Movie veteran DEBBIE REYNOLDS has blasted pal ZSA ZSA GABOR’s husband for staging publicity stunts as his wife fights for her life.
The Singin’ in the Rain star has taken aim at Prince Frederic von Anhalt in her weekly column for U.S. publication the Globe, calling his recent announcement that he plans to have a baby via a surrogate "unbelievable".
Reynolds writes, "Just when you think Prince Frederick has run out of tricks, her comes up with another one.
"This idea is ludicrous. Zsa Zsa already has a daughter who loves her. Having a baby around the house is beyond bizarre.
"Zsa Zsa has been through so much (and) she isn’t able to fight his wacky publicity stunts… She still deserves some privacy and peace." Gabor, 94, has been fighting to live since falling at her Bel Air home last year (10) and breaking her hip.
In January (11) she had part of her leg amputated to stop the spread of gangrene.

Rocker JOHNNY MARR has joined his former THE SMITHS bandmate MORRISSEY by tearing into Britain’s royal family just days ahead of PRINCE WILLIAM’s wedding.
Morrissey sparked controversy on Wednesday (27Apr11) after describing the U.K.’s monarchy as pointless and "benefit scroungers", and now guitarist Marr has added to his former songwriting partner’s remarks by taking aim at Queen Elizabeth II.
Marr tells NME magazine, "I have a few problems with the monarchy - from serious to less serious. One of them is why does she have to deal with her subjects with such a sour face? Surely her life can’t be that hard! As one of her subjects, whatever that means, I can’t think of too many examples of overt empathy and compassion - they just don’t come to mind.
"A lot of things go on in this country, and she ain’t no Dalai Lama, you know what I mean? At some point, you either go, well, arrogance, therapy or Prozac - take your pick." Asked if he’d accept any award in Queen Elizabeth II’s annual Birthday Honours List, he replied: "F**k no!" It’s not the first time the two rockers have made their feelings about the royal family known - The Smiths’ 1986 album The Queen Is Dead contained several anti-monarchy jibes.

Hundreds of patriotic Brits are already camped outside Westminster Abbey in London to get the best view of PRINCE WILLIAM and KATE MIDDLETON’s wedding - two days before the nuptials on Friday (29Apr11).
Royal-watchers descended on London on Wednesday (27Apr11) to claim a prized spot outside the wedding venue 48 hours ahead of the hotly-anticipated event.
Other fans of the monarchy are already lining the route due to be taken by the newlyweds when they travel from Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace in a traditional open-top carriage following the ceremony.

Soccer superstar DAVID BECKHAM is struggling to control his excitement ahead of Britain’s royal wedding on Friday (29Apr11), insisting the U.K. "needs" the pomp and ceremony of the occasion.
Los Angeles Galaxy player Beckham and his singer-turned-fashion designer wife Victoria are on the guestlist for Prince William and Kate Middleton’s nuptials at London’s Westminster Abbey.
And the sportsman is honoured to be among the congregation, because he was brought up in a fiercely pro-monarchy family in England.
In a video posted on his Facebook.com page, titled "Looking forward to the Royal Wedding this Friday", Beckham says, "I think, you know, a royal wedding - it’s amazing. It really is amazing. Our country needs it, our country wants it. The British public love the royal family.
"I was brought up around the royal family and around loving the royal family with my grandad, my nan. You know, I took my nan and grandad to Buckingham Palace when I got my OBE and they were so proud and it means so much to them. My grandad served his country and they were so proud of that… And to see there is going to be (a royal wedding) now - it’s fantastic."

Australian actor HUGH JACKMAN still regrets turning down the lead male role in CHICAGO because he’s convinced he could have pulled off the part - with the help of some studio make-up.
The X-Men Origins: Wolverine star was offered the role of Billy Flynn in the 2002 movie musical opposite Catherine Zeta-Jones and Renee Zellweger.
However, Richard Gere was drafted in after Jackman snubbed the offer because he was convinced he was too young to play the part convincingly.
The film went on to win six Academy Awards and nine years later, Jackman still kicks himself over the decision.
He tells Britain’s OK! magazine, "I turned down the movie Chicago because I was too young for the part, which Richard Gere played. I’d always wanted to do a movie musical and this one came along relatively early in my career but I thought I was too young as there was one line when he said: ‘I’ve seen it all, kid,’ and I was about 30 so I thought, how am I going to sell that line, it didn’t make sense to me.
"A year later it went on to win all the Oscars and I remember thinking that perhaps a little bit of make-up could have worked!"

