot the photos in the film.
"There’s a scene where a guy is throwing a Molotov cocktail (bomb) at one of the trucks, so I was taking real photos there and I blew those up and have them on my wall at home with the recreation of the cover of the book The Life and Death of Kevin Carter.
"Hopefully we’ll see the photos in an exhibit or I can put a photography book together." Carter lost his battle with depression and committed suicide in 1994, aged 33.
Kitsch hopes his new film, which also stars Ryan Phillippe, will honour the work of war photographers and combat photojournalists, like Carter and Brit Tim Hetherington, who was killed by a bomb blast while filming the ongoing unrest in Libya on Wednesday (20Apr11).
The actor adds, "I think it’s a great time for this film. It just makes it that much more relevant. Any attention you can bring to these cats, what they sacrificed, is good. We all take for granted what these guys do out there and what they put out every day.
"It (filming) was pretty much a wake-up call for me because we can all be quite selfish sometimes and these guys are risking their lives. The camera is really their gun and their way of making a difference. You never hear about the journalist that rescued someone or did something to prevent something worse from happening… It’s a sacrifice that these photographers are making to expose this."
