DAVIES BROTHERS IN TALKS FOR KINKS REUNION

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:25 pm

Warring pop brothers RAY and DAVE DAVIES are in talks to reunite legendary band THE KINKS to record a new album.
The feuding pair has not worked together since the British band split in 1996, and have barely been on speaking terms ever since, communicating only through occasional emails.
Their ongoing spat worsened last year (10) when guitarist Dave declined to take part in a tribute concert for their late bandmate Pete Quaife in June (10), and in October (10) he ruled out a reunion with frontman Ray.
But now Dave has revealed he is finally talking to his brother about reforming the You Really Got Me hitmakers to record a new album - once Ray completes his touring commitments.
He tells Mojo magazine, "Me and Ray have been talking about doing something. Well, he keeps saying it but then he goes on tour. But it’d be nice to do it, and it’d be silly not to do it when we can.
"It has to be done properly. We wouldn’t do it with a tribute band, put it that way. At least me and Ray are talking."

LADY GAGA RECEIVES RUBY SLIPPERS FOR BIRTHDAY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:25 pm

LADY GAGA received an extra special birthday present as she celebrated turning 25 on Monday (28Mar11) - she was given a pair of THE WIZARD OF OZ-style ruby slippers.
The pop superstar performed at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on her big day as part of her Monster Ball tour, and her dancers surprised her during the show by presenting her with a birthday cake, while the crowd sang a rousing rendition of ‘Happy Birthday’.
Gaga went on to tell her fans about her favourite present, revealing she was given a pair of the ruby slippers similar to those worn by Judy Garland in the classic 1939 movie.
She also explained she has pined for the shoes ever since she was a child when she desperately wanted the lead role in a school production of the story, but lost out to an older girl who bullied her in the classroom, according to Hollyscoop.com.
Gaga told the audience, "Little did they know that I have a real background with these shoes… I will never forget it because I wanted to be Dorothy so bad. I was in eighth grade and (the other girl) was a senior. I definitely deserved to get it, but I didn’t get it. I remember she would speak in the dressing room while she was getting ready, I was one of the people in the chorus, the worst role.
"She used to pour Coca-Cola on her shoes to keep her from slipping on stage. She would pour Coca-Cola on her shoes and look at me and say… ‘Just in case I slip’.
"On behalf of myself and all of those bullied around the world, now these f**king ruby slippers are mine… Someday someone will hand you a pair of ruby slippers!"

KEATING WENT THROUGH ‘HELL’ AFTER CHEATING SCANDAL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:24 pm

Irish singer RONAN KEATING has opened up about the "hell" of his cheating scandal last year (10), blaming his "holier than holy" image for the backlash he received from fans.
The clean-cut Boyzone star hit headlines over allegations he had enjoyed a fling with a dancer on tour in 2009. He subsequently separated from his wife Yvonne for several months before the pair decided to give its marriage another chance last October (10).
Keating is convinced his role model reputation made his fall from grace all the worse - and admits he’s still not over the ordeal which almost ripped his family apart.
He tells Britain’s Live magazine, "Every interview I ever sat through normally started with someone saying, ‘You’ve achieved so much for your age’ or ‘You are such a great role model.’ I always hated that, felt embarrassed about it, because I felt I’d been stuck with a label that was pretty impossible. Then life throws you a curve ball and everything changes and you’re blamed for not being this person you never were. As if everything in life was black and white, when we all know it’s a sea of greys.
"It’s been hell. I don’t think in any way I’m through it, but I am dealing with it. I set myself up for a fall by appearing holier than holy, and I think there may be quite a few people out there who thought, ‘Thank God - he’s human after all.’ I am. I make mistakes. I’m definitely not comfortable with the mistakes that I’ve made and I’m still trying to resolve them.
"I did make a mistake. And I’m still trying to make up for that. I love my wife and my family is everything to me. Right now I’m trying to be the man I want to be. I’m trying to get there… The people I love the most have been hurt - my family. I take the blame for that. Everyone is responsible for their own actions."

