BERRY RESOLVES CUSTODY DISPUTE WITH EX

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:51 am

HALLE BERRY has spoken out about her custody battle with ex-boyfriend GABRIEL AUBRY for the first time to assure fans it isn’t as bad as the media has been reporting.
The actress has reportedly backed out of a film and a play in New York over the custody battle, and took aim at Aubry earlier this year (11) over his "lack of co-operation".
But she insists the court battle over the couple’s daughter Nahla is not what it seems.
Berry tells news show Extra, "Our issues were never about fighting for her.
"We both know a child needs both her parents. But what I want to say about it is sometimes, as a couple, you reach an impasse. We need a court and a judge to help us work out some of the delicate issues… I’m so happy we’ve arrived at that place, because, for her sake, this is the best way. We both love her more than life."

HUDSON DREAMS OF BECOMING A DIRECTOR

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:51 am

Actress KATE HUDSON has come up with a list of dream directors she’d like to work with after the birth of her second child this summer (11) in the hope they’ll help her achieve her dream of becoming a top filmmaker.
Goldie Hawn’s daughter has revealed she wants to take charge of her own movies, and she wants to apprentice with the best, while working on their upcoming projects.
Hudson tells WENN, "I think directing is where I will end up in my life because I can’t sit in the make-up chair for two hours and I’m gonna get old. And I’ve always been behind the camera anyway. My whole life is behind the camera.
"I’ve gotten opportunities to watch some amazing directors, whether they’d be directing my parents or me, working personally with certain filmmakers. I think the greatest lessons you can learn is by watching and I’m one of those watchers.
"For me now, I’m gonna be a mum of two and what takes you away from your family, instead of it just being a fun role to play; now it’s really gonna be about working with the right filmmaker because eventually that’s really what I want to do." And the actress is convinced she’s got what it takes to be a great director - because she often has to avoid clashes with filmmakers over decisions they make in her movies.
She adds, "It can get frustrating at times because you work with filmmakers and you’re just sitting there biting your tongue going, ‘How did I find myself here?’."

FEY’S HONEYMOON CRUISE WAS WRECKED BY FIRE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:48 am

Comedienne TINA FEY will always remember her honeymoon for all the wrong reasons - the cruise ship she and her husband were sailing home to New York from Bermuda on caught fire.
The actress/writer admits the voyage had been a lot of fun until she found herself standing by a lifeboat about to abandon ship.
Fey recalls, "The ship was on fire, so we had to go and stand by our lifeboats… and we really had to stand women and children in the front, men in the back, and I remember holding hands with my husband, thinking like, ‘Oh my gosh, we’re gonna be one of those people on the news that died on their honeymoon…’ and he said he was thinking… ‘It’s gonna be so hard for her when they bring the lifeboats down and she stays with me’. I was thinking, ‘It’s gonna be so hard for him when I get on that lifeboat’." But it all worked out."

SIMON CONJURES UP THE SOUNDS OF AFRICAN WILDLIFE FOR NEW ALBUM

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:48 am

PAUL SIMON has discovered a new way of dealing with writer’s block and it’s all thanks to the creatures of the African plains.
The music legend turned to an audio journal of a 2009 safari trip he took to Kenya with his wife Edie Brickell as he tried to complete the music for his new album So Beautiful or So What - and ended up incorporating the wildlife sounds into his music.
He tells the Los Angeles Times, "It sounded like I was sitting in a room playing, which of course is exactly what I was doing, so I took the sound of the night and I put it in the background. And then I took a wildebeest and stuck it at the end of a particular guitar note every time it occurred; I thought of it as the end of a shoelace.
"It’s not a thing you’d notice until I said, ‘There’s the wildebeest,’ but it’s through the whole song. This is the degree to which I was following this obsession with making interesting sounds." It’s not Simon’s first use of the sounds of Africa - he has been using African musicians and rhythms to pepper his music since hit album Graceland in 1986.

MCKAGAN SLAMS CELEBRITY REHAB SHOW

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:45 am

Rocker DUFF MCKAGAN has taken aim at drug counsellor DR. DREW PINSKY’s reality TV show CELEBRITY REHAB for exploiting stars in trouble.
The former Guns N’ Roses star, who signed up for rehab in a bid to get sober, insists the treatment must be done behind closed doors - not on camera.
McKagan, whose pal Mike Starr recently lost his battle with sobriety and died from an overdose after appearing on the show, tells Examiner.com, "I cringe, I think it’s the worst thing for so-called sobriety: ‘Hold on, we’re having a breakthrough… Wait, we’ve gotta do make-up!’ "There’s a reason it’s (rehab) anonymous, because, if you fail (on the show), you’re failing on camera. You’re failing after you’ve been on this rehab show.
"Anonymous, you don’t have to succeed all the time. You can fail, and you can still come back and nobody’s gonna judge you. I wouldn’t have wanted to try and get sober in a public forum. I don’t think it’s right… It’s not cool." McKagan’s former Guns N’ Roses bandmate Steven Adler was also a former Celebrity Rehab castmate.

