COOKING IS THERAPY FOR LOHAN

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:47 am

LINDSAY LOHAN has turned to cooking in her new Venice, California home to help her cope with the problems in her life.
The actress, who spent much of 2010 either in jail or rehab, insists she’s found a new beachfront sanctuary in Venice - and she loves to cook for friends, rather than party.
The former wild child, who faces more jail time after allegedly stealing a necklace from a jewellery store near her new home in January (11), says she spends more time in her kitchen than at clubs these days.
Opening her home to cameras from U.S. news show Extra for an exclusive chat, she says, "I love to cook. I cook every night. I cooked a butternut squash ravioli for my friends the other night, with like steamed artichoke.
"It’s freeing, it’s therapeutic for me." Lohan, who has pleaded not guilty to stealing the necklace, will return to court on 10 March (11). The judge has told her that if she accepts a plea deal, he’ll send her back to jail.

SPALDING ‘MISSED’ BIEBER GRAMMY BACKLASH

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:44 am

Jazz star ESPERANZA SPALDING escaped the backlash from overzealous JUSTIN BIEBER fans after she beat the teen to the Best New Artist Grammy Award - because the newcomer jetted off to Japan straight after her big win.
The little-known singer and bassist was a surprise winner at last month’s (Feb11) ceremony, triumphing over more mainstream acts like Bieber and rapper Drake.
The Grammy upset prompted some angry Bieber fans to hit out at Spalding and attack her Wikipedia.com profile, posting nasty messages on the publicly-edited site.
But Spalding admits she didn’t experience the harsh criticism in person - because she was already halfway around the world when the news broke.
Speaking on U.S. talk show The View on Wednesday (02Mar11), she says, "I didn’t (experience it in person), we were in Japan.
"I just heard about it, from friends and acquaintances, but I didn’t see it or hear it and I don’t think I missed much. And there was so much stuff happening, Justin Bieber and I weren’t the only ones there."

BIEBER APOLOGISES FOR OBSCENE GESTURE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:44 am

JUSTIN BIEBER has apologised to his fans after he was caught on camera ‘flipping off’ photographers.
The teenager and his girlfriend Selena Gomez were confronted with a paparazzi gang as they left a restaurant, where they had been celebrating the singer’s 17th birthday, in Los Angeles on Tuesday night (01Mar11).
And the upset Baby star let his displeasure be known by raising his middle finger to the photographers, who gleefully snapped away, as he drove off.
The pictures have since circulated online around the world, prompting an embarrassed Bieber to issue an apology to fans and parents who may have been offended by what he did.
He insists he’ll "try to do right" in the future and not "react in anger".
In a series of birthday posts on his Twitter.com page, he writes, "Had a great bday and at the end of the night we got surrounded by paps and I reacted in a way I know better. I’m sorry. It’s not always easy but I know better than to react in anger.
"Life has it’s ups and downs but u guys r always there 4 me. I will make my mistakes but I promise 2 continue 2 grow with u and try 2 do rt (right)."

BLUNT & KRASINSKI PLAYED CHRISTMAS PRANK ON KIMMEL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:41 am

Movie couple EMILY BLUNT and JOHN KRASINSKI played a cruel Christmas prank on neighbour JIMMY KIMMEL by sneaking into his home and setting up large mechanical decorations in his living room.
The funnyman was at work when the actors erected a flashing snowman and Santa Claus inside his home after breaking in.
Kimmel told Blunt he was initially terrified when she appeared as a guest on his late-night U.S. TV show on Tuesday (01Mar11), but found the joke hilarious and took a photo, which he showed off on the programme.
The British actress admits she and her husband were convinced they’d be arrested before pulling off the practical joke.
She said, "We punched in what we thought was the right (entry) code and we maybe had five attempts, at which point the whole thing went blue and we were like, ‘We’re getting arrested!’" Kimmel retaliated by mounting a neon ‘INSURANCE’ sign in the couple’s yard.
Blunt recalled, "That’s very frightening. We come back from a nice dinner and we drove up and we turned the corner into our drive and there’s just a blue glow emanating from our house… I thought it was definitely aliens."