BEYONCE’S FATHER DISMISSES RIFT RUMOURS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:21 pm

BEYONCE’s father MATHEW KNOWLES has dismissed rumours his famous daughter dumped him as her manager over a family rift - insisting the "mutual" decision was made so he could concentrate on mentoring gospel singers.
The pop superstar’s dad has managed her career since she was a teenager, but the singer announced this week (beg28Mar11) that they had decided to part ways.
Beyonce insisted the split was "on a business level", but her statement failed to silence rumours the pair’s relationship hasn’t recovered from a family scandal last year (10), when Knowles was revealed to have fathered a lovechild while he was still married to the star’s mother, Tina. The baby was born three months after Tina Knowles filed for divorce.
Mathew has now released his own statement to clarify the reports, insisting he wanted to move on from managing Beyonce to concentrate on other artists.
He tells Us Weekly, "We mutually agreed to part ways in terms of me managing Beyonce, as my focus is in the investment of Music World Entertainment’s growing gospel and inspirational music division… Because of the success of all of these artists, my focus has to be on gospel now."

BROADBENT TOOK OVER PART FROM ILL POSTLETHWAITE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:21 pm

JIM BROADBENT has revealed he was drafted in at the last minute to star in a new TV series after late actor PETE POSTLETHWAITE suddenly withdrew from the role due to illness.
The Moulin Rouge! actor stars in new BBC thriller Exile as retired journalist Sam, who is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, but he has now admitted the part was supposed to be played by Postlethwaite, who died in January (11).
Broadbent reveals Postlethwaite was the first choice for the lead role, but he had to quit the TV show as his health failed - and the actor admits the casting revelation convinced him to accept the job.
He says, "I came on later and Pete Postlethwaite was down to play Sam. Suddenly he couldn’t do it and I had an email. That was my one reason why I knew that obviously it’s going to be good if it’s good enough for Pete."

IN THE HEIGHTS MOVIE SCRAPPED

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:19 pm

KENNY ORTEGA’s big screen version of hit Broadway musical IN THE HEIGHTS has been axed.
The director had been due to start work on his first project since Michael Jackson concert documentary This Is It by filming his version of the Tony Award-winning stage show in New York this summer (11).

KILLING BONO DIRECTOR HONOURS LATE POSTLETHWAITE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:19 pm

The director of PETE POSTLETHWAITE’s final film KILLING BONO used the movie’s London premiere on Monday night (28Mar11) to pay tribute to the late actor, calling him "one of the greats".
The Usual Suspects star died in January (11) after a long illness, just months after completing work on the new comedy, which tells the story of two brothers who fail to crack the music industry and watch in horror as their school friends rise to fame as U2.
The film’s director Nick Hamm reveals Postlethwaite was an inspiration to the rest of the cast. He says, "He was one of the greats, and to have him on your set was just such an amazing honour.
"The last speech that he has in the film is about fame, what fame can do to you and how fame can both destroy you and make you. I think coming out of the mouth of somebody like Pete Postlethwaite, that has a resonance it doesn’t have with other actors." The film also stars Ben Barnes and Irish actor Robert Sheehan.

SHEEN CALLS RICHARDS A ‘DOG THIEF’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:36 pm

Embattled star CHARLIE SHEEN is furious with ex-wife DENISE RICHARDS for taking back their beloved dog.
Richards, who split from the Two and a Half Men star in 2005, gave Sheen custody of their two pugs, so their children could play with them whenever they visited.
The animal-loving actress became concerned about the dogs’ welfare after the star’s much-publicised meltdown at the Plaza Hotel in New York City in October (10), and went to Sheen’s house to take the dogs back.
One of the pooches has since died and Sheen is now campaigning to get the remaining pug back.
In a post on his Twitter.com page, Sheen writes, "We must bombard with Warlock Napalm, that traitor and loser w***e #DUH -neese POOR-ARD. A VILE KIDNAPPER AND NOW DOG THIEF. HATE." MCKAGAN TURNS ‘ROAD GAY’ ON TOUR

