BLUNT: ‘I WAS JOKING ABOUT PLAYING THE ORGAN AT ROYAL WEDDING’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:21 pm

British singer JAMES BLUNT has assured fans he’s not performing at next week’s (29Apr11) royal wedding, confessing he was joking when he told multiple interviewers he’d be playing the organ on the big day.
Many failed to spot the joke when the You’re Beautiful star talked about his preparations for a royal performance at Westminster Abbey and when his North American tour included a day off on 29 April (11), fans felt sure he was being serious.
Blunt has now spoken out to clear up reports he’ll be the wedding organist, telling Billboard.com, "Like every English or British musician being asked one silly question too often, I gave a silly answer - and then I went to my Wikipedia.com page and changed it to say ‘classically trained church organist,’ and 4,400 websites picked up on it.
"It was really funny. My publicist was really nervous but, you know, it’s all in good humour. I imagine it’s going to be a traditional wedding, and at most traditional weddings they don’t have pop stars playing." Ironically, Blunt and groom-to-be Prince William both served in the British army’s Household Cavalry, and the singer/songwriter did work closely with the royal household.
He adds, "That was my main job the last two years in the army. Whenever you’d see The Queen or a member of the royal family riding out in a kind of public environment, I was the guy who’d be riding beside them."

PREGNANT HUDSON STILL ONBOARD LOVELACE MOVIE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:18 pm

KATE HUDSON is still keen to play one-time porn star LINDA LOVELACE - even though she’s seven months pregnant with her second child.
The Almost Famous star’s film will rival another movie about the X-rated actress-turned-anti-porn activist, starring Watchmen’s Malin Akerman.
Hudson insists her movie about Lovelace will be one of the first films she starts work on after her baby is born this summer (11).
She tells WENN, "They’ve been trying to make that film for a long time. There have been a lot of different floating projects about her life, I think probably because she’s a fascinating character. It’s not controversial because of porn anymore, but she has claimed her story to be one of abuse and being sort of forced into this lifestyle which objectifies women.
"Linda Lovelace always talked about herself and freedom of sexuality in a way where people questioned why all of a sudden she became this feminist with Gloria Steinem.
"She’s a very interesting character and the script that I’m involved in I really like because it kind of attacks it at both perspectives; what her perspective was in terms of the abuse and a difficult childhood and then the outside perspective of how people saw her. It’s just a really interesting piece, so hopefully we’ll get to do it. We’ve got the people but it’s really more about scheduling." Akerman has replaced Lindsay Lohan in the rival project, titled Inferno: A Linda Lovelace Story.

Castmembers have been injured after stunts went awry and early reviews were dreadful. But the show was a big hit for theatregoers, who turned up in droves to see it.
The revamped show will feature a new director - creator Julie Taymor quit as the creative force of the musical in March (11), and she has been replaced by Broadway veteran Phil McKinley.

COTILLARD & GORDON-LEVITT’S BATMAN ROLES REVEALED

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:15 pm

Oscar winner MARION COTILLARD will play high-powered socialite MIRANDA TATE in the latest BATMAN film.
She and her Inception co-star Joseph Gordon-Levitt signed to reteam with director Christopher Nolan last year (10), but details of their characters in The Dark Knight Rises have been kept under wraps - until now.
Speculation suggested Cotillard would portray Talia Al-Ghul and Gordon-Levitt The Holiday Killer, but now it appears both will play straightforward characters.
According to CinemaBlend.com, Cotillard’s Miranda Tate is a Wayne Enterprises board member eager to help Batman’s alter-ego Bruce Wayne resume his father’s philanthropic endeavours.
Meanwhile, Gordon-Levitt will play John Blake, a Gotham City cop assigned to special duty under the command of Commissioner Gordon (Gary Oldman).
Speaking of casting his two Inception stars, Nolan says, "When you collaborate with people as talented as Marion and Joe, it comes as no surprise that you would want to repeat the experience. I immediately thought of them for the roles of Miranda and Blake, and I am looking forward to working with both of them again."

JUDGE BANS MEDIA FROM SHEEN AND MUELLER CUSTODY BATTLE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:33 pm

CHARLIE SHEEN’s custody battle with estranged wife BROOKE MUELLER will continue behind closed doors after a Los Angeles judge banished reporters from the courtroom due to "questions of abuse" surrounding the case.
The former Two and a Half Men star split from Mueller following a heated altercation on Christmas Day in 2009, which resulted in the actor’s conviction for assault.
They have been fighting over twin sons Bob and Max ever since and returned to the L.A. County Courthouse on Tuesday (19Apr11) to argue their cases for sole custody of the boys.
Sheen took time out from a one-man theatre tour to meet his estranged wife in court.
The latest developments in the high-profile case will remain private after Judge Hank Goldberg banished all members of the media from the court house, reports TMZ.com. Judge Goldberg refused to go into detail about the abuse allegations.
The news comes a month after Sheen was temporarily stripped of all custody rights amid allegations the star had threatened Mueller’s life. The kids were subsequently removed from the actor’s care, although the former couple reached a new custody agreement shortly afterwards.
The latest custody hearing comes just days after news broke suggesting Mueller has checked into a rehab facility.
Reports suggest both Mueller’s mother and Sheen’s ex-wife Denise Richards have offered to take charge of the twins while Sheen is on tour and Mueller is allegedly in rehab.