JENNIFER HUDSON is keen to return to her reality TV roots with a role on SIMON COWELL’s upcoming U.S. show THE X FACTOR.
The Spotlight hitmaker found fame after appearing on the music mogul’s series American Idol in 2004. Despite finishing in seventh place in the singing contest, Hudson has gone on to release two hit albums and has won an Academy Award and Golden Globe for her film debut in Dreamgirls.
And Hudson is eager to share her advice for making it big with hopefuls on the upcoming U.S. version of Cowell’s hit British TV programme The X Factor.
She tells Digital Spy, "I would like to make a cameo rather than be a permanent judge. I was once in those people’s shoes, and unlike Simon, I’d find it hard to tell people the truth! "To be there and give some encouragement as a one-off would be nice. I want to see what Simon’s got up his sleeve for this show, and how it’s going to compete with American Idol. I guess we’ll be finding out soon enough!" Music mogul Antonio ‘L.A.’ Reid has been confirmed for The X Factor judging panel, while Mariah Carey will also be a part of the show. Jessica Simpson, Nicole Scherzinger and Cheryl Cole have also been linked to roles in the series, which is due to launch in America in September (11).

Welsh musician CERYS MATTHEWS has a stomach-churning piece of rock memorabilia - recording studio equipment covered in ELVIS PRESLEY’s saliva.
The former Catatonia frontwoman owns a section of wood panelling from a studio in Nashville, Tennessee, where The King recorded some of his biggest hits.
And she insists the artifact - a ‘gobo’ which was placed near Presley’s mouth when he laid down vocals - is one of her most prized possessions.
Matthews tells Britain’s Telegraph magazine, "I have a piece of a gobo from the RCA studio in Nashville where Elvis Presley recorded. It is covered in Elvis’ spit. A gobo is a panel about seven or eight feet tall, sometimes with a window in it, which acts as a sound barrier in a recording studio. It separates the noise of different musicians, and prevents too much spillage down the microphones."

British singer KATE NASH hopes to make her mark in the business world - she’s launched her own record label.
The Foundations hitmaker set up a trust fund to promote the arts after receiving her first royalties cheque, and she’s now turned the organisation into Have 10p Records.
Her label’s first release was the debut single by Brigitte Aphrodite - and Nash is hoping to sign more acts in the future.
She tells NME magazine, "I suddenly had some extra money and I wanted to give something back to the arts. I always felt very passionate about it, so I set up a trust fund to promote the arts…
"Then I started watching Brigitte Aphrodite, who’s a really amazing musician… So I asked my accountant: ‘If I rolled the trust fund into a record label, would that work?’ And he said yeah. So I did it. Have 10p Records was the result, and we’ve just put out Brigitte’s first single."

Rock legend ALICE COOPER is to perform a concert in London as a hologram - while he’s more than 5,000 miles away in the U.S.
The School’s Out hitmaker wants to combine cutting edge technology with his love of the macabre to create a ghostly presence of himself and his band at the gig in May (11).
The rockers will play tracks live in Hollywood and their images will be beamed to London where they will be turned into holograms for fans attending the show, dubbed Britain’s first holographic 4D rock gig.
Cooper says, "We couldn’t resist this. It’s the ultimate experience, a cutting-edge conjuring trick that celebrates the future and our history. We can’t wait to see the results!"

ROGER DALTREY is to tour THE WHO’s famous rock opera TOMMY - with PETE TOWNSHEND’s brother standing in on guitar.
Singer Daltrey performed the My Generation hitmakers’ seminal 1969 album in its entirety at a charity gig in London last month (Mar11).
Now he has announced he’s taking the show on the road in July (11) - and he’ll be keeping the spirit of the original tracks alive by enlisting The Who guitarist Townshend’s younger brother Simon as part of his backing band.
Pete Townshend says, "I will be there in spirit and Roger has my complete and most loving support."

EVA MENDES is adamant she’ll never walk down the aisle - because married life is "boring".
The Hitch actress has been dating filmmaker George Augusto since 2002, but the pair has never taken the next step to make the union official.
And Mendes insists the tradition of marriage is no longer relevant.
She says, "I just don’t think marriage is necessary, as necessary as society makes it. And I don’t have a negative point of view on it. I just think it’s a very old tradition and if you look back to what marriage symbolises in the first place… it has nothing to do with why we get married today.
"I don’t know if I want children, but the idea of marriage sounds very boring to me. I have to be honest… I am extremely romantic but I think there is that little rebel inside me that is anti-establishment. It’s just one more fun thing I can rebel against."