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:33 pm

Legendary bassist DUFF MCKAGAN’s sexuality takes a blow when he’s away from his wife on tour - because he starts to mistake the more feminine members of his entourage for "hot chicks".
The rocker toured the world with 80s icons Guns N’ Roses before teaming up for global treks with bandmates Slash and Matt Sorum in Velvet Revolver.
McKagan insists no women are allowed on his tour bus when he’s away from his model wife Susan Holmes - but that doesn’t stop his eye from sometimes wondering to men.
He admits to NME magazine, "You’re away from your wife and whatever, and I don’t f**k around - but there are no women on the bus. All of a sudden, well, your bass player’s got long black hair, he’s wearing his little sister’s pants, and out of the corner of your eye he looks like a hot chick. We call it ‘road gay’. We don’t actually act on it."

MINAJ SEXES UP NEW YORK CONCERT WITH WAYNE LAPDANCE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:33 pm

Rap sensation NICKI MINAJ gave her mentor and tourmate LIL WAYNE a night to remember on Sunday (27Mar11), when she treated him to a sexy lapdance during their concert in New York.
The stars took their I Am Music II trek to Long Island for the first of two dates at Nassau Coliseum and gave fans an eyeful during Minaj’s set, when she decided against pulling a lucky fan up onstage for her concert stunt - and instead chose to bump and grind against a smiling Wayne.
Before launching into her verse on Sean Kingston’s reggae tune Letting Go (Dutty Love), she told the hip-hop star, "You got the big moves, legs open, hands behind your back, mouth shut. Let’s go!" But the raunchy dance proved a little too much for the Lollipop star - he fell off his chair as soon as Minaj completed the cheeky routine.
The lapdance wasn’t the only surprise at the gig - rapper Busta Rhymes joined Wayne onstage for their parts on the Chris Brown track Look At Me Now, although the R&B singer was not present for the performance.
The tour stop marked Wayne’s first live show in the Big Apple since walking free from the city’s tough Rikers Island prison last year (10). The star served an eight-month term for a weapons possession charge.

FIASCO CLEARS UP CONFUSION OVER CHICAGO ALBUM RELEASE PARTY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:30 pm

Rapper LUPE FIASCO has apologised to fans in Chicago, Illinois after event promoters failed to make it clear an album release party on Saturday (27Mar11) was simply a celebration and would not include a performance by the star.
The Superstar hitmaker was billed to make an appearance at his hometown’s House of Blues for a Record Release Party in response to the overwhelming success of his new album, Lasers, which earned Fiasco his first U.S. number one earlier this month (Mar11).
Fans packed into the venue on Saturday expecting to see the hip-hop star hit the stage, and tensions grew as the night wore on and there was no sign of Fiasco, prompting some unruly members of the crowd to boo and throw beer cans at the empty platform.
The rapper eventually made it to the party and performed a 20-minute set - but subsequently took to Twitter.com after the show to clear up the confusion and express his apologies for the mix-up.
In a series of posts, he writes, "To be clear to everyone that attended the House Of Blues Laser release thing in Chicago. It was NEVER supposed to be a show… The promoters didn’t stress to the public the fact that it was supposed to just be a party.
"I had NO hand in organizing the event. Nor did my team. I don’t even know who the other performers were until the night before the event." And Fiasco has explained the reason for his late arrival - his car broke down on the way to the club.
He continues, "As far as me being late I literally drove about 6 hours to get there and I ran out of gas around Springfield!!!! Shout to AAA (car rescue service) 4 the save!!! "But anyways my name was on it so I’ll take the "L" (blame) and rest assured that it will NEVER EVER happen again. I love my fans. I’m sorry u guys had to go thru some BS (bulls**t). Again me and my crew had NOTHING to do w/ (with) how the event was ran or organized. Also all the money for the event from my side is and always was going to be donated to charity so at least for me it was a free event."