BAXTER’S DRINKING PROBLEM EXPOSED AFTER DRUNKEN NAKED SCENE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:41 am

Beloved TV mum MEREDITH BAXTER didn’t realise she had a drink problem until a concerned producer insisted she seek help.
The Family Ties star started drinking heavily as her abusive marriage to actor David Birney fell apart, but she never thought it was a big issue until she got drunk for a nude scene in a movie.
She recalls, "I had a job that was really difficult for me… I was working in Canada and alcohol had just become a way to make it (life) OK and I was doing a movie and they were pushing me to do something in the nude, and I didn’t want to.
"I thought, ‘Well, the only way to do this is to get myself real snockered (drunk) and I did and I got through it.
"It was after that movie the producer took me to lunch in Los Angeles and said, ‘We think you have a drinking problem… We tried to cut this (movie) together and your eyes are out of focus and we can’t understand you.
"I was stunned… I’d always thought of myself as a good girl; I was there, I knew my words and I didn’t create problems, and then they were perceiving me as a problem." The producer’s big reveal prompted Baxter to follow the producer’s suggestion and sign up for a 12-step meeting to battle her alcoholism.

BARR ACCUSES NEIGHBOUR OF MURDERING GOATS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:41 am

ROSEANNE BARR has filed for a restraining order against her neighbours in Hawaii, accusing them of murdering her goats.
The comedienne claims Roree Oehlman and her husband Richard have harassed and threatened her ever since she took over her macadamia nut farm.
In court documents, Barr alleges that she found two of her four goats had been killed and, shortly after discovering the bodies, claims her neighbour told her son-in-law, "That’s what happens when you p**s people off." Barr is calling for a judge to ban the couple from coming anywhere near her property and stop them from contacting members of her family, according to legal papers obtained by TMZ.com.
The TV star, whose life on the farm has been picked up for a U.S. reality show, is already embroiled in a dispute with the Oehlmans, after they alleged she was illegally shifting mountains of dirt in the grounds of her home.
The couple’s claims are under investigation.

ROONEY FIGHTS FOR ELDERLY JUSTICE IN WASHINGTON, D.C.

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:38 am

Movie veteran MICKEY ROONEY is leading the charge against elderly abuse after urging leading U.S. politicians to create new laws that protect the aged from greedy family members and supposed carers.
The Babes on Broadway star appeared before a Senate committee in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday (02Mar11) and urged the politicians to do what they could to make sure other elderly Americans don’t suffer the same fate he claims he has faced at the hands of his family members.
Rooney, 90, told the committee he felt "scared, disappointed… and angry" when one member of his family took control of his personal and financial affairs.
He said, "You can’t believe that it’s happening to you… For years I suffered silently. I didn’t want to tell anybody. I couldn’t muster the courage and you have to have courage. I needed help and I knew I needed it. Even when I tried to speak up, I was told to shut up and be quiet." Rooney has filed a restraining order against his stepson Christopher Aber and his wife, claiming they abused him emotionally and financially.
The actor called for Congress to pass a law that makes chronic elderly abuse a specific crime.
Fighting back tears, the film legend said, "I’m asking you to stop this elderly abuse. I mean to stop it. Now. Not tomorrow, not next month, but now.
And it appears Rooney’s plea has been heard loud and clear by the Senate - after the hearing, committee chairman Sen. Herb Kohl introduced legislation that would create an Office of Elder Justice help co-ordinate law enforcement response to chronic elder abuse.

MICHAEL RECORDS NEW ORDER COVER FOR COMIC RELIEF

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:14 pm

GEORGE MICHAEL has revamped NEW ORDER’s TRUE FAITH hit to help raise cash for charity.
The track will be Michael’s first new release since his walking free from jail in October (10). The Careless Whisper star served 27 days of an eight-week sentence in London after being found guilty of cannabis possession and driving under the influence of drugs.
The singer will donate the proceeds from sales of his 1987 cover to Comic Relief - the British charity drive which benefited from cash from his As hit with Mary J. Blige in 2006.
Comic Relief founder Richard Curtis is thrilled with Michael’s 2011 contribution to the charity, revealing the pop superstar has been very generous with his cash and time in recent years.
He says, "Over the years, George has been the most tremendous supporter of Comic Relief. Out of the blue one year he gave us all the cash from the release of As, his single with Mary J Blige. Then he did a brilliant Little Britain sketch.
"But, most excitingly, he’s giving Comic Relief all the money from his new single, True Faith. It’s always so moving when people stick with us year after year - and we’re thrilled and delighted about the song, and the wonderful video that goes with it.
"We promise we’ll use every penny we make from it to save and change lives in Africa and all over the UK." The video will premiere at 12.01am on 19 March (11) - at the end of Comic Relief’s annual Red Nose Day telethon.