FAST & FURIOUS 5: RIO HEIST has raced to the top of the U.K. box office chart, holding off competition from RUSSELL BRAND’s ARTHUR remake.
The fifth film in the action car franchise, starring Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Vin Diesel, took $8.5 million (£5.3 million) in its opening weekend, making it the largest three-day opening of 2011 so far.
The movie cruised passed animated movie Rio, which held firm at number two with $1.4 million (£886,669) in takings, while Arthur showed disappointing sales in third spot with $1.2 million (£764,468).
Meanwhile another sequel, Scream 4, dropped from top spot into fourth and Vanessa Hudgens’ Beastly debuted at number five.

Veteran British actress BRENDA BLETHYN has revealed she’s a married woman - after an engagement lasting 35 years.
The Secrets & Lies star wed art director Michael Mayhew in a low-key ceremony at a registry office in south London in June last year (10).
She spoke about the surprise nuptials during an interview on U.K. TV show This Morning on Wednesday (27Apr11), and told of her relief after so many years as an unmarried couple.
Blethyn says, "(It was) last June. After a 35-year engagement! It just seemed the time was right. Michael decided to leave the National Theatre and it just seemed right. We had a quiet wedding in Peckham registry office, and Michael took it so seriously. His chin started to quiver as we were taking our vows. I was in hysterics.
"It does actually feel different. I can’t put my finger on what it is. It’s kind of like a continual cuddle. I can’t explain it." Mayhew is Blethyn’s second husband - she wed Alan Blethyn in 1964 but their marriage ended in 1973.

Actor RANDY QUAID is reportedly in talks to support fellow troubled star CHARLIE SHEEN when the latter takes his one-man show to Vancouver, British Columbia next week (02May11).
The Brokeback Mountain star, who fled America for Canada with his wife amid a legal tussle last year (10), performed with his lawyer John Shewfelt’s band The Fugitives at the Rio Theater in his adopted Vancouver on Friday night (22Mar11) and he may repeat the show at the city’s Rogers Arena when Sheen arrives with his Torpedo of Truth tour, according to CNN.com.
Quaid performed three self-penned songs, including Star Whackers and Mr. D.A. Man, during his sold out show at the Rio on Friday, which was part of a screening of his wife Evi’s arthouse film, also called Star Whackers.
The film and the song detail the couple’s claims that their recent legal problems in California and Texas were brought about by people trying to destroy them.
Quaid called them "star whackers" outside an immigration hearing last year (10).

Rocker STEVIE NICKS has become an unlikely fan of the TWILIGHT franchise after identifying with the heartache suffered by KRISTEN STEWART’s lonely character in the vampire movies.
The Fleetwood Mac star admits she has been hooked on the film adaptations of Stephenie Meyer’s hit books ever since she saw 2009’s The Twilight Saga: New Moon, and she feels an affinity with Bella Swan over her romance with vampire Edward Cullen, played by Robert Pattinson.

Hindu leaders have urged MILEY CYRUS to turn her upcoming Gypsy Heart tour into a crusade to shed light on the plight of travellers throughout Europe.
The Climb singer hits the road in South America for the first dates of her world trek later this week (beg25Apr11) and religious leaders in America are asking her not to waste the opportunity of joining the likes of Madonna and urge Europeans to stop discriminating against Roma gypsies.
Hindu statesman Rajan Zed tells WENN, "We’d like her to use the tour to spread awareness about the apartheid faced by about 15 million European gypsies." Zed has been joined by Jewish leader Rabbi Jonathan B. Freirich, who adds, "Cyrus had stated that Gypsy Heart is not just a tour for her, but a mission to spread love." Zed says, "It is a good opportunity to show her love for gypsy brothers and sisters who are facing almost total societal exclusion and undeserved maltreatment in Europe.
"We would hope that Miley Cyrus won’t stay an apathetic and silent spectator when gypsies are facing blatant injustice and discrimination in Europe.
"The alarming condition of gypsies is a social blight for Europe and the rest of the world as they regularly face social exclusion, racism, substandard education, hostility, joblessness, rampant illness, inadequate housing, lower life expectancy, unrest, living on desperate margins, language barriers, stereotypes, mistrust, rights violations, discrimination, marginalisation, appalling living conditions, prejudice, human rights abuse, racist slogans on Internet and unusually high unemployment rates." PJ HARVEY is contemplating a major art show featuring paintings from years and years of perfecting her hobby.
The rocker dreamed of becoming a painter before her music career took off - and she takes to the canvas whenever she can to relax.
She tells Spin magazine, "I get a lot of satisfaction out of painting, but I don’t think I’m a great artist, so I wouldn’t want to do an exhibition just yet, with all guns blazing.
"I wanted to become a painter originally. When I released Dry, I thought it would sell at best a few hundred copies, and then I’d return to my art, but I got lucky. Right now it’s merely an extension of my writing.
"Perhaps one day I will show it, but I’ll wait until the time feels right."