JACKSON ESTATE REACHES DEAL WITH HEAL THE WORLD FOUNDATION

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:30 pm

MICHAEL JACKSON’s estate executors have reached a legal settlement with the bosses of the Heal the World Foundation, allowing charity organisers to use the King of Pop’s name and likeness to promote the cause.
Founder Melissa Johnson was hit with a lawsuit for infringement and unfair competition shortly after she established her organisation in 2008, six years after the Thriller superstar’s own charity, also named the Heal the World Foundation, shut down.
Estate executors argued the new company had no real link to Jackson, even though the superstar’s mother, Katherine, had agreed to work with Johnson and encouraged Michael’s three children to get involved.
But the two parties have now worked out a deal following a meeting on Monday (18Apr11) between estate lawyer Howard Weitzman and Katherine Jackson’s legal advisor, Perry Sanders.
According to TMZ.com, Johnson has been granted permission to use the late singer’s name and image in association with the charity, while Katherine has been made a member of the board of directors to oversee the foundation’s work.
The lawsuit is expected to be formally dismissed in court on Tuesday (19Apr11).

PALTROW STILL HEARTBROKEN OVER FATHER’S DEATH

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:30 pm

GWYNETH PALTROW is still mourning the loss of her father almost 10 years after his death, admitting she carries her grief like "a black hole".
The Oscar-winning actress was heartbroken when her dad Bruce passed away in 2002 after a battle with throat cancer.
She met Coldplay rocker Chris Martin backstage at a gig just three weeks after the tragedy - they married the following year (03) and went on to have two children, Apple, six, and five year old Moses.
And Paltrow is upset Bruce was never able to see his daughter raising children.
She tells Britain’s You magazine, "It was devastating beyond belief and I am still very traumatised at the memory. I still feel it in my nervous system. I wish he was still alive and it’s a real weight that I carry, like a black hole. My friends say, ‘He’s always with you,’ and I say, ‘Oh rubbish. No, he’s not, he’s dead.’ "I am interested in Jewish and Christian mysticism and Sufism. I’m also interested in cause and effect and karma and God. I don’t feel my father around or anything. I don’t know if I will see him again. He never got to see his grandchildren. That really sucks because he would have been the best grandfather."

The weekend concert has been planned as a benefit for the Haiti Project and Global Syndicate to provide relief to the Caribbean country as it continues to recover from a devastating 2010 earthquake.

GAGA: ‘I’M LIKE PERFECTIONIST LENNON’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:27 pm

Pop singer LADY GAGA has likened herself to BEATLES legend JOHN LENNON - because she too is "perpetually unhappy" with her finished products.
The Bad Romance hitmaker admits she struggles with such strong bouts of perfectionism she finds it almost impossible to be satisfied with the final outcome of her songs - just like the late Beatles star.
She says, "I am perpetually unhappy with what I create. Even though I might tell you that (song) Edge Of Glory is a pop masterpiece, when it’s all said and finished there will be things I dread, and every time I listen to it I’ll hear them.
"In John Lennon’s (1980) Playboy (magazine) interview he talked about how he hated certain songs because of the way they were finished. And they might be my favourite songs, but Lennon couldn’t listen to them."

HAPPY DAYS ACTORS FILE SUIT AGAINST CBS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:24 pm

HAPPY DAYS cast members have taken legal action against bosses at U.S. TV network CBS, insisting they haven’t been paid for the continued use of their images.
Attorney Jon Pfeiffer, acting on behalf of the actors, filed a breach of contract suit against the firm executives in a Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday (19Apr11). He accuses network bosses of using the cast’s photos on casino slot machines without paying them a portion of their rightful earnings.
The stars of the hit American sitcom, which aired between 1974 and 1984, were promised a five per cent cut from net proceeds if their sole image was used and a two-and-a-half per cent cut if their image appeared as part of a group shot. However, the actors claim they haven’t received a dime from the merchandising.
Marion Ross, who played Marion Cunningham, is furious she’s been locked out from the extra royalties accrued since the slot machines were installed in 2008.
She tells CNN, "Somebody came up to me and said, ‘You must be cleaning up on those casinos.’ I said, ‘What are you talking about?’ And he said, ‘If you get five Marion’s, you hit the jackpot.’" Although CBS bosses admit to owing the stars at most $9,000 (£5,625) each, the cast members believe they are entitled to millions.
A representative for the company has since released a statement that reads, "We agree that funds are owed to the actors and (we) have been working with them for quite some time to resolve the issue."