ONO BACKS NON-VIOLENCE PROJECT WITH ARTWORK

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:27 pm

YOKO ONO has thrown her support behind the Non-Violence Project and unveiled her interpretation of the organisation’s iconic knotted gun symbol in memory of her late husband, JOHN LENNON.
The Non-Violence Project’s signature logo, a gun with a knotted barrel, was created by Carl Fredrik Reutersward as a symbol of peace after the Beatles legend was gunned down in New York in December, 1980.
Now Ono has joined the campaign and given the Swedish artist’s widely-recognised symbol her own twist.
The Japanese artist says, "While creating my interpretation of the knotted gun symbol, I thought back to (Lennon song) Imagine and the words ‘living as one’, as both John and I were devoted to the idea that we can work together to achieve world peace and eliminate the violence and the suffering in this world.
"As I have often said, ‘A dream we dream alone is just a dream - a dream we dream together is reality." Ono’s artwork was unveiled as part of the Knot-Violence Exhibition Tour, which features inspired sculptures interpreted by celebrities and youths around the world. The exhibition will begin in Mexico, with stops in Brazil, the U.S., the U.K., Italy, South Africa, China and Sweden.

JACKSON’S REHEARSAL FOOTAGE REQUESTED FOR TRIAL EVIDENCE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:24 pm

A Los Angeles County District Attorney has filed a motion to allow MICHAEL JACKSON’s final rehearsal footage to be used as evidence against the King of Pop’s physician in his upcoming manslaughter trial.
The D.A.’s official believes the concert video footage, taken on the days leading up to Jackson’s death in June 2009, and included in his This Is It movie, will highlight the late star’s state of mind and support the prosecution’s claims that the superstar was "happy and excited for the future", and not looking to take his own life, reports TMZ.com.
Dr. Murray’s defence team recently suggested Jackson may have purposefully overdosed on powerful anaesthetic Propofol. The doctor is accused of administering the fatal dose. Murray has maintained he is innocent of all charges.
The prosecution team has also asked the judge overseeing the trial to allow photos from Jackson’s autopsy to be used as case evidence.
The trial is scheduled to begin next month (May11).

COX REGRETS STERN SHOW SURPRISE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:24 pm

COURTENEY COX regrets her surprise appearance on shock jock HOWARD STERN’s radio show last week (ends15Apr11) - because the chat got way too personal and she was too candid.
The former Friends star stunned Stern and her husband David Arquette, who was co-hosting the satellite show, when she walked into the studio last Thursday (14Apr11) and sat down to chat.
But the appearance turned into a therapy session as Stern and Arquette grilled her over the state of her marriage - Cox and Arquette separated last summer (10).
Stern quizzed her about her sex life, extra-marital affairs and went "deep" into her relationship with her husband, who was happy to encourage the prying DJ.
Cox eventually walked out, but not before she’d said enough to make the pages of the tabloids and all the gossip Internet sites.
She says, "They got heavy, deep and real. I was not expecting the questions, like, ‘Are you going to get back together?’ I was like, ‘Wow, dude, this is…’ It was really personal stuff… and David was like, ‘Yeah, tell me!’ "You say things on Howard, or Howard says things and you agree and then it’s all over the press… I said something about David and it was like, ‘Courteney says David is sex obsessed.’ I just told one story, I was just joking."

COX FEARED ARQUETTE WAS GAY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:21 pm

COURTENEY COX feared she’d uncovered her husband DAVID ARQUETTE’s gay secret while checking through the couple’s iTunes download account.
The actress, who separated from Arquette last summer (10), was downloading songs when she decided to check back over the couple’s purchasing history - to see what tunes her hip husband was picking.
And she came across a subscription to a gay website called Grinder.
Appearing on Monday’s (18Apr11) Jimmy Kimmel Live! show, she said, "There were a lot of books… and there were some songs, and then it said, ‘Grinder - to find your same sex in your neighbourhood’. I was like, ‘Wow, what if you actually don’t know the person you’ve been with for that long? I wonder if David’s buying Grinder.’ "It’s a gay website that you get to punch something in and see where another guy in your neighbourhood is.
"So I called up my assistant, who happens to be gay…, and I said, ‘Did you happen to buy anything on our iTunes thing’. He said, ‘No’, and now I’m kinda shaking. I’m like, ‘This is gonna be a weird call to David’.
"I said, ‘Come on buddy, it’s alright. I wouldn’t get mad. Tell me about one thing - you bought Grinder’. He said, ‘Oh yeah, that was a free app…’"