DAMON ANGERED BY CREDIT CARD REJECTION

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:14 pm

MATT DAMON was left embarrassed and annoyed when a wine store clerk recently rejected the actor’s credit card because he wasn’t convinced his customer was the Hollywood star.
Damon recently relocated to New York with his wife Luciana and their four girls, and they have become frequent customers at the wine shop across the street from their apartment.
But one recent visit ended in disaster when a store employee failed to recognise the actor or his famous pal John Krasinski, who had been invited over for dinner with his wife, Damon’s The Adjustment Bureau co-star Emily Blunt.
The clerk refused to accept payment for the duo’s $1,200 (£800) card purchase and demanded cash instead.
Damon explains, "They have this wine that I love… They had it in stock so I said, ‘Let’s just get a case of this wine… a little pricey though.’ So I put my credit card down and… the guy rings it up, and he leaves for a minute and I see him get on the phone at the back. He comes back and he goes, ‘Can’t have it. Not with this credit card.’ "I go, ‘What do you mean I can’t have it? This is my credit card! Here’s my ID, what else do you need?’ He’s like, ‘Cash’. ‘I don’t have that kind of cash; it’s like $100 a bottle! There’s 12 bottles!’ I’m fuming. The guy told me to my face that I’m not me…" The actors were forced to go home empty-handed, but Damon later returned to the store with a magazine feature about himself to prove his identity - with a few choice words for the fussy store assistant.
But his outburst has ended up causing more problems than the star had imagined - because red-faced Damon can no longer bring himself to shop at the wine store.

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:14 pm

BEYONCE RETURNED GADDAFI FUNDS LAST YEAR

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:11 pm

A publicist for BEYONCE has silenced critics attacking the R&B superstar for accepting $1 million (£666,670) from Libyan leader MUAMMAR GADDAFI for a private concert by revealing the singer has already donated the funds to charity.
The Crazy In Love hitmaker was one of the headliners at a 2009 New Year’s Eve party hosted by the dictator’s son, Muatassim Gaddafi, on the Caribbean island of St. Barts.
She came under increasing pressure to hand over her performance fee to a good cause last week (ends25Feb11) as civil unrest grows in the Middle East.
Other artists, including Usher, Nelly Furtado and Mariah Carey, who have all performed at gigs hosted by members of the Gaddafi family, have also faced calls to return their pay cheques.
Furtado announced on Monday (28Feb11) that she had become so appalled by the controversial Libyan leader’s decision not to step down and give up power amid growing unrest in his country, she was planning to give her $1 million fee to charity.
And now Beyonce’s representative has moved to end the controversy telling the Associated Press the singer donated the cash to boost Haiti earthquake relief efforts more than a year ago.
Gaddafi has become a vilified character across the world with many countries, including the U.S., imposing sanctions on Libya in a bid to force the tyrant to listen to his people and resign from office.

BIEBER’S HAIR SELLS FOR $40,000

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:11 pm

A lock of JUSTIN BIEBER’s hair has sold at auction for a staggering $40,668 (£27,112).
The pop superstar handed his hair to TV personality Ellen DeGeneres during an appearance on her show last month (Feb11) - days after famously changing his look - and told her to sell it for a charity of her choice.
He stated, "I’m giving pieces of it (hair) to different people. We’re doing something special. We want you to donate it to whatever charity you want." DeGeneres decided to sell it to raise funds for California animal rescue centre The Gentle Barn, and placed the hair on eBay.com, where it quickly became a hot item.
Bidding reached $12,000 (£8,000) on Tuesday (01Mar11) but shot up overnight. It is not known who placed the winning bid.
Meanwhile, fans of Bieber’s famous mop-top hairstyle can take one final look at the ‘do’ that was thanks to late children’s author Theodor Geisel.
As part of Read Across America Day (02Mar11), which coincides with the iconic writer’s birthday, Bieber appears in a new viral video reading from one of Giesel’s Dr. Seuss books, and encourags fans to do the same to mark the literary anniversary.
The video was shot last month (Feb11) before Bieber chopped off his hair.
